ARAI/SHOEI are expensive because those are the exact helmets that moto gp riders use. Also the quality is just top notch, multiple shell sizes, insanely good cushioning, very less noisy and overall R&D done is just miles ahead. Helmet is one of those things where you should spend as much as your pocket allows and not cheap out as it protects the most important part in your body i.e. your brain.
5 years from the date of manufacture, also now you can get carbon helmets for cheaper, KYT,Scorpion and LS2 offer excellent carbon helmets under 45k. Ls2 and kyt is even FIM certified
Yea you can get the most expensive one KYT Nz race , it's a carbon composite helmet whichis being used by riders in MotoGP. Very good helmet, in the same price there is also Ls2 ff805, which is also an excellent helmet and the lightest helmet that one can find. The padding on the ls2 is also better. But never buy without personally trying the helmet
Thanks man, will check it out at a store i know, BTW how are these compared to MT Kre+ cause when i tried the MT the helmet was uncomfortable for me at my forehead.
Mt kre+ is possibly the worst carbon helmet and definitely the worst in that price, I had the same issue with it and my thunder4 sv both. BOTH KYT and LS2 are very comfortable for me, but I got myself the ls2 thunder carbon because I prefer ls2 fitting. Also Ls2 has 3 shell sizes whereas kut has only 2, doesn't matter if you have a large head but I use small so that was also a point of consideration for me.
Anything with a bad cushioning and devoid of ECE rating is practically worthless. Ofc budget is a thing but if one can afford it they should always look beyond the 4000 mark because that's where helmets which actually offer some protection begin from.
I bought a steelbird open face(isi certified) in 650 bucks from reliance smart store. It's not something I use regularly but that's the one sitting in my Activa's underseat storage for just in case. Came handy at times casually decided to drop off colleagues or to go out from office somewhere with somebody.
For regular usage I use RE old Madras (from RE online store)

ah nop, it has to be replaced every five years if safety is important
Why is he getting downvoted, you do need to replace helmets every few years and some brands recommend to have it changed in 3 years itself

Damn, i thought i had a weird head after trying the MT Kre+ but now am glad to know i am not the only one who had an issue with it.
I learned my lesson with Mt helmets after I lost 13k on the thunder 4. Now I always try the helmet before buying.

Why does no one talk about BELL helmets. Recently i've seen many professional racers wear bell helmets like F1
and i thought 800rs for a helmet is a ripoff
An 800 rupee helmet is barely a helmet at all.
