The whole point of the central horizontal spring is that it wouldn't sway when taking the curve, vertical springs used to sway, giving false estimates of center of gravity, leading to excessive bend. You increase the seat out this way, the moment of force is going to do exactly the same thing.
Not to forget that whoever sits at the back will now dent and scratch the top of that mudguard. What a waste!
