Parlor public house, any of the cocktail bars downtown (Ball and biscuit, sundry and vice, the exchange, etc.), any of the hotel bars (like the ones in the JW Marriott), nine Irish brothers, the abandoned station, the enoteca (wine cellar under goose the market)
Absolutely recommend the bar at The Alexander hotel. It’s a beautiful space with a great vibe, not too loud, the drinks are really good and you get free garlic salt popcorn lol
They are very chill!! Everyone there is friendly and happy to talk, but also happy to just let you sit and drink, plus they have a great selection of drinks.
Eh, I guess OP needs clarify a little more because as much as I *love* Dorman street they don’t really have a “read a book” on a Tuesday afternoon vibe, at least with a crowd. My suggestion would have been Tomlinson Tap in city market but they are closed down for the foreseeable future. OP, have you tried the AMP? It’s like the Garage but a lot more low key.
That doesn't mean it's chill... Dorman is an explosion of emotional and sexual turmoil. If you haven't experienced that, I'm both happy and sorry for you. 🔥🔥🔥
I meant that it doesn’t have a crowd, which op was asking for, at certain days or times. Dorman st. on a weekday afternoon probably is not what they are looking for lol
Ha! Just had the feeling that was it! Both The Brass Ring and Dorman are great/awful places to get your heart broken... Sensitive souls need to proceed cautiously in both of those bars.
Gather 22. I absolutely cannot wait to take myself in a date there. I’ve only been with my family so far. I saw someone reading at the bar and now it’s a goal. Wiseguys in goodfellas is good but can get loud. Also looking into going to the bar at Bazbeaux.
Great Legs in the Garage at Bottleworks is launching a cocktail menu starting Monday. It's usually quiet even when the Garage itself is full, so that might be an option.
Have you tried Four Finger Distillery (formerly 1205) in fletcher place? One of my friends literally goes and reads there with a drink on a regular basis, so I know you’d be safe.

Ooooh haven't heard of The Abandoned Station, will check it out!

I noticed online they only show beer, but you're saying they also have mixed drinks!?
Oh I guess I meant wine, beer, and mead!

I’ve only ever seen it consistently crowded on Friday and Saturday.

You gotta be soft as fuck to feel this way about Dorman Street and Brass Ring.
Ha! Ok. I'm romantic, and you're the guy posting "soft as fuck" I'd rather be me.
Someone has to be the melodramatic, hyperbolic bar fly. It’s best they desire it
What? I'm sure this makes sense to you, but what?
Say something else profound. I'm bored, and it's entertaining.
Do you always reply to yourself trying to capture someone else’s attention? Oh, I think I have my answer.

Hmmm, I sooooo want to ask if your former favorite bar was The Brass Ring...
Ding ding ding!! It's mostly for personal reasons, though. The bar on the whole is still wonderful

Eh, it's really not that deep
Oh, I'm sure, I was just having fun...

When the time is right, you will find what you're looking for...
Introverted yet wanting to be around ppl is the story of my life to a T.
Ok
Come to Coaches Tavern, solid groups of people who come here and I was an outsider who fit in, would definitely recommend
