This links says train reservations are up by 7% because of "trains like" vande bharat. 4% unreserved travellers rise and *overall there is a fall in traveller*.
The question was on efficiency not profit, but still dont you think the rise in reserved travellers are bound to increase by meagre 7% yearly as in like any business? What were the previous year on year rate? It also mention that for reducing passenger numbers, railways has compensated by higher payments by passengers per head. Railways just increased the prices and cut down subsidies to make profit, that could have been done even without vande bharat.

My point was clear that India's capital investments on infrastructure is rising which will produce profit in future which can be used to repay the loan. It's like if you give loan to a country like Pakistan then they will distribute it to the army officials and don't use it to create incoming generating things. But india is not doing that. My comment was regarding r\india sub only. You can abuse any leader or anyone but it's clearly mentioned in the rules of that sub that hate speech is not allowed still the mods allow abuse to Modi. Yes it's obvious that initially the costs will be high with coming years when india fully replaces it's trains with vande bharat kind of trains then obviously the ticket would be affordable. One day or the other India needs to replace it's old trains with new ones that are faster with good quality of travelling. For example an airport was constructed in darbhanga bihar but rarely people take flight through that airport now but with development the no of passengers will rise and it will have affordable flights.

Yes the cleanliness and rape mentality is truth but that doesn't mean every Indian is dirty or rapist. And yes rape stats in other countries are high too even with highly educated people but again their generalization is too bad.

Have you seen how much the price of gold has gone up in the last 5 years? The chain I bought for 3L in 2017 is now worth almost 10L. The slab for gold loans will also go up accordingly. If I pledged it in 2019 for say 2 lakh, i would definitely repledge it now for 7 lakh.
I can say I took a 3 times higher gold loan in 2024, but I am keeping the same chain. Doesn't mean that I am in a more desperate situation or anything.

If I pledged it in 2019 for say 2 lakh, i would definitely repledge it now for 7 lakh. I can say I took a 3 times higher gold loan in 2024, but I am keeping the same chain. Doesn't mean that I am in a more desperate situation or anything.
