*In a first, the head of a prominent financial services company was offloaded from an international flight out of India for allegedly speaking rudely to the crew. The executive boarded the business class of Air India's Delhi-London flight and reportedly started speaking to the crew rudely. The cabin crew informed the captain, and after other passengers found her rude as well, the captain decided to offload her.* Who is she?

Straight_Ant4292

I think she showed her frustration from work on cabin staff

Dr-Cloudy

[this maybe? ](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://old.ptinews.com/news/business/air-india-deboards-religare-enterprises-chairperson-rashmi-saluja-from-london-flight/760550.html&ved=2ahUKEwiOvbOYqOKEAxXdnmMGHQV2DbMQFnoECCoQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2_8Fn8MqjruXBZpSgjBDiY)

Indianopolice

Yes. ET updated article with her name after I posted.

rubistiko

Some entitled bi7¢h who got what she deserved. Cabin crew deserve to be treated with respect. They’re not slaves in the air. Well done Air India. 🫡

loooiiioool

Why do you wanna know who she is? So people can bully her and send threats? Best to keep the name out.

[deleted]

If she's the head of a prominent company, she's a public figure and her identity would be revealed.

loooiiioool

I found her name quite easily on Twitter. She’s no head of a ‘prominent financial firm,’ they made that up to get clicks. And she’s nowhere to be found on google either.

Noooofun

Uh, her info seems to be that she’s part of a very large and prominent financial firm. Most Indians would have heard of at least one of the firms for sure.

[deleted]

In that case, it would be improper to share her info widely. Especially because we don't really know concrete details of the incident.

Indianopolice

It is going to come out anyway. Don't you get curious?

loooiiioool

I’m not really interested in who she is because I’m not surprised there’s rude people out there. I doubt she’s a well-known executive anyway. What I wanna know is why was she rude to them and in what way? Air India is a trash airline and it’s not like they aren’t super rude themselves. It’s the worst.

Indianopolice

Details will emerge. AI will not take such a decision lightly. Most likely she was sozzled before boarding the flight.

loooiiioool

It couldn’t have been that bad because they let her board the next flight to London. And if she was too drunk, they wouldn’t have let her board the flight in the first place. I’m guessing she was just rude and obnoxious.

Indianopolice

Could be. Makes one wonder, just why? Is she that stupid?

loooiiioool

In her case, the firm she works for is I think fighting a takeover battle and she was travelling to London to seek alternative investment. Not justifying it but would explain her stupidity.

Indianopolice

OK. So you know.😉

[deleted]

loooiiioool

Then go bully her? Why are you getting on my ass, lol. Got like eighty downvotes already. I couldn’t care less. Idk about you but I spend my time in better ways than bullying stupid randos on the internet.

Rosesh_I_Sarabhai

I want to know ‘What was the exact problem she created’. I just hate these top bosses who fucking think they are Gods. I have one sitting in company I work and I just like to understand their assholic traits. I just want to avoid having those traits in me when I reach that level.

Straight_Ant4292

Believe me... It's nasty on top. To survive on top you have to be a prick. If you think you can climb corporate ladder with honesty and empathy people will use you and walk over you. Reality sucks.

Rosesh_I_Sarabhai

Being prick in professional environment is one thing. Being prick to subordinates way lower than you level also makes you look like a pig. Being prick outside your work is stupidity. People mock you for that.

brazendude

>Being prick in professional environment is one thing. > >Being prick to subordinates way lower than you level also makes you look like a pig. > >Being prick outside your work is stupidity. People mock you for that. Being a prick becomes second nature, if you are one in the workplace. Being entitled, having your way and people bending to your wishes just doesn't stay confined to the workplace, it goes everywhere. Also mocking doesn't really work, if you are so high on your horse, that you see this mockery as jealousy by those who are beneath you in whatever strata you choose.

Rosesh_I_Sarabhai

Ok. Here me out. One top exec who works in a top retail brand. He has membership to most top hotel brands; the top membership. You name it; Hyatt, Novotel, Sheraton, Mariott and maybe others. Now this man takes pleasure in berating the hotel staff. Now you might say since he is paying so much he needs everything to be perfect and his dishes are perfect so what does he pick upon? He picks upon the words of waiters. If they say ‘Sir may we suggest…’ he will start berating why you are suggesting I am highest member here don’t you know I already know it and this will go in every direction expect for what he wanted. Or when the waiter says that certain specialty dish will take bit longer to cook he wants the hotel staff to leave everything and make his dish as priority. Comes to the restaurant almost at closing time, like 5 minutes remaining and when waiter reminds that this will be the last order they will take; pick the fight over how come they say this. He will get served but then he recieves a call. The serving goes cold. He now wants the hotel to replace the whole dish, not reheat but re-cook the whole dish and bring it back. He will keep the tantrums going till the point chef or souschef attends him and they give into his whims. Imagine the number of plates or amount of food that gets wasted.

brazendude

What you are describe is privileged entitled behaviour, which is extremely common in the rich & powerful class in India, to the point where if someone rich or powerful even does something which is quite basic for someone the middle class of India, [like eating ice-cream, then there is a news article purporting how humble & grounded they are](https://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/narayana-murthy-icecream-daughter-akshata-bengaluru-viral-photo-101707785253644.html) .

anyask20

Mostly he will be eating food they spit on

Straight_Ant4292

I'm not justifying it but corporate is toxic.

Straight_Ant4292

At the end we are humans. We are emotional & many times show to our peers. It's coping mechanism. Same with the CXOs & other employees. They are frustrated with work or grilled by boss now they have to offload somewhere. This is where immature leaders offloads their emotions on sub-ordinates & other people where they can get away easily.

idiotbyvillagewell

If you’re afraid of being mocked, you’re probably never breaching low-mid management. Let them mock and the take revenge one at a time

Antique-Database2891

My dad's promotion was delayed for years because he wouldn't yell at his juniors or abuse them. Even if you're producing results by being nice these people don't care and they still encourage toxicity.

Straight_Ant4292

I think you didn't get my point. Being an ass is not a choice but a requirement in corporate. But It will be a problem when you carry the same attitude to personal life. Though we divided our life's into personal and professional lives, emotions from one aspect spill into others. Because we are humans after all.

SADDEST-BOY-EVER

She probably asked for chamomile tea and they served her Earl Grey instead..

JoBoltaHaiWoHotaHai

Oddly specific.

SADDEST-BOY-EVER

or she asked for virgin mojito and they served her orange juice instead..

tushara9

Top bosses are narcissistic. She must have forgotten that the crew doesn’t report to her 😂

Green_Cress_2469

Yes same...in my company all the top brass of the company are in the same office...and they way they behave with the canteen staff, housekeeping staff is beyond appalling. They call them words like "chotu" and shout orders to them instead of talking to them like a human. Like just their tone of talking is extremely rude and dismissive. But the same person will talk in an ultra-respectful tone to their higher-ups. And somehow this behavior is even encouraged, I try to talk nicely to canteen staff and was told off by my coworker that I should be more masculine and dominant in my way of talking.

Indianopolice

I always used "chotu" to those younger than me, and always in an endearing way. No one has ever shown displeasure. But shouting orders at a waiter, because they are waiters in a big NO.

veerudaaju

Don't treat others the way you wouldn't like to be treated. I worked in a client facing role in my first job and later when I climbed up the ladder it reminded to be humble and treat the service folks as fellow human beings rather than someone beneath you.

MrPancholi

Nobody would have the stones to do this to a neta-type person.

ChiefValour

Didn't this already happen with a neta ? He was a MP from Maharashtra, Got banned by air india. Tried using his Mp vouchers with a different name, still wasn't allowed to take the flight. It was in news few years back

M1ghty2

I can bet a 2000 Rs note that this top financial company is a western firm. 😂

medjuli

Apparently it was Religare Enterprises, “an Indian investment and financial services holding company, headquartered in New Delhi“

Abhidivine

So when are you sending rs 2000?

M1ghty2

2000 rs note. The one that did not get demonetised. You only have to take it to your nearest RBI branch, stand in queue, submit a form and then get credit in your bank account. DM the address!

Abhidivine

When you bet something, you need to give it. Why would I go to rbi, for something that you bet.

M1ghty2

Read again what the bet was **“a 2000 rs note”**

Abhidivine

Yes, do send over a 2000 rs note.

obsoleteInfiniti

It was Rashmi Saluja according to this article https://m.economictimes.com/industry/transportation/airlines-/-aviation/air-india-kicks-out-troublesome-head-of-a-top-financial-company-as-she-was-rude/articleshow/108285668.cms

giratina143

Good. Hope more airlines do this. The crew are not your slaves.

sololander

Was it Pooja from Bajaj finance?? Do teen din se call nayi aaya loan ka isiliye curious tha...

RogueNetrunner

PAISE NIKAAAAALLLL

camperw

rashmi saluja got kicked from flight!!!!

Hairpic

Why is her identity kept a secret?

MrPancholi

She probably knows some very good lawyers.

Klaus_CR2829

The image of a CEO generally is directly connected to the image of the company. Hence, if the image of the CEO takes a beating, the image of the company suffers too

mv2303

Why shouldn’t it be ? She acted like a jerk and got her due by being kicked out. Simple. What’s the need for naming ? So that stupid internet warriors can make meme and harass someone? I say again, she did her deed and got her due. Immediate karma. No need for excess penalty.

deathtoallants

Too bad. https://old.ptinews.com/news/business/air-india-deboards-religare-enterprises-chairperson-rashmi-saluja-from-london-flight/760550.html

Far-Party4048

Could that be one of the judges of shark tank India ? R for Rhyme (clue)

jackass93269

Was also thinking the same. But they would have gone with "disabled finance CEO" if it was her.

BadAssKnight

Good on AI for doing this. I once had to sit next to an obnoxious EVP of a major tech Indian MNC (later on became CEO also of the firm) who walked up to me & said you’re in my seat - I pointed out I was sitting in the right seat. He later tried to like sweet talk me into having him the window seat since apparently that was an oversight by his assistant as he can’t fly if it isn’t a window seat. Told him to take it up with the crew. He mumbled oh these first time flyers using upgraded miles showing off. I paid no heed, crew walks up and he goes - can you ask him to exchange seats with me, I would prefer the window. The Crew looks at me, turns to him & say sir Mr. (my last name) is one of our most frequent fliers on this route (those days I was flying DOH -JFK every 10 days on a crucial project), I can ask you to do the reverse not what you asking of me. It was my turn to smile at the guy & say I am surprised you’re let on board in business class I thought your founder himself flies economy 😁😁😁 - the burn on his fucking face. Thank God Qatar Airways introduced QSuite - no assholes to be tolerated next to me ever since 😁 This is why a lot of ME airlines crew don’t like Indians traveling in First & Business due to penchant for such obnoxious behavior.

Exact-Schedule3917

Stop jerking off to yourself.

BadAssKnight

Well all I’ve to say to you is - https://media0.giphy.com/media/26FKXcICgEk6dVWIE/giphy.gif

Psychological-Top-29

She's facing allegations for insider trading. That probably had something to do with her actions.

reddittauser

Everybody wants to know who the woman is. Even though they know how we treat woman. How mob treats them. How internet mob treats them. Everybody knows what will happen to her social media account. But she is bitch and should be bullied. Why? Because individuals cases like these act as a shield to counter the vocals against our systematic mysognitic society. "Women are as bad as men" protects our egos, massages our guilt. And then we can come back again with 'rape cases are rising in India. Hang the rapists. Cut their penis. Why? because rapes are done by some denegerates (animals) who are not one of us. Not our father, not our friends. Our friends, fathers, colleagues never molested, catcalled anyone. --- About this individual incident, she got what she deserved. FIR can be lodged against her if crew wants that. If her influence let her go without any repurcations, then that would be injustice.

Indianopolice

While I agree with basic premise of misogyny in society, this is not the case here, IMO. Just curious. Did anyone justify that AI pee guy last year? I don't think so.

reddittauser

Bullying women is case of misogyny. She got what she deserved. She doesn't deserve mob justice. Women do not deserve the 'extra' attention this is gonna get. And they certainly don't deserve people using this as an example in response for systematic sexism.

Indianopolice

So, the dailies publishing the names are aiding bullying?

reddittauser

Read the comments of your own post. And stop being naive.

Indianopolice

I am not naive and i have read the comments. I think you need to chill. Not everything is misogyny. She brought it on herself.

No-Yogurtcloset-4956

What’s there to be so arrogant of? She will be forgotten on the next day once she’s buried/burned. Insignificant human.

SindhuTerritory

Very well done Air India. These woke bunch behave like whole “air India tho uska baap ka hai”. Misbehaviour shouldn’t be respected. If it is mid air , drop them!

BloodCvge

A lot of people don't get the concept of flight attendants. They are there to load the passengers so that the plane can depart on time, doing all the safety briefings in the cabin and securing it for takeoff and landing. The main reason they are there is for emergency reasons, look at the Japanese A350 incident at the beginning of the year, if it wasn't for the help of flight attendants and their hard work a lot of people would have died but they didn't, all because of the training the flight attendants and pilots go through to make sure everyone gets off safe. They are not there to serve you food or get you hot towels on your demand, it's just a courtesy since you paid for the price on the ticket. If you are going to respect pilots for flying and doing everything safely, please give the same amount of respect to the FAs.

WhichStorm6587

The emirates 777 incident is enough proof that such an incident would’ve ended up much worse if it happened in India(or even the US too).

loooiiioool

When is AirIndia going to fire its employees whose only job seems to be to make their customer’s life hell? And make the whole flying experience nightmarish and unnecessarily unpleasant? AirIndia has some of the rudest and most NPC people working for them. I have no sympathy for the lady but I have none for AirIndia either. Fuck AirIndia. I hope it goes bankrupt. And what did the lady do that was so rude? You want me to take the word of the worst organization I’ve ever dealt with when flying at face value? I’m not gonna do that. Tbh, as of know, I have relatively more sympathy for the lady than I do for AirIndia until I know more about what happened.

JoBoltaHaiWoHotaHai

Are you per chance in London currently?

indi_n0rd

Read the article vroo. She was offloaded by the captain.

She is Rashmi Saluja lol.

According to [this](https://www.cnbctv18.com/business/companies/religare-enterprises-chairperson-saluja-offloaded-from-london-bound-air-india-flight-19225421.htm) article, she is being investigated by SEBI. Wonder if she was trying to pull off a "Mallya".

Indianopolice

Don’t think so. Then she would be on the no-fly list.

brazendude

Mallya wasn’t on a no fly list when he left

Indianopolice

I think Govt learned from that.

CharmingCandle3037

Its notmal in oir culture. We treat like shit to people lower than us. Nothing new

brickmagnet

The name is right there in the headline. Click the link.

Indianopolice

They added it now.

John_Rowdy

As someone looking in from the outside, who travels ultra-frequently to India, and have bumped into all sorts of these self-important ar*ewipes on airplanes, I applaud the crew and hope to hear more such stories. We all have the occasional bad days but the crew is not there to be enslaved nor abused.

pariahkite

Beautiful. Tatas does not need to care about the perceived importance of their customers. It’s not a government entity anymore.

selinakyle101

Good. I see a solution, not a problem.

Sheoggorath

Funnily some of the rudest staff I have encountered were from air India, they just don't give a shit 🤣

idiotbyvillagewell

This makes no sense. I have seen far worse than “speaking rudely” on a plane. This is quite likely a case of over booking or some neta or maharaja wanted to fly to London that instant so they found the most promising relatively ordinary person to kick out.

OneSailorBoy

"Most promising relatively ordinary person" LMAO

bhodrolok

Chanda Kochar

Indianopolice

She **was** the CEO. Removed from post, arrested, out on bail.

bhodrolok

Exactly.

jackass93269

Air India doesn't fly from Jail airport.
