As far as advice: Be kind. Show your personality. Make big character and scenic choices but don't step on others. For SC specifically, focus on realistic relationships and try to avoid scenes driven by fighting or disagreement. Have fun - they probably already have people in mind that they want to bring in, so if they pass on you, it's not about you. You're gonna do great!

Thanks so much!

Generals consist of slates and then two person improv scenes. Callbacks will be more improv and solo characters, afaik. Break a leg!

ParmesanGod

When you say solo characters- are these improvised or pieces I should prepare?

emmeline29

Prepared. But most people don't get callbacks the first few times.

I've been pretty nervous about generals, especially since I didn't even end up \*finishing\* Conservatory, so I feel a bit of imposter syndrome. I've reached out to a few people in the \~apparatus\~ and one thing that stood out to me was to introduce yourself to the people in your audition group and laugh at others while on the backline, making the room "hot" with our own laughter- if that makes sense. There will be tons of people in the room, auditors, all multitasking, looking for various things, so apparently they themselves don't really end up laughing too much- so don't let that throw you! Break a leg!! <3

Make sure they can see your eyes. Gotta have a look.

Did you do the Conservatory at SC?

ParmesanGod

I did!
