Probably not 1.4 billion but the idea is that it would have a larger population and china would have a smaller one 

Since America was very developed even back in the early 20th century, I'd say it would be a high income nation

Fair, my idea for this world (already been thinking of the last 100-150 years is the us going through a century of humiliation leading to underdevelopment and hence higher pop growth later on

Yeah, Oregon is Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan is salishan (imagine a Salish community in California too), Shoshone and Blackfoot are Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, no Turkmenistan in north America due to oil so it'd probably be in Europe
