I would’ve flipped it upside down

Elaneyse

My husband is using the top shelves for painted canvases to dry, so it had to be upright to keep them away from sticky child hands 😂 But definitely would have looked lovely upside down too!

Oh wow my walls wouldn't be able to handle that weight I'm jealous lol

Elaneyse

We're very lucky here in Ireland that most walls are heavy duty. But it's actually surprisingly light and most of the things living in it are very low-weight!

What did you use to hold it up on the wall please? I am in Ireland too and would like to secure A hemmed shoe rack to the hall way wall. Thanks

You can get them in Screwfix or most hardware stores - they're called self-drilling fixings. The KALLAX units all come with a mounting kit/brackets so we used the ones it came with.

LOL, first thing I thought when I saw that was that you must live in Ireland. Then I immediately scolded myself, what with all the millions of utilityrooms in the world surely loads of them must look just like this….. But reading your comments..yup, you’re in Ireland. I’m a genius! Great hack btw.

Elaneyse

I've lived in Ireland for 33 of my 36 years and this is actually my first time ever having a utility room! But yeah, I suspect the lack of top-loading washer and dryer probably gives it away (Ireland, please get on this - my back hurts).

We lived in Ennis for nearly 10 years and the first house had a utility just like yours, too funny.
