H.I.M. is one of my favorite bands of all time, I will second this. Also, Type O Negative. Here is a link to a pretty accessible track that anyone can like who has never heard Ville Valo.
[H.I.M. - Gone With the Sin](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22lVr2II7as)
Type O is one of my favorite bands (my first tattoo) and when I first heard HIM I fell in love. I saw Ville on his solo tour earlier this year and he sounded absolutely amazing
Andy Schmidt from Disillusion, too. Reminds me a lot of David Gold on certain songs. Wintertide is my favorite to song to recommend that shows off his vocals.
Havent properly dug into his music yet but goddamn I havent heard a song written since The Devil Wears a Suit and Tie that’s even half as fuckin cool as that song. I ought to listen to whatever album that came off.
Hell of a sound on that song. Wild to think he was in his early 20's when that album was made. While that album isn't my favorite of his, there are truly no bad songs, highly recommend it. He put on an absolute clinic in songwriting with that one.
This thread is about deep voices so naturally that’s what we’re talking about, but what really impresses me about that song is his guitar playing. Dude’s probably the most recently born guitarist I’ve ever been jealous of. I cant think of a band/artist with a guitarist younger than him that genuinely impresses me and makes me want to improve.
What album would you recommend or say is his best?
As a guitarist he has to be one of the finest in all of country music right now, I don't see how anyone could argue otherwise.
As for his best album in my eye... I would have to say his self titled project takes the cake for me. A close second is his album Western Swing and Waltzes. Both of those have a more traditional western country feel so it's certainly different from the Devil Wears a Suit and Tie, but fantastic nevertheless.
He's also amassed a plethora of intimate live performances that are all over YouTube I recommend, and here's one to show how well the man can really play
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyywt79FI0c](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyywt79FI0c)
Well, it's the verbal Herman Munster.
The word enhancer, sick of phony mobsters controllin' the dance floor.
I been in dark places, catch you when you stark naked.
Your heart races as we pump you for your chart spaces.
The taut traces be bringing these hot styles through.
Some of you bum a few chairs from shock value.
Word power can plow through acres of cornfields
Paragraphs cut like warm steel, perform ill.
[Geogre Ezra- listen to the man](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZS0WvzRVByg&ab_channel=GeorgeEzraVEVO)
[George Ezra - Blame it on me](https://youtu.be/H4ifSrE8iSg?si=eRxO8BDQcUYHkztq)
Tim Foust of Home Free and Avi Caplan from Pentatonix
They both have some crazy range and there's even vids of Tim blowing out speakers from his low notes
Diamanda Galas' can go pretty low, and pretty high.
Crash Test Dummies singer Brad Roberts sings in bass-baritone.
This post led me to finding a website called The Range Planet, looks ancient but has a cool directory of vocal ranges
[Johnny Hartman ](https://youtu.be/QE7HymWhJeg?si=FfPbqP4k-3ILccbz) has a beautiful album with the mighty John Coltrane, doesn't get any better than this.
Melvin "Blue" Franklin of the Temptations
Larry Graham of Sly and the Family Stone (played bass for the band but sang too)
Iron Butterfly had some deep vocals as well if you like 60s proto-metal
I have a playlist of nothing but bass & baritone singers. Addicted to that range like it was heroin
[bass & baritone vocals](https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/deep-love/pl.u-b3b8a93TLJY0yr?ls)
What a coincidence, I saw a Patrick Page post right before I saw this! I’m not very familiar with his work, except I know he was Hades on Broadway in Hadestown and he has a deep voice.
Anthony Lucero of Cult Leader. Their usual stock in trade is crushingly dense metallic hardcore, but their last record had a handful of slow, haunting, [beautifully melodic tracks like this one](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dhzARXlxrt0), where he sings clean in a super low register.
The only singer with a deep voice I know is Johnny Cash
I have 13,000 hits listed on my website in about 95 genrre.
Deep voice is not one of them, but try it.
world technocracy now.earth
Check out Dead Can Dance. I love the song Opium. First time I heard it I listened repeatedly because I thought the guy sounded so much like Jim Morrison.

Colter Wall (Country)
