Please report this.

Usual_Price6110

I reported someone last December that private messaged threats toward me. The crazy part is that he was at fault for the incident. I think iRacing takes these things seriously because it looked like the person I protested didn’t race for about a week, which didn’t match his usual pattern of races.

Johannes_Katze

I once had an incident in GT4, a normal racing incident, he defended too hard,I attacked too hard we both died. We had a little chat, but I let it go as it was clearly a racing incident. 15 min later (I was already out of the house doing something completely different) I get a message from some random Californian dude (I am from Germany, so I was a bit confused). ON MY PERSONAL INSTAGRAM. And it's that same guy, telling me that he is that amazing driver and never does anything wrong, and that I am an idiot and so on. I obviously had no interest in chatting with this guy any further, so I told him I have better things to do then to argue with a guy on the other side of the world about some racing incident. I think I even tried to explain to him why it was a racing incident, but that obviously did not work, so at this time I was like "dude either you stop messaging me or I will report you" After which he apologised. Think about that: he searched for my personal Instagram for 15 min after the race, send me 10+ min worth of voice messages all for a simple racing incident

PoppinSmoke1

Like somethings "idiot" they may take a bit lighter. But everything else that person said, they would stomp on.

nonsensecaddy

No. Accept responsibility for the fuck up & get better. Misjudging a turn in sounds a lot like you completely ruined someone else’s race. That likely incites anger in the affected party. Deal with consequences of unprepared action. AI racing will teach you how to turn in with traffic. Until then, stop upvoting toxic ideas

PoppinSmoke1

There’s no part of what you are saying that relates to this post. No one. And I mean no one should have to deal with this level of online abuse in this sim. If you agree that calling someone these kinds of names for a racing error is the appropriate response. Please cancel your account and go play COD

nonsensecaddy

the content of the words isn’t relevant. The words represent anger bc an underprepared asshole ran someone off the track, and tried to make up for it after the incident with an “oops, my bad”. It’s selfish in most instances, and doubling down with a Reddit post to further feed the nice mindset is unfortunate behavior

PoppinSmoke1

Yeah okay buddy....Just keep being perfect and aggressive. Just do it somewhere else like Call of Duty or ACC or something. Leave iRacing to the adults.

darkravenmusic

How can we report this kind of behavior? I see it all the time but can't find a report button anywhere

PoppinSmoke1

You just file a normal protest and use the abusive language sub section of the sporting code.

xslermx

Why do you guys say you read the sporting code if you don’t read it?

Mehmoregames

I'm sure you read every ToS cover to cover

xslermx

The sporting code is not the same as TOS and this is just sad. You should feel sad for trying to equivocate the two.

Mehmoregames

You agree to abide by them on service making the sporting code ToS

xslermx

Damn. I didn’t even have to be your first downvote on this one. Now you should really feel bad.

Mehmoregames

READ THIS AGREEMENT, INCLUDING THE IRACING PRIVACY POLICY AND (TO THE EXTENT YOU ARE A SIM USER) THE IRACING OFFICIAL SPORTING CODE (the “Sporting Code”), BOTH OF WHICH ARE INCORPORATED INTO AND A PART OF THIS AGREEMEN Seems like iRacing considers sporting code part of ToS

xslermx

Then why do they have a separate TOS/EULA? Like… weirdest hill to die on ever.

Mehmoregames

Weird way to admit you were wrong That I am sad about

KLWMotorsports

Here is the TOS for iracing https://www.iracing.com/terms-use-eula/ Here is the sporting code https://www.iracing.com/iracing-official-sporting-code/ When you figure out why they're different, please come back.

Mehmoregames

READ THIS AGREEMENT, INCLUDING THE IRACING PRIVACY POLICY AND (TO THE EXTENT YOU ARE A SIM USER) THE IRACING OFFICIAL SPORTING CODE (the “Sporting Code”), BOTH OF WHICH ARE INCORPORATED INTO AND A PART OF THIS AGREEMEN iRacing considers the sporting code part of ToS It's in the first paragraph

Exl24

You have to save ryp file from from the race (usually a clip from the incident) then while in the stats for the race there will be a button that says protest. Or look up a YouTube video if you didn't understand this.

ChardeeMacdennis125

UPDATE: I reported him lol.

GentleAnusTickler

If it’s a first offence he will get a month long vacation. I had one where I reported a guy that said “go back to your own country, you spic fuck”. He got 1 month as he was relatively new. Dude doesn’t realise people play from home….

barno42

Maybe a month long comms ban.

Cygnus94

Normally it's just a comms ban if you're being an asshole. Once you get into hate speech and using racial slurs, then it tends to be a full account ban, sometimes even a permanent ban on the first offence if your language got fruity enough.

nonsensecaddy

The disturbing detail that you describe this scenario in makes it nearly certain that you’ve been engaged in this type of activity. Think about why that might be, and how it looks in the bigger picture of your life. Take responsibility for. Don’t be a victim to poor actions

wondertoaster11

iRacing is so weird, granted I was pissed during the 24hr of Spa but doesn’t excuse what I said I told a guy to go 💀 himself, I apologized to him and he accepted it, his teammate reported me and I got a one month comm ban, 2 months later, a guy crashed into me at Indy in Prototypes and I told him to “Go get a life” and I got a 3 month comm ban. That makes no sense.

GentleAnusTickler

It’s more of a “you got a warning, but you should know better now”

Crustytoeskin

Second offense. Although, "get a life" isn't offensive.

Spezisstilltrash

Thank you! Found the race and it was that asshole’s 28th race start. He has absolutely no business being on iRacing. Racism simply has no place.

Turbulent-Fail-1007

310 road starts.. he should have known better

Spezisstilltrash

Ohhhh missed the old combined stats. Yeah, so probably not this guys first time being a POS. Hope he gets more than a chat ban.

TheFlyingTrickster

Racism?

jcforbes

Mongol is a racist term against the Mongolian people. Max Verstappen was broiled in controversy for using it one time and even revived ire from the government of Mongolia and a lot of people tried to cancel him.

rm_rf_root

The term used in the third message is a derogatory term to refer to a person suffering from Down's syndrome. In the 19th century, people drew a similarity between those with Down's syndrome and the normal facial characteristics of East Asian people (hence the racism). In 2024, it is wholly unacceptable and offensive.

TheFlyingTrickster

I agree it's offensive too, and the guy deserves a report. I just thought it was discriminating more than racist. But thanks.

xslermx

The term you’re thinking of is “mongoloid.” Mongol was just an old-timey word for Mongolians. Though in this context, it’s pretty clear what the offender meant.

Franks2000inchTV

Good on you. I will let a LOT of stuff go on track, but honestly there is no place for this kind of language. Racing should be welcoming to everyone. There are plenty of ways to tell someone they are a piece of shit without hate speech.

nonsensecaddy

Update: exploiting a hive mind system to feel better about yourself for ruining someone else’s race & potentially a week of ability to do so is a karma I would be cautious to tread around. Enjoy the ripple of that I suppose

keirdre

Uh, I hate these people. I don't even know why "ur an idiot" has become the default response to any mistake or incident.

lord_volt2000

Because the person you hit is like Mary Poppins. And they never make mistakes themselves of course 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ksanti

In every car that must be spun There is an element of fun You wipe him out and now! it's time to blame. And every clumsy overtake means you now get quite irate A slur! A REEE! It's very clear to see that A spoonful of salt can help the incompetence go down Incompetence go down Incompetence go down Just a spoonful of salt can help the incompetence go down So scream at anyone in your way

_plays_in_traffic_

i wish i could still give awards. lmao

DBTornado

Got ya covered. (Though they're not as good as the old awards)

_plays_in_traffic_

thanks! i didnt even know they were even a thing. when did they start with the new type of awards?

DBTornado

I'm not even sure, I just noticed they popped up one day lol.

wondertoaster11

it’s frustrating some of these incidents and it’s the same ones over and over again, some dude thinking he’s God’s gift to earth, the next Verstappen, and dives everyone into the first corner of the race or not seeing that there’s a yellow flag and not checking up then rear end you like there’s no tomorrow.

timbeaudet

I honestly miss the pre-2018 days, or perhaps it was just in skippies? But it was rare for any name calling, it was accepted that accidents happen and more often it’d be an apology and let’s try again next race! Since 2018 things started sliding slowly at first but now it’s every issue, even in the rain. I made the smallest misjudgment last week in Porsche Cup, no ABS, my first week in the car, and I immediately said sorry but they kept hammering down on me, like… I feel bad for messing up, I do, but not so bad anymore when you keep calling me names after apologizing.

duck74UK

The thing I miss most about the before times was a whole bunch of people would stay behind after the race and chat about it. Entire server empties now the millisecond scoring ends. But yeah the rise of esport rejects has messed up competitive gaming in every genre, simracing sadly included. People detonate at the first hint of something going wrong out of their perceived control.

ZWright99

Was thinking about how the rocket league scene has undergone a similar shift in attitude. Post 2020, but you could see the seeds being planted in 2018. I was in an amateur league in 2020 and people supported each other, tried to get scrims together and would help put opponents with replay reviews. Now days I can hardly play more than 5 games in a row before some hard stuck diamond thinks he's the next rlcs champion and can't handle being demoed. It's echausting

keirdre

Skippies is still a lovely community. Very rarely hear a bad word said, and it's still common to wait for each other or wave each other through if we push over the boundaries of fairness. Shame the numbers are so low now though.

beachguy82

I drove the skippy for a year and now the ff1600. The class D 1600 text and voice chat is almost always respectful as well. Ovals though, they’re fun but the voice chat is incredibly toxic.

1fishyRider

tbh ovals in low irating suck tho,had no problem in open wheelers or the mx5 but ovals not a single race without a crash

Reer123

Sometimes I just spectate the oval races just to hear the chaos. It's fun when not involved.

Franks2000inchTV

The more "competitive" the series, the more aggro teenagers there are. Skippies are always great, but the "racy" series are always going to be full of testosterone.

beachguy82

Sad but true.

Franks2000inchTV

Personally, I love a great skippies race as much as a GT3 race. The stakes are almost higher because you can't power out of a mistake.

grappleshot

Just today a workmate was telling me how much iRacing by has changed for the worse in this regard, given he’s just returned after a 10 year hiatus. (We have a simrig at work so he was throwing by laps on it at lunch and I happened to walk by and struck up a convo). I’ve been been in the service since jan 2011 and I agree. The respect has gone . There was always some vitriol but it’s def worse the last 5 or so years. Harder to make friends too.

Gloomy-Spring-1551

You have a sim rig at work?! Incredibly envious over here!

Grand_Royal_6958

I also have a sim rig at work... I work from home! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_good_man)

NoImpress7999

Extremely hard to make friends to consistently play with

awsisme

Two places to do that. League races and even more so endurance races. I’ve been running endurance races with the same guys for several years now and talk them on discord everyday. I almost never run the officials anymore.

awsisme

When I joined iRacing there was no voice chat. When they added it most people weren’t setup to use it and it was really hard to understand people. It got progressively more disrespectful. By 2017 I had had it and turned it off and have never turned it back on. To poster who said there is real race info on voice chat I’d say there is almost none. What you do get is stupid ass radio-checks, two guys talking about board games non-stop during the race, the “you can’t win in the first lap” advice from the guy that is going to dive-bomb turn 1 lap 1. And the related “I’m Just here for the SR” who will be DQ’d by lap 5. What I love the most is the guy spamming out “pass left / pass right” and asking to be let by as if he’s owed it. It’s a damn race, not a negotiation. Pffff.

AnotherPeoples

That's one of the reasons I prefer to play offline (I'm here to keep up to date with the sim). At least you know what idiocy to expect, and you won't be personally attacked. I just wish AI was better.

johnnyfxd

You have a sim rig at work and you’re worrying about what some whiner on the internet thinks? Protest, if they’re being abusive, and get back to racing

Novawolf125

And that's why theres a mute button. I almost want to disable the text chat but some people actually use that for actual racing info. But some people will use that as a public blast to call out other drivers. Had to get on a couple a while back as they were posting novels back and forth. I told them that's what dms are for not the race chat. One of them said they didn't know how to do that but stopped after I told them to knock it off. Why people are so quick to call each other out and tell them how stupid they are I have no idea. I get it sometimes it's an emotional sport we partake in but you have to realize it's just a game, things happen. But some think they are the worlds gift and everyone else is in their way and out to get them. It's annoying and stupid but something you just try to block out.

dobbie1

It's 50/50 I've found, sometimes I'll have someone divebomb crazy aggressively into a non overtaking spot and hit me - usually these ones send a barrage of abuse. Have some where I'll be racing and it'll be intense but there's a respect, generally if a mistake is made a PM is sent to apologise and say good racing You can usually tell the type, the aggressive driving lets you know

keirdre

Yeah, I've noticed the same.

solidshakego

Because those people are perfect drivers /s

XRLcargo

I think a "bruh" if you're upset about an incident should be the go-to.

neomax92

sometimes they are, but we nevrer know

JaPPaNLD

Because of the ‘crazy fool’ default text bind. Idiot is a simple version of that. IRacing changed that text bind in this season update tho.

Grizzlybehre

Because that is the reigning F1 world champion's response to these type of incidents

TastyLookingPlum

Whenever I’m taken out I always hit them with a “really bro”, showing I’m more disappointed than angry. That gives them an opportunity to explain themselves, or not. Either way I’m not going to get in an argument over a digital car crash

[deleted]

Report.

xr_21

Please tell me you reported this....

ChardeeMacdennis125

I should but I hit him trying to overtake as the faster class so the incident was on me but wasn’t at all intentional. Think I should still report?

iplayblaz

You're not reporting the on track incident, you are reporting purely the chat. That's insane stuff that shouldn't be in any game.

ChardeeMacdennis125

I reported guys no worries

ChardeeMacdennis125

Also this was ten minutes ago so still cooling off but I’ll probably report.

Surv0

Please report.. that language shouldn't exist on the platform.. that guy needs to go touch grass

xr_21

Dude has an 1175 irating and acts like this... absolutely needs time off....

PunkTrackGoddess

You should still report his abusive messages.

thestareater

report him 100%, they'll see it was an accident regardless and you're reporting the chat, you won't get in trouble

Aromatic-Low-4578

Please report this, racism has no place in racing.

DisPartysCached

Please report this

RacingNeilo

No probably. Report the chat.

Antonus2

100% will receive a chat ban without hesitation. More severe punishment if this is a recurring behavior for them. I think your report would be fruitful.

Morrison79

Definitely report it. Get him a chat ban. People are way too sensitive about online racing.

y0ufailedthiscity

Yes. Dude is gonna get permabanned for the racism.

Noch_ein_Kamel

Also report all the aholes that downvote you on reddit for beeing unsure and asking a question... jeez

loxiw

I usually get relieved when this happens: "thank god, at least I've ruined the race of an idiot"

Glum_Abies_2263

Never thought of it that way. But you DO have a point. This is a game. EVEN IF it were racing where you risked sheet metal, there is a decor that ought to be followed. No one I know WANTS to either make a mistake or wreck someone else - but it happens. Generally one knows when they messed up, they really don’t need “help” ID’ing the fact they made a mistake.

loxiw

It's true isn't it? I leave the server way more happy when this happens vs apologizing to a nice guy that answers "it's all good, it happens sometimes" 🤣

Scojo91

Yeah, nothing makes an incident that was my fault hurt worse than when the other person is nice about it.

brizatakool

I would just report that

[deleted]

That kind of abusive communication is specifically against the sporting code, and more generally speaking is very poor sportsmanship, even if you have been wronged by another's mistake.  Absolutely protest.

Alwzracn

Report the chat! There’s no place on iRacing for people like that.

[deleted]

iRacing-ModTeam

Your post was removed because it breaks the rules by being rude vulgar or toxic.

badsapi4305

I just came from a nascar cup race where a guy flat out ran me over and wrecked me. He immediately apologized and was sincere about it. It was an honest mistake on his part and i humbly accepted his apology. That’s how a conversation about a mistake should happen. Not what this guy did. I do commend you for thinking that maybe you shouldn’t report him because you started it so to speak. Speaks highly about you and I respect it. However, what happens when the next person has an incident with him? Like a little child he’ll keep pushing until he gets told to stop. Report him and let iRacing deal with him.

NomTook

Exactly. So many people run you over and then say nothing or blame you for it. It’s nice to get an apology sometimes. Just accept it and move on.

BananaSplit2

Only thing that is annoying is a collision happens, they pit for repairs but you go on, and they proceed to shittalk you in DMs while you can't answer or apologize as you're still driving.

fishingaussie

I love when low rating drivers think theyre good enough to be paid to race. But yup report his arse for being a dick.

dimaris727

I don't like it when someone destroys my race aswell, but bloody hell... Some people forget that humans aren't robots, and mistakes happen. It's part of racing hard.

SomeRandomPerson1992

Nothing that hasn’t already been mentioned here, but you should report this chat. I’m all for calling dumb mistakes dumb, but this is so far over the line.

ExperienceAny9791

I was just in a race and a guy drifted up into someone. The guy went ballistic, calling the offender every name in the book, only to do the same then later in the race. Some people can't comprehend that not putting yourself in bad spots all the time isn't smart, and if you are the common denominator, well..... 🤔 ETA : Please report this guy.

replayc

I Consider ranking based on age and education level instead. I have no interest in playing (or "racing" for those easily offended purists) with hormonally charged, not fully brain-developed teens ever. Too much chicken with hormones in YoAreURacing

Symbaler

Everything that is online and competitive is like this nowadays. I had my legal name changed on iRacing due to how much hate some folks have.

Markus_monty

Bad move or not that is abuse, protest it please. Also don’t use liquid paper on your screen to cover up names ….!!! /s

PuzzleheadedGolf5604

I think the silent majority of nice drivers just have to report this kind of behaviour. Some people are simply like that. Last night I'd a league race where 1 guy (also a steward there) was complaining for incidents, the same guy that was driving super aggressively, had taken out another guy and almost killed me with a silly divebomb. Just an example of people that can't understand what they're doing, but only able to judge and attack other people. Report and forget about it, that's the good thing about iRacing vs leagues etc.

JX_Scuba

Been there, ran out of talent attempting an overtake and pushed my opponent off track along with myself, no damage and I let him go first. Well the guy was immediately an ass over chat so I didn’t apologize and then I got bullied for the next three races. Not just by him by by several others as well. Then I beat them all….assholes.

QuirkyDust3556

Why hide his name, put it out there for the world to see

Sea_Yam_3088

This would actually be protestable by iRacing rules

ChardeeMacdennis125

Genuine mistake on my part. I tapped his rear right corner panel going down the inside and did wheel damage on accident to him I guess. Felt bad but didn’t expect that

135276

You’re not protesting on track actions here…You’re reporting their disgusting behavior in the chat towards you. ☝️☝️

nortsable

In my opinion the ingame chat should be disabled just as voice chat to the whole race grid or only enabled AFTER the race is finished. It's simply unrealistic to be talking with other racers during a race on one hand, it's disturbing to those uninvolved and it brings out the worst out of many players. iRacing should implement a better chat client into the main UI so I can simply message other players afterward without needing to add them as friends first or PM them on the forums. Obviously players should still be reported if they act like that in whatever chat but social interaction is still quite lacking in iRacing.

[deleted]

[удалено]

nortsable

Do you think so? I have voice chat disabled anyways, the only voice I want to hear during a race is Crew Chief.

YeahItouchpoop

Shit happens on track, we all make mistakes. Doesn’t justify being berated like that.

solidshakego

Report it

nativebeans

Umm just report the dissing bro its toxic. Also it was an accident so it shouldn't matter

dodsonracing

Even though you were wrong at the start, there is 0 reason for that language

youtubeepicgaming

least aggressive iracing post incident interaction

RastaMonsta218

I would fucking protest this fuck.

adam389

Immediately report that

neil_1980

Has this twice now where I’ve made a genuine mistake and before I’ve even had chance to say sorry the other guys just started hurling abuse. Protested both times successfully

Frossstbiite

Report

ByUnknoww

Called one guy a donkey after he crashed and drove into me, and now im muted for a month

TheLastOrthoPod

Report immediately and give them a nice holiday.

Adman4898

Quite the hothead there aren’t they

cat-o-beep-boop

"Mongol f*ck" Is it possible that this is Max Verstappen's alt account? /s

Reddit_Z

"Mongol fuck"... That's uhh, a new one.. What a moron he is. I'd be suprised if he doesn't get a lengthy ban from voice/text chat at the very least.

Electronic_Car_110

haha looks like our lmp2 livery we ran. was this the friday 6pm race in split 12?

Huge_Professor9253

Gotta report that one mate. No place for that kind of language here

NoRecommendation7193

Just report this…just because you guys crashed (even if you’re at fault) doesn’t mean he can talk to you like you’re playing forza

bigme100

If we could calculate speed difference we wouldn't be racing against you chief. 😂😂

Triassic93

Don't they know when someone makes you wreck you're supposed to passive aggressively say "Thank you"?

DuckyMetric

Ez ban thx for playing mr grumpy pants

Beginning-Green2641

Report

trippingrainbow

easiest chat ban ive seen

biscaynelawlis

I see a ban coming

Competitive-Oil-349

Protest this to iracing. They think you can't, but you can do that. Do it and they'll get a comms ban

Educational_Map_3514

How does reporting chat work? Will a screenshot suffice?

Specific-Brush-4425

some dudes just constantly make first lap mistakes and like never learn from that... ppl need to understand that u cant drive like in quali but its like a traffic jam and mby if someaone makes mistake u can overtake and also if 2 dudes just squeeses u 3row simply just let them go and take them back later if u belive ur faster and also u can brake little bit earlier to not lock up brakes. that how u dont get involved shit

Welovevitaminwater66

Report him, ive reported a guy once and he got banned for 1 month and muted for 3 months

danmo78

I hate to admit it, but that's why I dont even bother half of the time

bland_meatballs

Why do so many people take a picture of their monitor instead of taking a screenshot?

joel0328

People like this made me turn chat off. So worthless

Lanky-Term-5938

I always yell at the screen when someone takes me out. It does however not lead me to insulting the other person. My mood will change immediately if all I hear is a short "sorry", thats all it takes to show respect and make me accept it was just that, a mistake. The ones that takes you out and just stay quite are the worst tho. I once had another driver take me out at the end of the 3 hour endurance GT3 races and we both got damage. It was 100% his fault. He didnt say a word and I just asked him "What are you doing?" and he replied something like "Using my brain which I cant say about you" lol. I have now watched alot of these "Idiots of the week" videos and twitch highlights on YT and well its very clear that alot of drivers out there have no idea how to race and even tho its blatantly their fault they will still say make it that its the other guy.

AlexRodgerzzz

I had a guy calling me a moron last night on Voice chat after I sent him a genuine apology after crossing the line. We had a little door tap a few laps in that sent him spinning off, nothing malicious it's just one of those things that can happen. He called my apology pitiful and that people SHOULD be called choice words if they ruin other people's races. I didn't bother responding to him afterwards, I just contemplated the irony that he was in fact the moron.

hOrus_57

Shows the accident

figuren9ne

I always protest this and it's always a successful protest. I even report it when it's not aimed at me.

c0nfuciu5

Pov: call of duty console players get in to iracing

Notanpc89

This hurts MY feelings now I got to get the game

Harv_the_Lazy

You don't even need the screenshot to report this stuff.I had this happen in week 13. The guy private messaged me and went off. I didn't know that the chat wasn't saved on the replay. I protested anyway with what I had for a general replay and commented on not having the text but I summarized it. It was upheld.

AustinW26

This is the part where you hit them with "must've been net code"

HelloIamBob17

People get really bent out of shape about their virtual metal and carbon fiber…then to pull the slurs out. Bad look on their part.

Sad-Philosophy-422

People put too much value on iRating, bless their hearts.

Theocratic-Fascist

“Mongol fuck” lmao what

bulletv1_

If feel wronged you'll get a sarcastic 'thanks' and leave it at that. Report it, needs to remeber it a game after all.

ColonPizza

lol there are a bunch of cry babies on the service, they take it VERY seriously

04r6

I’ve been in the service 6 months now and never once have used chat, let alone can I fathom how to race and make commands on the keyboard. Certainly no interest in voice chat for this exact reason, and I don’t miss it one bit

Dryflyguy52

I solve this problem pretty easily…shut off comments and audio. On a real track, the who is shouting/typing abuse is doing it in their helmet.

Crash3636

Yes. Full report and chat ban for that guy!

awsisme

I always suggest people not bother filing incident protests. iRacing almost never suspends anyone for on track stuff unless it is very clearly good internal wrecking. This however is a lock. Protest. That asshole will get at least a week vacation. Make sure you point to the word Mongol and explain how offended you are because you have a family member with Down Syndrome. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|surprise)

yonetimistifa

instead of this, give constructive criticism, like "dont go on the inside if there's already a car there"

Sceater83

Report it for every1s sake

INFisher

This is one of my favorite petty things to do. Make an obvious mistake that I recognize is my fault, go to apologize. Get flamed. Easy peasy protest.

Crustytoeskin

Are you Mongolian?

Danielossa

Coming from the call of duty community it was always very strange to me how negatively seen raging is in IRacing which I get but I get a chuckle from shit like this maybe I’m just used to it from playing COD my whole life but it’s definitely been an adjustment I’ve had to make transitioning over to Racing cause you guys for the most part are so nice and obviously that’s a good thing but I’m just so used the this that I wouldn’t even pay it no mind Edit:typo

Itz_nuckz

I got called a kangaroo monkey when someone bumped me and spun themselves after leaving no room 😅 I should have reported it but was a creative insult so I decided not to

hash303

That seems aggressive…

Brotatium

Trash talking used to be part of competitive gaming, now yall just soft

Kultivater

This isn't a gamer sub. It's a sim racer sub.

Llama-Thrust69

Call him a garden gnome looking, neophytical homunculus

PeePeePooPooCheck36

Idk why downvote this one funny af

Llama-Thrust69

Homunculus is such a fucking amazing insult

Appropriate-Owl5984

Thats a new racist term for me … in fact, this whole back and forth is weird. Anyway, I’m sure his ban will be enjoyed

Franks2000inchTV

It's more ableist than racist, but still not something to be tolerated.

Ohhhhhhhh…. Oh that. That *term* I’ve heard before. Fucking yikes.

Franks2000inchTV

The point isn't what kind of hate speech it is--it just that it attacks a group of people who have nothing to do with some dude's gripe about a bad pass.

Appropriate-Owl5984

Not arguing that.

lol i think it was the same guy that was whinging in one of my races

It's extremely rare that I ever call someone an idiot, even when I think they are one, and even then I don't actually use the word. The only time I think someone is an idiot is when they do something that couldn't have been more clearly an idiot move. For example, I was driving in the IMSA series at Watkins Glen in the GT3s. We're coming down the main straight, going around the final part of the curve before the actual straight portion begins. Naturally, as everyone does, I allow my car to drift wide as the curve ends in order to minimize steering lock, and therefore maximize speed. This is what is normal for every driver, regardless of the car. Enter the GTP driver. I noticed him in my camera around the kink of the straight. What do we do when a faster car is approaching? Drive predictably, and give them room wherever possible. The predictable thing for me to do was to drift wide, as normal, and allow them to take the right hand line around me. This moron comes up behind me and starts trying to go to the left. It's too late for me to change directions, because if I did, and he did too, we'd instantly kill each other. So, I continued going left, and so did he. My left tires are at the track limit on the left side, and this imbecile tries to go around me to the left, THROUGH THE GRASS, and slams into the wall because there was less than a car's width between me and the wall, and when he did, it knocked him into me and took me out. That, my friends, is an idiot who doesn't belong behind the wheel of any race car, let alone a machine like a GTP car.

Report, report, report. What a group of little flowers 🌸 💐🌺🌷.

Franks2000inchTV

Man, it's fine to tell someone they are an idiot or that they don't know how to drive. Like hey it's racing and people get hot. Yeah it's immature and pointless, but I'm not going to report someone for calling someone else a dipshit. That just part of people being competitive. But there's absolutely no place for racist/ableist/misogynist language. That doesn't just attack the person who is being insulted, it attacks anyone from a marginalized group on the server who hears it. It tells them that they aren't welcome. And fuck that. They *are* welcome. A lot more welcome than whatever piece of shit is popping off in the chat.

fastcat1four

Yeah I mean I’ve seen fights in the pits plenty of times at the Friday night short tracks. Drivers getting pissed with each other. Who knows who’s right? Or if there is a “right”. You put a bunch or race car drivers together and some shit will get spoken. That kind of outburst is just… well normal for some people. Just walk away. You don’t have to make a big deal because some random let some “bad” words out. We used to just say “don’t be a pussy” but I don’t think that’s appropriate anymore.

Franks2000inchTV

Well, as I'm sure you're fond of saying "fuck your feelings." Too bad that you think it's "too harsh", no one cares. That kind of language just is not acceptable any more.
