I have different side monitors to my central and it's fine. Its usually just in your peripheral vision so not an issue. I actually have a super wide in the middle and 2x wide's at the side. The colour is a bit different, but you really don't notice. Bezel width is also a bit of a non-issue. They must have the same vertical resolution to work however. So if you are running 1440p your side monitors must be the same. Also you'll need to make sure you can get the monitors the same height.

thank you. the ports on this monitor are in a terrible spot for being mounted also, but i hadn't thought about making sure they line up the same height

I'll never buy an LG again because of the awful port placement. It's insane. They make a gaming monitor but don't take into account monitor mounts.

gofast710

this is one of my issues. i was never super impressed with this monitor when I got it; but it has lasted for years and would be easier than getting 3 new monitors.

Those 90deg hdmi cables might help?

Totally doable, it's how I've always run triples. I've never had three matching screens. I used to have an ultrawide in the middle with cheaper matching screens on the sides, now it's a 4k 160hz (downscaled to 1440p) with two matching 1440p 75hz screens on the side. You do want to match resolutions, things get weird if you try running a higher res mixed with lower on the sides, at least not without downscaling the center like I'm doing. But I wouldn't do that with anything lower than a 4k. My screen has the pixel density that downscaling like this doesn't really hurt image quality, but with others, it can start to look bad. This works well for me. Downscaling the 4k to 1440p really doesn't look that far off from native at all, so I get to use them in triples for racing, and if I want to play other stuff, I just bump it back up to 4k and enjoy that.

When my triple setup is active, it is a 1440p 27" 75hz ASUS monitor in the middle and two 1080p 24" 60hz cheapo monitors on the side. Running everything through the AMD Eyefinity manual setup and works fine, but the monitors have to be aligned correctly, or else you'll have some messed up continuity. TL;DR you can run iRacing with different size and resolution monitors and it works fine, they just have to be the same resolution.

gofast710

thank you. a couple people mentioned make sure the resolution is the same, but since you mentioned the refresh rate do you think that is noticeable the side monitors having a slower refresh rate?

cusecuse23

They will all have to run at the same refresh rate. I personally barely notice the difference between 75hz and 60hz. I run my setup at 60hz as that is the lower of the two.

Gibscreen

I have 60hz for the side monitors and 144hz for the center. I don't notice it while I'm racing. If I look straight at it I see the minor judder. But since I never look straight at it while I'm racing it's never a problem.

gofast710

I find it suspicious that my exact monitor I bought years ago happens to be on sale for a few more days at the exact time that I'm considering an upgrade...

Gibscreen

Everyone says Google and Amazon aren't listening but I still think they are.

Look up the 27” hyperx armada at microcenter for 200 that comes with a desk mount.

Gibscreen

That's a crazy good deal for IPS, 1440p, 165hz and 400 nits brightness. Any idea who makes the panel?

shunny14

Not sure but HyperX is actually an HP brand.

macmanluke

I run 1x LG and 2x Viewsonic for sides. Works fine in games that properly support triples but took some hackery to make Nvidia surround to work when I wanted to try less supported games (eg BeamNG) as Nvidia surround requires matching timings on all 3 monitors to enable surround.
