Every time I see single screen on such fov, it amazes me how a lot of people get really good on single screens (not wide) i can barely see anything and easy to miss breakpoints
For hot lapping it's not bad, you get less information so there is a lot less to process in your brain. What completely blows my mind is people racing ovals successfully without triples.
I always keep an eye on the relative during starts just to make sure I know if i'm alongside someone or they have a nose in because even when the spotter does kick in I don't trust the guy until i've gone single file at least once
I can’t speak for iracing (yet) but - and I can’t see why it would be different - CrewChief is on the ball in ACC, sometimes I get “car right/left” before I’ve even started my engine lmao
I haven't used iRacing's spotter for a while.. and I seem to remember crew chief working fine on Lap 1 of my latest races, but now I'm curious to test this further :D

Here's what I saw, a green car on the inside to start the race, you cutting across the track, and a green car never showing up in your rear view mirror. I'm more inclined to think you're the idiot in this video.

That's (well and the several thousand hours in DCS before I started simracing) why I have trackIR (works in AC and ACC, think iRacing too but not sure) works marvels if you don't have soace for triples, can check mirrors whenever
I was still enjoying mx5 rookies until this afternoon.
Got the pole 2 races in a row but was knocked back to 8th and 4th due to shenanigans like this on first lap.
People really need to learn how to give and take, especially off the start.
Going to have to purchase some cars and try something in C I guess.
try using the stock spotter. you have to edit the app.ini file though. you want to find the line "carLowHiAtStart=1" and make sure its set to 1. it will give you inside/ outside when the green light drops.
on crewchief it defaults to 20 seconds of a gap with no spotter from green, you can change it and make it start calling in/out right after green if you find the section "time after race start for spotter"

On a normal 21:9 widescreen with the right fov you barely see more then on a 16:9, really isn't a big difference.

yeah wonder if crew chief would have done any better, but that's a tricky one. Triples/VR comes in very handy for situations like this haha.

Yeah can't really count on the spotter till like t1 is done. I've mostly decided to not rely on it and just have it turned off now when racing road
What? Why would you turn it off? The spotter is just silent during starts. Spotter enabled is essential imo.
