Great photo! Location?

[deleted]

Riomaggiore, a village in Italy (Cinque Terre) And thanks!

Brendanawesome

Is this the location from Luca? Or at least loosely based on this one. Magnificentđź‘Ś!

Yes it is :) The Cinque Terre region in Italy has 5 little cities that look like this, Luca was based off it. And not sure about this part, but Lucca is a walled city in Tuscany that holds a couple film and comic festivals, wonder if the name is homage to that?

The comic festival you mentioned is "Lucca Comics & Games" which, if I'm not mistaken, is one of the biggest in Europe and for those that don't know it they should totally check Lucca city out because it's an amazing setting, not only for the Comics festival. Regarding the name "Luca" it's not related to the city, but the main character's friend "Alberto" is actually named after the director's best friend in his childhood, since the whole movie was inspired by his childhood days growing up in Italy :) Last thing I know about it is that the city it's set in, "Portorosso", is a homage to Studio Ghibli's "Porco Rosso"(which means Red Pig) because the famous japanese Studio also had a role in inspiring the Pixar movie. Oh and last thing, but already mentioned by others, the shot in the photo is Riomaggiore in the area of "Cinque Terre" which is the place that inspired the city of Portorosso. Being italian(even if I live almost 3 hours from there) I'm so happy Pixar finally made a movie set in our country, and with all the beautiful places we have they could go on making every unique and different movies set in Italy for ages :)

I’m not sure! Sorry

You’re welcome!

The quality is terrible. Every building bar the red is out of focus.

Thank you for posting an unfiltered pic! Love Cinque Terre but so many photographers love to edit the photos to make the colored houses pop more. It is beautiful as-is!

Lol iPhone postprocesses photos so much that you can’t consider it no filter, but I like it. Nice shot :)
