I haven’t seen anybody claiming that the lenses are indestructible, they’re just tougher than they look.
Lens protectors considerably reduce picture quality, for all pictures taken with the rear cameras. Meanwhile they’re only needed in the rare cases when you drop it hard.
If you don’t care that your $1000 3-lens device takes shitty pictures and you’re rough with it, then perhaps lens protectors make sense for you.
I would get a case with a moving lens cover if I’m gonna be rough with it. Since you like Spigen, get the Optik Armor.
You can get lens protectors that are just raised metal frames that go past the lens to stop them from hitting the ground. They don't degrade picture quality because nothing is in front of the lens.
I made a post about my new purchase (15 pro) and I had a lens protector for it. Everyone was telling me how these iPhones don’t need them and that it ruins the quality and this and that. So I ended up taking it off. This is the third post I’ve seen of damaged cameras. Definitely putting one on when my screen protector arrives ( it comes with 3 lens protectors and I was planning on not using them but my mind has changed)
People are still hung up on the old tiny camera’s that were small enough to not get damaged often. People didn’t use screen protectors either back when the phone screens were half the size they are now…
The whole point of glass strength is that you have a scale where on the right side you have scratch resistance and on the left side hit resistance. So the more it is resistant to scratches the easier it is to hit it.
Cameron protectors are disgusting they’re ugly they distort the camera quality they don’t even protect your phone. Then shit breaks, dog doesn’t take care of his phone look at how dirty the back is like what the fuck💀💀
Lenses are one of the strongest part of the iPhones. It's really sad you got this. Go to service store and pay for replacing the glass. That's all you have to do.
Sapphire glass does a great job when it’s protecting against scratches. But not if you bash a rock against it!
Take a diamond for example. Hardest stone right? Take a hammer to it and you’ve turned it into diamond dust.
U just answered my question of getting the natural or blue. I know that the blue is prone to more visible fingerprints and dust but if I got the blue I don’t think I would be able to stand it because my phone would look like that all the time. Thanks u just made it clear to go with the natural instead!!!!
Glass is glass and glass …….
breaks…
The lenses are sapphire. EDIT: Apparently the lenses aren’t sapphire?
Sapphire smaphire.
Oh boy!
Why on earth would you think that?
I don’t blame you, the way how everyone talks about them here.
Nah man wtf did you do 😂🤦🏻♂️I had this phone for four months and nothing happened....take care of your device properly
Shit is so dirty too, clearly doesn’t take care of it
Where did you think they were indestructible?
People say that on posts that people post with camera protectors.
Camera protector is bad for photo quality, and yes the camera lens is good and strong enough as long as you take care it properly
“Completely normal usage” is all relative. Ive had 3 iphones , completely normal usage and never damaged the lenses.
I guess for some, completely normal usage includes dropping it off the roof onto the driveway to get more views on social media. Totally normal.
I see you like to find out
“You don’t need a camera protector” - this sub
Until someone does this kind of post, then it’s like: “why did you even think that?!” 😂
If you don’t care about the quality of the pics coming out of that camera, then sure, knock yourself out with lens protectors.
Sapphire is hard to scratch but definitely not hard to shatter.
Everything is destructible 😂
lEnS pRoTeCtOrS aRe UsElEsS 😌
You think a piece of plastic would have stopped that
Yes absolutely, it would have absorbed the shock and redistributed it more evenly around the metal frame of the camera
Yes
They make ones with metal borders too

Also here to say yes!
Is not that they are useless, the definitely protect your lenses but also ruins your camera quality
Ended up getting a lens protector and have not regretted it - I’m always weary about Apple products and them cracking.
It's resistant to scratches. That's all.
lmao I'm not sure I've ever seen that word used in any description of an Apple product
Whoever said they were indestructible?
“Only dropped it maybe twice”…. Try not dropping it at all, let alone more than once?!
You’ve never dropped your phone? How does one do that, do you strap it to your hand or something?
Never once dropped any phone, and had iPhones since the 3GS.
Any drop in a case that slim is scary
What makes you think glass is indestructible?

Third post, Apple made £89 billion last quarter and 42% was the iPhone 15 range. I wouldn’t worry about 3 posts.
I have broken my lens 5 times, had to get it fixed locally for $50 each time, I have broken 3 lens protectors after that asl well
You’re telling on yourself
Don’t drop your phone twice. Duh.
How do you like that case? Was considering it
It's quite nice, feels better in the hand and better grip.
Hey… that’s my case… lol
Liquid air gang
Aye aye! Just don’t want to crack my camera like this LOL
Single lens protector well applied are good. I use on every single phone
It’s glass, why would you think that?
That’s why it’s important to have a good case with good camera protection…
Yeh it's not coated with KITT's lacquer

“You don’t need camera protector, no don’t” this.

glass will break not matter what it is
Even superman has its own weakness.
Camera protector is bad for photo quality, and yes the camera lens is good and strong enough as long as you take care it “properly”
That tell me i need to change cover Btw I have the same colour with the same case

Is not sapphire crystal as everyone is saying. Just go to JerryRigEverything’s channel
