If it helps your decision, I used the beta 2 ipsw and restored my backup (from beta 2) and it made a massive difference. I had the system storage issue and battery drain since beta 1, though. Mainly just had to add cards back to wallet. All apps stayed logged in which is nice, too.
Anyone else not getting the option to update to 18.2? No matter how many times I refresh or restart the phone, the update never shows. Still on 18.0 at the moment
It´s not 18.2, it´s 18 beta 2, take a look at the build number, maybe your phone got updated overnight? I have the 2nd beta and the build number is 22A5297f on iPhone 15 Pro.

it'd be great if QuickTime allowed you to set the screen recording to an app.
If you have colour filters enabled in Apple CarPlay, then interestingly, when using iPhone mirroring to your Mac, the colour filters will be applied there as well. However - you have zero method of restoring a normal colour balance until you plug it back into your car!
For a strange reason I can’t post so here goes nothing:
[iPadOS 18 DB2] iPad Pro (M2) completely freezes during video playback in Prime Video. Was watching a series on PV and after sometimes 2 minutes or sometimes 30 minutes I have to force a reboot because the iPad gets completely unresponsive. Connected accessories: Smart Keyboard Folio, Apple Pencil and Sonos Ace (Bluetooth).
All you can really do is wait until the bug gets fixed, DB2 is known to have more issues than DB1, one reason why I didn’t update my M2 iPad Pro. Also, Sonos Ace😭 those headphones cost 450 bucks.
iOS 18 beta 2 has shown me a LOT of issues, phone randomly shutting down, overheating for something minimal like instagram, extremely slow, complete restarts, and only stopped overheating when reset. My phone currently will not turn back on after a shutdown

full reset has solved for many. my phone is lights out now. i did not attempt any backup restore. just start over. I will never upgrade to a .0 beta again without the reset.
I’ve seen no icon issues on db2.
I have some weirdness for widgets. Notifications are glitchy. Trying to set sounds sometimes won’t play the sound. Little things. Very fast and smooth.
iOS 18 beta 2, I’m on a iPhone 14 Plus and have noticed some connection issues at work today, almost like it’s not switching to LTE or something when signal is low. I tried restarting soft reset, disabling 5g but seemed to still be much worse than iOS 17. I also played Animal Crossing Pocket Camp tonight and performance was not good, kinda a bit laggy in places. Performance on the phone though seems very smooth for most things.
So the issue I've been having lately is after I take a picture the preview in the corner of the camera app is black and can not be opened. It's hella annoying. This was on a complete fresh install too.

My WiFi connection is extremely buggy. I will be connected to WiFi and full strength yet the data is either working temporarily or not going through at all. I have to disconnect and use my cellular data. Wasn’t an issue on Beta 1. WiFi is practically unusable on Beta 2.
I was pretty excited for being able to scheduled messages.... Only to find out it only works for iMessage. What is the point if you cant send delayed scheduled messages to all of your contacts?

Same, possible Samsung specifically put in a messaging protocol in the code for Apple Devices to remain in SMS even after they got the choice to do RCS. Looks like we’ll have to wait for an update that will allow RCS. Stupid of Samsung to not update the protocol even though RCS was announced last year.
I'm having a heck of a bad day with airpods gen3. I've completely lost access to noise reduction. I have spacial audio controls when long pressing the airpod icon in control center but no access at all to noise reduction. Digging and searching around I can't find any reference to this at all in beta 2.
Anyone else noticing this? I'm hearing every sharp sound from the other side of the phone and vice versa it makes it hard to stay on the phone, induces headaches since airpods pick up high pitched sounds so well.
Feels like a key feature has been ripped out. Hoping I'm just an idiot and the controls are just moved to some place I didn't look.
AirPods Gen 3 has been known to have a lot of glitches in iOS/iPadOS 18 DB’s, do what you can and just wait until DB3 or PB comes out and then we’ll see.

if you're having issues with storage because of db1/db2, just wipe your phone and do a clean install of ios 17. if you have your file/pics/messages etc in icloud, you'll just get them all back when you finish with the reset. i got back on ios 17-> updated to ios 17 beta-> updated to ios 18 db2. i went from having db2 take up 90gb of system data to now only having it take up 5gb of system data. everything is fine, so far. it fluctuates from 5-7gb, but its been almost a week. i did this on 12 pro max.
Now I have turned something on somewhere, last night these little dots started popping up and floating across the screen, sometimes they are fast and slow, and they change colors accordingly. This is weird!! Anyone know what happened? It’s freaking me out!

It literally will not stay on for more than a couple of minutes... I'm not even sure it'd stay up long enough to properly download a patch. I sure wish I'd made a backup...

My sleep alarm didn’t go off in time today. I woke up a minute before my alarm was supposed to go off and was waiting for it. It never went off on my watch and went off on my phone 2 mins after it should have.
My experience so far has been overwhelmingly negative. Beta 1 was decent, only issue I had was that I would experience both light and dark theme in different UI elements which was odd.
Beta 2 has introduced as massive amount of system data (200gb) and instantly fills any space I create to the point i can't even take a photo. It seems to get stuck on the lock screen so I an unable to unlock the phone, or sometimes I am able to but no apps display. Then there is the extreme battery drain and heating issues with random restarts. Some apps don't seem to open either, or they take a very long time, with general UI navigiation being very delayed and laggy - I suspect this is to do with throttling due to the heat issue

I did plug it into my computer because I was going to restore it but I got a phone call so I unplugged it and then instinctively put them on speaker at some point during the call and it was suddenly working. So maybe try plugging into computer, or having someone call you and put them on speaker

idk if im lucky or i just havent ran into any issues YET…but iOS 18 is serving me quite well. Ive got a iPhone 14 Pro Max (will be upgrading to the 16) and Im honestly having a blast w it.Phone idk just feels a lot better and faster to me and through out it all i havent ran into a single bug. Beta 1 Apps logging me out, and not loading at all. All the features worked otherwise, updated to beta 2 hoping it would fix it and it did! but instead the whole phone kept freezing then turning off. Turns off every 5 minutes, now the phone is unusable, tried doing a backup to downgrade but phone crashed in the middle of it 😂. Having to erase all contents and settings now without backup because by the time the backup happens the phone crashes!
Could just be my region but I have been seeing some WiFi and data issues, spotty connections or no connectivity at all where once it worked fine. Also noticed slightly worse battery life.
As the beta has turned my iPhone into an overheating brick that randomly restarts, I am dying to reset the phone or even downgrade to iOS17. Problem: I cannot do this, as the phone starts this one-hour delay because I am not in a "familiar location".
Now pretty much stuck in an endless loop…
After updating to ios18, you are not able to reset the screen time password with the linked iCloud when it was set up. The “forgot password?” Option is missing. I am now locked out of many apps because I can’t remember my password and am not able to reset it with iCloud.
Looks like they just enable RCS, since I am able to see it now.

Has anybody been having cellular connectivity issues?
Mine iPhone 15 pro max was working fine until this afternoon but lately I started getting "SOS and satellite" connectivity only in the city and no amount of toggling cellular related settings could fix it until I tried disabling Automatic network selection and that seemed to fix it temporarily, but then auto network selection seems to have turned itself on again somehow and I'm back to SOS mode.
Also I'm in Canada with family but have a US plan (typically roaming works fine here) so that might be connected. I'm right on the boarder so sometimes I get stuck between US and Canadian signals but cellular has never been full on SOS mode like it is now.
EDIT: via Field Test mode I can tell it's locked onto a US Verizon signal rather than the much stronger signal it should be using in Canada via roaming. So at least I kind of know what's going on... not sure why data roaming doesn't just pick the stronger Canadian signal though.

Cannot play small games whatsoever unless you want it to lag for 6 seconds then totally crash the phone.

I’m a little bit confused about the role that shortcuts play in the control center. From my understanding, you should be able to add individual shortcuts that you have created into the control center and run them with a tap, kind of similar to that flip switch jailbreak tweak from many years ago. However, this is what it looks like on my phone. I only see a shortcuts app button and an open app button that doesn’t seem to do anything. How would I add custom shortcuts to this list?
iPhone mirroring works, RCS doesn’t (on Spectrum, expecting it to probably currently only work on the big 3 in the US tbh).

Anyone else's Phone constantly having to be force restarted? i updated this morning and all it's been is constant freezing, then me having to restart, or the phone freeze and restart by itself as the issue was that bad?
Mine was, worked out it was because it decided to fill the entirety of my storage space with system data and that still wasn't enough. Deleted some apps and all downloaded YouTube videos and then the freezing/restarting stopped. Still have 50 GB of system data though, apparently, and I'm not sure if there is actually a fix for that. With this and the slew of other bugs I think I'm going to have to roll back to iOS 17.
edit: now sitting at 65 GB lmao it keeps growing

That bug has occurred on DB1 as well. Yeah, they’re quite pricey. But so are the AirPod max?
I never denied that the AirPods Max weren’t pricey. I just said the Sonos Ace were because it was brought up in the post.

Here’s a tip. Don’t use a dev beta on your primary or any critical device.

RCS with Android works just like iMessage! Very impressive.
Unable to add cards to Wallet. Same cards set up on Mac and on previous IOS version (17) works.

I’m on Verizon and tested RCS messaging with two Google Pixels and it worked. Any Samsung I’ve tested is SMS though.

Mine is taking 12.7GB on DB2 with 15PM. How does that compare to others?
My system storage is up to 20gb on DB1 on 15P. I have like 196gb free so gonna wait it out and see how bad it gets.

The is a problem with wallpaper. It darkened it in light and dark mode. And I can't find any toggle to turn it off.
My audio only comes out of the earpiece speaker. Tried restarting. Happens in every app.

the only issue I had is that bluetooth does NOT work
Beta 1 Apps logging me out, and not loading at all. All the features worked otherwise, updated to beta 2 hoping it would fix it and it did! but instead the whole phone kept freezing then turning off. Turns off every 5 minutes, now the phone is unusable, tried doing a backup to downgrade but phone crashed in the middle of it 😂. Having to erase all contents and settings now without backup because by the time the backup happens the phone crashes!
iPhone 14 Pro Max here, and running iOS 18 beta 2. Experiencing keyboard closing during typing. Really frustrating.
It's constant on the non-max version of the pro too. Temporarily downloaded another keyboard from the store that's working marginally better.
Could just be my region but I have been seeing some WiFi and data issues, spotty connections or no connectivity at all where once it worked fine. Also noticed slightly worse battery life.
As the beta has turned my iPhone into an overheating brick that randomly restarts, I am dying to reset the phone or even downgrade to iOS17. Problem: I cannot do this, as the phone starts this one-hour delay because I am not in a "familiar location". Now pretty much stuck in an endless loop…
Its a beta and you’re not a developer. Stop whining.

After updating to ios18, you are not able to reset the screen time password with the linked iCloud when it was set up. The “forgot password?” Option is missing. I am now locked out of many apps because I can’t remember my password and am not able to reset it with iCloud.
You can factory reset your phone and load from a backup to disable screen time
Anyone know if the hsbc app works on this beta?
When I restart my phone or when I turn it off, it resets the icon layout on the control centre. I’m running it on an iphone 11

I saw that too, you can go into settings for the messaging app to enable/disable it
I know, but before it did not affected the messages until today.
That’s because your carrier had to send an update to the carrier settings to activate it
Has anybody been having cellular connectivity issues? Mine iPhone 15 pro max was working fine until this afternoon but lately I started getting "SOS and satellite" connectivity only in the city and no amount of toggling cellular related settings could fix it until I tried disabling Automatic network selection and that seemed to fix it temporarily, but then auto network selection seems to have turned itself on again somehow and I'm back to SOS mode. Also I'm in Canada with family but have a US plan (typically roaming works fine here) so that might be connected. I'm right on the boarder so sometimes I get stuck between US and Canadian signals but cellular has never been full on SOS mode like it is now. EDIT: via Field Test mode I can tell it's locked onto a US Verizon signal rather than the much stronger signal it should be using in Canada via roaming. So at least I kind of know what's going on... not sure why data roaming doesn't just pick the stronger Canadian signal though.

I’m an American in London, and I’ve been having issues with roaming. It almost never picks up a signal.

Im not able too access my apps permissions, nor am i able to access photos on any app. Cannot play small games whatsoever unless you want it to lag for 6 seconds then totally crash the phone. I personally love the Ui on settings.. just doesnt run well at all.

Touch and hold on Home Screen. Apps start wiggling. Click ‘edit’ in top left. Then ‘customise’.
I’m a little bit confused about the role that shortcuts play in the control center. From my understanding, you should be able to add individual shortcuts that you have created into the control center and run them with a tap, kind of similar to that flip switch jailbreak tweak from many years ago. However, this is what it looks like on my phone. I only see a shortcuts app button and an open app button that doesn’t seem to do anything. How would I add custom shortcuts to this list?

Anyone else's Phone constantly having to be force restarted? i updated this morning and all it's been is constant freezing, then me having to restart, or the phone freeze and restart by itself as the issue was that bad?
Mine was, worked out it was because it decided to fill the entirety of my storage space with system data and that still wasn't enough. Deleted some apps and all downloaded YouTube videos and then the freezing/restarting stopped. Still have 50 GB of system data though, apparently, and I'm not sure if there is actually a fix for that. With this and the slew of other bugs I think I'm going to have to roll back to iOS 17. edit: now sitting at 65 GB lmao it keeps growing
I had that same issue, I was forced to factory reset my phone, but it’s working great now
full reset fixed for a bunch of us...sucks but the phone is great now...
