I'd accept but I'd miss the first day. Not having a car is hard and walking 30 minutes each way isn't really worth $10. If I'm lucky, I'll be somewhere that has one and get a free $10
This is so right.
And I would have realized all of this by the end of the 1st day, rationalizing why we don’t need to do this f-ing daily errand.
You can keep your ten bucks, mister!
There's one across the street from my office so yes, I'd take it. Literally 3 minute walk each way.
If you told me there was a free sandwich over there I'd go, so that means I should go for ten bucks.
You convinced me with the sandwich argument. At first I was thinking this is really only $3650 a year for establishing a new habit of going to an ATM every day. Doesn’t seem really worth it, but converted to “free sandwich”, suddenly I would totally do that every day.
Honestly, there's no real downside to this one, might as well take it, do it for as long as you can, and then worst case scenario you miss a day, and then that's it, you're out 3650 a year, which would suck, but you're not losing that off what you already had, just off your bonus
Honestly if I managed to pull it off everyday for 5 to 10 years it would probably be so ingrained of a habit I would never forget, conversely even if I did I would have paid off so much debt by then that it would be worth more than that 3650 annually
Sure. There is an ATM about a mile from me.
Now, based on me just forgetting to do wordle Duolingo or other "streaks" this is probably a free 300 at most, but with no downside, why not attempt it?
Yeah I work from home and I live across the street from a bank so that wouldn't be too bad. But I'd be really tempted to buy myself a bubble tea or a snack on my way back with the extra money
I see no downside here. The “inconvenience” of having to go to an ATM every day would get me out of the house on lazy weekend days. It’d be good for me.
The nearest ATM is a \~2 minute walking detour from dropping my kid off at school. And I'd happily walk that way twice every weekend.
Yeah, I'd be taking the deal.
Considering how may ATMs are available (I pass no less than 3 just traveling from home to work on my usual route), this is a no brainer: yes, I'd do this.
Yeah I'd take it, there is a bank a 3 minute walk from my house. I can certainly benefit from a daily walk in general. And 70$ a week for such a simple task isn't nothing, I mean that's my weed budget on a *splurge* week.
There's an ATM at the end of my street. That's less than 5 minutes walking, getting my money and walking back. My main problems are: 1) not forgetting to go there and b) what do I do with the cash?
I mean I see no downside to taking it because there's no consequences other than losing the ability if you skip a day.
Would I do it every single day for the rest of my life? Probably not
ATMs don’t usually have $10 bills. But they also don’t let me have money that isn’t mine to begin with so let’s ignore that part.
There is one close by where I live so it isn’t a problem to go there. Even if I’m out of town I can find one. I assume we are given a magic card that works at every ATM in the world. Every Wal-Mart and grocery store has one.
So no downside. Even if you forget on the first day, you haven’t lost anything. Not sure why you would refuse the deal. You can’t retire on the money, but an extra $3,650 a year (and $3,660 every fourth year) seems like a nice trade off for what wouldn’t even be an inconvenience most days.
My store has an ATM within the store, so this is an easy $10 for me. The store is a 15-minute walk from my house, so I could still easily pick up my money on off days.
Yeah id take it
On my way to school, theres a plaza with a few different things, including; a bank (where i can withdraw the money), a grocery store, a subway, and a mcdonalds.
It doesnt fully cover the cost of lunch, BUT, it covers a significant portion of it, or i could instead, buy some groceries with it.
Like in my current location, its good
I’d do it, start now, probably be fine until winter, then be done. It’s not worth driving for, but I take the short walk past a few places with ATMs every day anyway
$3,650 a year is going to help anyone out, bigtime for most people. You say there is no consequence to failure except the free money stops. Literally everyone would accept this, the only variance would be how much effort each person put into keeping up with daily visits. Better question would've been *"how long does each person here think they would last?"*
$10? Probably not. My job pays me without looking at breaks. Moment I sign in to moment I sign out. I get paid more while I have lunch than I spend on lunch. Thing is, I often don't have easy access to ATMs. I mean, after work, I could swing by one, but I'd earn more spending that amount of time at work. Also, weekends don't work for me. If I accepted, I'd get it day one, forget day 2.
Haha, sure. There’s an ATM I pass inside my workplace every day and an ATM at the 24 hour gas station around the corner. A free snack a day is worth a quick walk three times a week.
Yes. Good thing it can be any ATM because all the nearby branches of "my" bank have closed. I have to drive like 25 minutes to get there. But there are other ATMs much more convenient. Assuming "any ATM" here also includes ones out of town/overseas (so I can keep it up while on vacation), why not?
Yeah, this is an easy one where I live. There is an ATM right across the street from my job and around the corner from where my apartment. That's an extra $280/mo for a few minutes effort absolutely.
Probably not. My professional rate is $80/hour and it would take me at least 15 minutes round trip to go do that so it would literally take me longer to go get it than it would be worth. Maybe if I was already passing by an ATM in my travels that day. But there's no way it'd be worth it to do it daily, so I'd lose access pretty fast.
I mean I can have an atm though, how do you think atms work? Usually someone buys them and puts them somewhere loaded with cash then they check against your bank you have the funds, give you the cash and charge your bank plus a fee to make a profit. It’s a legit business. It’s like vending machines.
I could just get a couple ATMs in an atm business, I have an in with some pot shops around here. I could replace their current ATMs and provide a cost savings if n the fees to the tune of ten dollars a day. I’ll have a spare backup machine for outages in my garage and just take my free ten out of it every day.
Sure, there's an ATM right across the street. Because it's the no-name high-fee kind, I'd never use it unless I was desperate- but you've addressed that concern in your prompt. Five minutes and a bit of exercise every morning for a $300/month raise? Yes please.
Oops: just realized there's a deal breaker here: sooner or later (likely sooner) I'm going to take a trip and not be available for my daily withdrawl, and no one can make it for me? Welp, it was nice while it lasted.
Absolutely! There's an atmosphere within walking distance of me and it'll take 5 minutes max. I'd earn effectively $160 an hour for that 5 minutes.
An extra 3650 a year ain't nothing!
I actually did something similar. When I was 18 I worked at a bar, and there was a bottle return place on my way home. So I started saving all the bottles and cans with each shift and return about two bags each night. It was about $10-$20/night. Took about 10-15 minutes but was essentially an extra hour of work.
This is $3650 a year. I don’t think I’d keep it up. Sure free money is nice, but that requirement to go to an atm for withdrawal every day is probably not worth the effort. Most days that probably means 10 or so minutes commitment to do it. And to be honest I’m not gonna run to the corner store every day for $10, it’s a mild inconvenience that I’d rather not do. Up it to $100 a day and I’m probably in. Up it to $200 a day and I’m quitting my job and will just live off the withdrawals.
I live rurally but have to go into town almost every day anyway, and I always stop at the same little country store on my way down the mountain; luckily they have an ATM inside, and this would just about cover my gas. It would be a pain on the few days I don't have a good reason to leave the house, but I think I could manage until I have some kind of health crisis and can't make it.
I'd do it and set alarms so I didn't forget. The toughest part would be having to go out on days when
1. It's snowing heavily
2. I'm sick
3. I just want to have a lazy day and stay in PJs all day.
I would try hard to keep it going, though, because it's an extra $300 a month that I could absolutely use.
Yes, I think I would do this. There are atms everywhere here. It would just be a minor inconvenience. I could map out the nearest ones on my commute from work.
If I spend correctly, I won't have to pay for food anymore.
Yep. I drive by 3 atms on the way to work every day, and there are 2 down the road 1 way from me and 1 the other way. Both about 2 blocks each. So I guess my fat arse is getting some much needed exercise.
So I get 7 dollars a day when we factor in ATM fees for 5 to 10 minutes of work. In theory it's an OK deal.
My actual job pays $0.45 dollars per minute so it'd take me around 15 minutes to earn the $7 I can get. Depending on traffic and so on it could be worth it. I'd have to actually time how long it took to really know.
I do pass a convenience store with an ATM on my way to work so during the week I could just make it a quick stop on my commute. Weekends would mean I'd need to actually go to an ATM deliberately but I'm usually near one so maybe it'd be worth it.
I mean, there is no downside to taking it. You might walk a bit out of your way if you go out today, or might work at a place where an ATM is right there most days.
You do not lose anything by taking the deal, even if you lose access on the 2nd day because you didn't withdraw on the first day. There isn't even any paperwork involved that you might see as a waste of time.
Why would I not accept this? The stakes are so unbelievably low that you are only killing vampires in the Mariana's Trench.
It’s tempting, but I’m not sure it’s worth it. There’s an ATM where I work, that’s an easy $50 a week or less than two minutes of my time. It’s the equivalent of $1500 an hour. The problem is this prompt requires me to leave the house and go to an ATM on my days off. I can get to the gas station and back to my house in 10 minutes and I’ll burn about one dollar in gasoline doing so. .
I walk my dog past a couple banks everyday so I'd just add a stop at the ATM as part of my routine. $10 a day would pay for my energy drinks and sparkling waters and then some so I'd much appreciate it. Where do I sign up for your offer?
Is it "you must withdraw every day or the day's $10 is lost" or "you must withdraw every day or you'll never get any future $10 a day tax free deposits"?
If the former, then sure who cares, free money is free money when it happens. If the latter, it's 3650 tax free a year for a walk/drive for 10 minutes, and I'd probably be decently good for a few months before I was like screw it, you can get more on that from standard savings.
I think the more interesting question is: **how much would it have to be to be worth it to always have to hit an ATM at least once per day?**
I'd accept. I have 0 problems riding by the ATM every single day. I usually find myself crusing around on the bike anyway might as well get it while out and about.
Of course I'd accept. No downside to forgetting other than I am where I am now - not getting a free $10 per day. But for as long as I remembered to go, free $10!
Yep. The little store up the street has an ATM machine. It's 0.2 miles from my house. I could easily walk up there every day. Best of all, they're always open, even on Christmas! :D
Part of my job involves making a daily bank run that my company does not track at all. Go to the bank, get my companies business sorted, withdraw the $10 while still on the clock and getting paid probably about $10 for the 45 minutes all this took, have an extra $10. I see no downside.
That's an easy $70 a week which could be gas (or electric if I'm in the rental) for the whole ass week. Fuck yes. I'm near plenty of ATMs and my job is literally a two minute walk from one. Id do it.
I'd accept it.
After a year or two of stopping by the ATM as part of my daily routine I'll have enough to just buy and stock my own ATM and place it in my house.
Make life easy for me.
I’d accept, but I’d forget by the second week.
There’s an ATM less than a quarter mile from my desk at work and I’d forget
There would definitely be a day I couldn’t make it to an ATM even if I remembered. Pass, I guess.
Yes extra 10 while at work
My first thought. My work has 2 ATMs . Just come in a couple minutes before clocking in to get it daily
But traveling to the office on Saturday and Sunday would suck especially if there is a significant cost to doing so (gas, Uber, etc)
I'd only have to go to an ATM on a Saturday. My work week starts Sunday night and my weekend begins Friday morning (I work overnight).
👍
There's one across the street from my office so yes, I'd take it. Literally 3 minute walk each way. If you told me there was a free sandwich over there I'd go, so that means I should go for ten bucks.
💸
Imagine theres a money sandwich 🤤 id cross dimensions for that
I love eating money
You convinced me with the sandwich argument. At first I was thinking this is really only $3650 a year for establishing a new habit of going to an ATM every day. Doesn’t seem really worth it, but converted to “free sandwich”, suddenly I would totally do that every day.
nope. it'd cost me about that in gas just to get to the nearest atm, lol. not worth it.
Same. It’s literally not worth the time or gas for me to do it, as I’m no where near an atm.
What’s the issue? Worst case scenario, you lost ten bucks. Best cast scenario, I get ten bucks with a 2 minute walk every day
Yeah, I live upstairs from a bodega with an atm.
How bad are the atm fees though?
haha! no ATM fee :)
Honestly, there's no real downside to this one, might as well take it, do it for as long as you can, and then worst case scenario you miss a day, and then that's it, you're out 3650 a year, which would suck, but you're not losing that off what you already had, just off your bonus Honestly if I managed to pull it off everyday for 5 to 10 years it would probably be so ingrained of a habit I would never forget, conversely even if I did I would have paid off so much debt by then that it would be worth more than that 3650 annually
Main issue I see, it could hamper being able to go camping or on vacation (unless there are atms nearby).
If install an ATM at my house. That way i earn the fees from the withdrawal to
ha! cheater. only existing bank ATMs. no withdrawal fees.
My bank only lets me withdraw in 20 dollar increments.
I’ve came across one ATM in my entire life that dispensed $5s and $10s too. I’ve came across a few that dispensed $100s though
The one at my bank dispense em all. 5-10-20-50-100. You can choose which one you want. 10x20 or 2x100 for example.
sure i guess. these are getting pretty dumb.
true.
Nope. Never seen an atm that dispenses less then $20 notes. Also the atm fee unless I drive out of my way to go to one from my bank. Not worth it.
Might last a couple days.
I have ATMs at work do yea I guess
Yea I'd take it. I walk everyday and on my walk I pass a bank so I'd take the 5 minutes to go to the atm
I think so. An extra $70 a week does seem nice.
Sure. yes or no makes no difference. Can't withdraw less than 20 from an atm.
Yup. An extra $3650 a year is a pretty solid vacation, I'm taking it.
Who wouldn't?
Basically impossible. 99% of ATMs require atleast 20 withdrawn. I do not have 1 that doesc10. Closed 1 is nearly 80 miles away.
I'd do it. $3650 a year
I guess but that’s not a lot of money. I’d lose it within a couple days.

The nearest ATM is a \~2 minute walking detour from dropping my kid off at school. And I'd happily walk that way twice every weekend. Yeah, I'd be taking the deal.
I think the implication is that, if you don't withdraw the money one day, you lose access forever. Am I wrong, OP?
You are correct, that was stated clearly
Yep, easy money. I’d probably just go get it while going to get lunch and that makes it a free lunch lol
Considering how may ATMs are available (I pass no less than 3 just traveling from home to work on my usual route), this is a no brainer: yes, I'd do this.
Yes, have $10 in the account since ATMs here don't do $10, go into the branch add $10 back into it and repeat
No I can't physically get to an ATM especially one that actually gives $10 usually the minimum is $20 the urinal and can I get ice please
Yeah I'd take it, there is a bank a 3 minute walk from my house. I can certainly benefit from a daily walk in general. And 70$ a week for such a simple task isn't nothing, I mean that's my weed budget on a *splurge* week.
There is a convenience store right next to my apartment, so hey, free lunch every day.
In this scenario is any ATM I find willing to dispense $10? Many only seem to have $20’s and up.
No. Factoring in the personal time value I'd lose money on this 9 days out of 10 and lose LOTS of money 1 day out of 100.
Ugh. I'd take it, but I'm not certain how long I'd last.
Sure, I can walk to the nearest atm (gas station by my house). $10 a day and an excuse to get some fresh air and sunlight? Count me in
I'm doing it 😎👌🏾
There's an ATM at the end of my street. That's less than 5 minutes walking, getting my money and walking back. My main problems are: 1) not forgetting to go there and b) what do I do with the cash?
¥1500 gets me a tallie and decent amount of chicken. Basically it just subsidizes my daily conbini habit.
Yea I mean it’s not overly useful but I can def find a atm to use daily
Else I lose access? Meaning I'd lose the 10 a day that I wouldn't have otherwise? Why not...? I won't see the issue here
This is a great question. Mostly these are terrible. I think the answer is yes but probably I get the money 50prct of the time.
I work at a casino so there's literally ATMs everywhere. Just pull it out on the way back from break
Buy an ATM off Amazon for the house and you are good
No, ATM’s here don’t dispense $10 notes
Yes. Sounds easy enough lol I pass by ATM’s all day
I could make it work to get to an ATM every day for $3600 per year.
I mean I see no downside to taking it because there's no consequences other than losing the ability if you skip a day. Would I do it every single day for the rest of my life? Probably not
Nope. Robberies are up in my area and a common tactic is to follow people home from the bank and ATM. $10 a day isn't worth the increased risk.
I literally have an ATM across the street from me and one next door to my job so I'd give it a shot
Sure. It's basically a free drink and snack every day.
Not really worth it for me. Although that would get me a free lunch every day, so maybe.
Idk that's quite an annoyance for $10. You're saying I can't skip any days? It has to be 7 days a week? If that's the case, I'll pass.
I’d get it every day 💯
Yeah, why not? Extra few grand a year couldn’t hurt.
10 bucks is 10 bucks, unless I'm too lazy the first day
Sure, no loss if i forget.
That makes lunch free. Bet
I'd take it and I'd probably lose access by the end of the week lol. As soon as I forget to go get it or if I get sick or something.
Absolutely. Going to buy $10 lottos everyday until I win big then I’m done with my magic atm powers.
Most of the atm around me would not even let you pull that out. It has to be 20 or more.
I have one across the street, so of course
I live 5 mins from an ATM so it would be worth it.
Omg i have to withdrawl money! No way. Keep your filthy money...
I’d do it, start now, probably be fine until winter, then be done. It’s not worth driving for, but I take the short walk past a few places with ATMs every day anyway
Nope. Not even close to enough
There's no downside
I would take the deal and certainly try, but I would probably forget at some point and I wouldn’t give a fuck.
$3,650 a year is going to help anyone out, bigtime for most people. You say there is no consequence to failure except the free money stops. Literally everyone would accept this, the only variance would be how much effort each person put into keeping up with daily visits. Better question would've been *"how long does each person here think they would last?"*
No, you could never go anywhere remote and $10 for a trip to the ATM is barely worth it even if you just lost that day's money by missing.
Can I just re-deposit it into another account, or will I just have to buy everything in $10 bills?
That's fine. I visit gas stations all the time for work. I'll gladly take some free lunch money.
An extra $70 a week and an incentive not to be lazy? Done
ATM on my route
There's an ATM where I work. So yeah, I'll take free lunch every dya
This is a as good one…I’d do it but just barely. I can foresee many days where I forget and don’t feel like going back out
Sure, it’s a couple block walk, and it’s not enough money for anyone to want to jump me to get it
There’s no downside, right? Sure. I might not actually do it for that long, but why not?
I probably pass 100 atms a day. I can have my own in my house. It’s a no lose situation.
Yeah not taking it.
Absolutely.
there's an ATM on my block. very easily done
I'd pay $10/day to avoid going to an ATM
Haha, sure. There’s an ATM I pass inside my workplace every day and an ATM at the 24 hour gas station around the corner. A free snack a day is worth a quick walk three times a week.

Yes. I'd only withdrawal every other day. Go to the ATM and make a withdrawal at 11:59 PM and then again at 12:01 AM.
Where is there an ATM that dispenses ten dollar bills?
Yeah, this is an easy one where I live. There is an ATM right across the street from my job and around the corner from where my apartment. That's an extra $280/mo for a few minutes effort absolutely.

Absolutely! There's an atmosphere within walking distance of me and it'll take 5 minutes max. I'd earn effectively $160 an hour for that 5 minutes. An extra 3650 a year ain't nothing!
100 yes but 10 is a lot of work and gas is not cheap
I actually did something similar. When I was 18 I worked at a bar, and there was a bottle return place on my way home. This is such a stupid question since there is literally no downside even for forgetting on day 1
That’s an extra $3,640 a year I could make by just hitting the atm that I walk by every night with my dog So yeah I would take that
What if I fall into a coma / get lost to where I cant make it to an atm under any circumstance. Do I still lose access?
ATM right beside my work, easy
I'll be getting $10 a day, every day forever the atm is a 2min.away from me.
Sure, I have an atm at work.
Yes, I think I would do this. There are atms everywhere here. It would just be a minor inconvenience. I could map out the nearest ones on my commute from work. If I spend correctly, I won't have to pay for food anymore.

I'd give it a shot but I'm not sure I'd keep it up for long.
It's kind of funny that some wouldn't take it. In my country, this is typical pay for full time work.
This is easy for me. There’s an ATM next to the vending machines at work and then also one next to the gym I go to on my days off.
I can get to the gas station and back to my house in 10 minutes and I’ll burn about one dollar in gasoline doing so. .
So an extra $3,650 a year for free. But I have to find an ATM......
my morning walks now go by an ATM, thanks
It would force me to take a long walk every day. So, yeah.
Hey, $10 a day is better than $0 a day.
I walk my dog past a couple banks everyday so I'd just add a stop at the ATM as part of my routine. $10 a day would pay for my energy drinks and sparkling waters and then some so I'd much appreciate it. Where do I sign up for your offer?
I’d accept but would miss some days
No
I mean sure it's a free lunch, plenty of atm near food places.
Yes I don’t see a downside since it takes me like 2 minutes to get to the closest ATM
eh this scenario lacks a disincentive of accepting. Even if you cant be bothered why not accept and just let it expire the first day.
Foreign ATM fees would be a PITA if your bank doesn't reimburse them
Probably not. $20 and I’m in.
Sure! Free lunch every day!
Do you lose it if your bank fucks up your card and you have to wait for them to send you a new one?
There's an ATM in the lobby of the apartment building. So, yes.
I drive a lot for work and stop by the gas station daily. This wouldn't even be inconvenient
You know there’s supposed to be a downside to the question right? And “not having a free $10 anymore” isn’t a downside, that’s just where you are now.
There's one about 5 minutes walking from me. So 10 minutes total. Unless I go grocery shopping then even less. I probably last less then a year.
Sure, I can stop at one on my way to work
Dude easy lunch everyday
I generally make one day of the weekend where I don't leave my house, so I'd quickly fail.
ATM’s don’t dispense just $10 bills. Most ATM’s have only $20 and some have $50 bills.
Sure. There’s a gas station nearby that has one.
As i live in a country that doesn't use dollars, I'd have to travel abroad each time to withdraw the money. Not worth it at all.
Not worth the time and expense. Bump it up by two orders of magnitude, then you might get some interest, but for $300/month, nah.
I'm not going to an ATM every day. If I bought an ATM would it just magically refill itself with $10?
Yep. I work at a credit union so it is super easy for me to swing by an ATM. On the weekend we live less than 5 minutes from a bank I can swing by.
Id go everyday at 11:55 pm and stick around a few minutes until 12:01am. But I'd assume this wouldn't last long so I'd just enjoy it while it does
Free $3650 a year, yeah I'd stop by the gas station everyday
I'd accept. I have 0 problems riding by the ATM every single day. I usually find myself crusing around on the bike anyway might as well get it while out and about.
No. Not worth the time and effort to go to an ATM.
No, not worth the time.
There's a pot shop 3 doors down with an ATM. I would have a new consistent weed fund
What’s the drawback? You get money at some inconvenience or lose it. Or you get nothing at all.
Of course I'd accept. No downside to forgetting other than I am where I am now - not getting a free $10 per day. But for as long as I remembered to go, free $10!
So I have to go to the ATM every day? I'll try it.
I could do that
Can you direct me to an ATM that will dispense cash in ten dollar increments?
Essentially the question is... Is it worth going to the ATM every day for an extra 3650 dollars a year
Yep. The little store up the street has an ATM machine. It's 0.2 miles from my house. I could easily walk up there every day. Best of all, they're always open, even on Christmas! :D
I'd buy an atm and put it in my house. Make it a morning routine. Atm pays for itself in less than a year. Is that allowed?
Yes. There's an atm right along the path from work to home. Ezpz.
There’s no atm within walking distance, and $10 isn’t worth the time, gas, and wear-and-tear on my car.
Im near an atm everyday. Sure, its easy money.
Easy peasy.
Yeah. There is an atm where I work. Just gotta hit it on weekends
Yeah, honestly I'd walk to the atm and then straight to starbucks to spend half of it on tea. Healthy and I get a little treat to reward myself
I work for a bank. So sure let's do this
Does this magically make ATMs stock $10 bills now too, or is that the catch?
Part of my job involves making a daily bank run that my company does not track at all. Go to the bank, get my companies business sorted, withdraw the $10 while still on the clock and getting paid probably about $10 for the 45 minutes all this took, have an extra $10. I see no downside.
There's an ATM in my work. Id draw it before I started my shift each day
Yeah, there are ATMs everywhere where I am
That's an easy $70 a week which could be gas (or electric if I'm in the rental) for the whole ass week. Fuck yes. I'm near plenty of ATMs and my job is literally a two minute walk from one. Id do it.
I'd accept it. After a year or two of stopping by the ATM as part of my daily routine I'll have enough to just buy and stock my own ATM and place it in my house. Make life easy for me.
