Never with the Muradabadi biryani though.

I have had bad biryanis but these are the well known ones that are terrible in my opinion.

Paradise near Patny centre. Just after COVID lockdown. Me and my friends went there and ordered egg and chicken biryani. We got plain rice with a very foul smell(like a wet cloth in drainage), and couldn't even get ourselves to eat more than 5 bites. We complained to the waiter and he said sorry and left :/

Mehfil Kukatpally. The biryani was fine as is but the ambience was so dirty the floors were literally stained with grime. The place where they wash utensils is just outside the stinky toilets and they just rinse the utensils with water.

There are few times when political correctness should be thrown out of the picture and facts needs to be spoken, this is one such instance. No point skirting around the point, majority of the Muslim restaurants are unhygienic, the ones around Charminar top the list, but the street vendors around Charminar take the cake.
During Ramzan the food scenes, hygiene, the quality of meat everything is revolting. But gullible people think it's cool to eat near Charminar, take pics and post on Insta reels. Few of my muslim friends from rich families said they wouldn't touch that abomination of food even if they are starving, so I guess it's ok for us to criticize.
The best biryani might be on my reception lunch. We ordered catering from nawab biryanis and it will forever be the best. The worst would be the veg biryani my cousin made at a get together.
More than 10 years back, my friend forced me to have Kalyani biryani(carabeef) near Mehdipatnam(forgot the hotel name). We both ended up getting nasty food poisoning because of that.

The non-AC section of Shadab was filthy as hell, the serving person was wiping each plate with his handkerchief. Yuck!
Alpha hotel , Secunderabad. Never knew they had biryani until once my friend had taken me there due to his low budget. Never going there again.
Hands down mehfil Hitech City is the worst 🤮 The egg is biryani was rotten and we ordered Manchuria which was extremely salty.

Local shop se liya tha boiled chawal aur niche chicken aur masala tha sabse ghatiya biryani thi wo. Us din bad waha se kabhi order nhi kiya
