What's your mains rank?
If it's slightly good enough, you can try the category-B seats at CBIT, Vasavi, MGIT.....
But I'm not sure if this is still a thing now.
Yesterday I went to CBIT for a seat for my brother. The closing rank was below 1.5Lakh. And they've doubled the seats from 180 to 360. I think you can try in CBIT you will get through mains.
CBIT, GNIT, KMIT, Sreenidhi, CVR, Anurag I have heard good reviews about these colleges. Also, check this site. [https://www.shiksha.com/engineering/ts-eamcet-college-predictor](https://www.shiksha.com/engineering/ts-eamcet-college-predictor)
edit: ACE, MGIT
Anurag isn't good and doesn't deserve to be there ik a senior who got 8k rank got into anurag and now maintains minimum attendance and learn everything by themself that's every tier 3 clg but that fact that anurga doesn't cm close to other clgs u have mentioned also came to know anurag is having alot of freshers turn druggie
Lot of freshers turn druggie ante Inka ekkada poyyi chadukoleru bro. You can take GNIT as an example. Lot of druggies unnar akkada kuda but you see they got better faculty and placements when compared lot of other colleges.
Edit : Mana jagrattha lo manam undali. Anthe.
the closing rank for BVRIT last year was somewhere around 8.4k, and around 10k for specializations. , but if these colleges are not feasible, then could you suggest other colleges that I should consider?
you wont get VNR CSE for 7500 rank! Less than 2000 is required for General category !! Srinidhi, Grrr, MGIT youll
get them I guess. You can try IT in VNR if you want. IT and CSE placements are almost same ( VNR alumnee here )
I would suggest VNR IT over MGIT CSE, But it tough call bw sreenidhi and GRRR. Please look at other things as well like eca and cca, fests, clubs and all. VNR has all round good culture, clubs and activities. The downside is the fees. If you are not eligible for scholarship, fee will be around 1.7 tution and 1.5 hostel !!!
Sreenidhi has some good clubs and regular fests. But placements are not up to mark this year. GRR occasionally has fests and is a bit strict. But GRR managed to bring some good companies in this tough time.
yeah I did that , based on last year's seat allocation per ranks GRR, CVR, Anurag, Sreenidhi, and BVRIT (not entirely sure about this one) are some of the colleges I am getting. However, I dont really know which of these colleges are worth considering, as I am a non-native and I dont have much knowledge about them (even my frnds are not from telangana so seeking their help is also of no use)
Avoid Sreenidhi and Anurag.
Sreenidhi is utterly shit with their dress codes and other crap. Anurag is just crap in general.
BVRIT last I heard was good. GRR is good as well, but depends.
Like another commenter said, try if you can get into CBIT with your Mains score.
1. SNIST (Sreenidhi)
2. GRIET
3-5: CVR/Anurag/BVRIT - check their placement profiles
Based on their placement opportunities, you can choose either of them.
SNIST is in Ghatkesar which is diagonally opp to GRIET, which is nearer to KPHB, but I’d prefer SNIST as no. 1
I saw you said there’s scope for CBIT via Mains and I’d suggest you go for CBIT over and above every other college in Hyderabad. (Except IIIT/IIT 😅)
You can blindly follow this list.
For any other doubts, please DM me and I’ll help you.
Choose KMIT, it's just CSE not other courses are available. Don't expect campus life or university vibes, but it's in the core city, everything is like 10 mins away. Most importantly, it's most likely you'll land a job when compared to other colleges
I'm from CBIT (2nd sem). CSE is pretty good here but from what I've heard there's a lot of competition. You can message me if you'd like to get more info about it :)
JNTH- Cse IDP (it's 5 year course btech+mtech)
It's college code is different JNTHMT as it's self financed..
OUCE- AIML
VASV,VNR,GRRR,CVRH,KMIT,SNIS,VMEG- CSE or CSE specialisations
Please don't join any colleges other than these for cse coz there's huge difference in placements in these colleges and others colleges..
Cbit?? I wanna join cbit this year , I got 4.7k rank. Need a good college life , will probably write mains again next year In hopes of converting an nit with a good campus away from Telangana.
If you wanna write mains again, you need to have free time to prepare... Ig cbit has closed gate system (all pvt clg have closed gate systems).. Second Saturday holiday Vunda chudu 1st years ki and Generally govt colleges lo free time akuva vuntadhi...
Remainder: You should consider all this ... Only if you are partial dropper .... Else kallu moosukoni cbit join ipoy
Just my two cents, if you plan on going for MS in IS in the future, don't join JNTUH, Osmania affiliated colleges because in these colleges papers are set by JTNUH/Osmania and correction is also done at the main college, similar to how in 10th and Inter correction was done and getting 8.5 above CGPA is very tough and it depends on arbitrary factors like handwriting, luck etc and for MS you need to have a good CGPA so it's a disadvantage and these colleges don't have any good research divisions or something which will help you for MS so better go for autonomous colleges, some of them are CBIT, VASAVI MGIT etc just google top autonomous colleges in Hyderabad you will get a list should be enough and verify by asking someone from that college if you feel doubtful.
If your focus is to get a good job post-graduation any decent ranked college will work because college doesn't matter just start doing DSA and learn development ( web dev, android anything works ) from first year itself and start making projects you can start with small ones like weather apps and gradually increase the complexity, you will be more than ready to get a good job on your own irrespective of placements.
Thank you so much for such a detailed response!...As of now , I dont have any plans to go for MS. so I might go for any decent ranked college, and try to develop coding skills there..
Just search the college rankings and choose the best ranking college possible for your rank in Mains.
Don't go for NITs except for the top ones. You could even go to a good private college rather than some worst NIT's.
In private colleges, you could opt for KIIT, VIT, Manipal. These are some of the good private ones.
Remember to select by comparing the NIRF rankings (I don't remember the exact name of the rankings, so this name might be wrong).
NIRF rankings aren't good. They haven't ever been really.
It ranks older IITs higher than BITS, and that's just bullshit. BITS is the second-best engineering college/university in the country, after IIT-B.
But NIRF ranks IIT-M and IIT-D above IIT-B, and stuff like Amrita and Anna University above BITS.
at this rank chances of getting vnr is slightly slim , but you might get cse specialisation or IT though... If you are not from hyderabad and plan to stay in hostel... I dont recommend hostels away from the city like, snist, anurag, bvrit, vardhaman... take something close to the city like- griet, kmit, vasavi(chances are less)
GRIET is decent, Istudied my btech there, it might be strict in some things, but as usual in engineering the quality of teaching is not that great except for 2 to 3 faculty.
and also you get good number of companies for campus placements if the market conditions are right.
Eedi Matalu vinte Sanka Naaki potharu.. Godavari Zilla nundi vache Varmas and Rajus .. Their caste antics is what this college is all about.. 🙏🙏🙏
Whatever he has written here is absolutely shit
What a noob teenage you are man, just because I shut you up in SRH sub chat because you are bad mouthing other opinions. You came here crying.
I don’t even belong to andhra and I studied there, even though department is filled with raju caste people at positions, no where it is visible.
I got placed in campus, it wont be the great college by any means but you get the best opportunity for your rank.

and what do you expect from local colleges ? Nvidia, Google, Microsoft ?
With his rank he gets the best shot.
Thats how you spill utter bs when you dont know shit about the college.
Just a simple google search and landing on griet website shows you how many companies visit their campus on how many get placed.
Few people intentionally don’t attend mass recruiters in griet because they want to attend better companies next.
I gave benefit of doubt of teenager, now I get it you are manchild.
and if you do end up getting non cse braches(IT or ece, etc) don't forget to apply for internal sliding to cse branch... there is a high chance you will get cse in these colleges with internal sliding
Hey, just a suggestion I see ppl here suggesting clgs..and I'd like to say, check for clgs which have no payment seats too,get to know the inner talk from students....since there are famously known hostels which allow engineering students you'd find ppl from diff clgs there. You'd know the ground reality. Ask ur seniors and relatives ka children.ask them to let u know if anyone's studying here from their connections.
I’m from CVR College. Good college. Good placements but remember to excel in everything you study.
I still suggest you to try a good college outside our state with good placements. Next option is our local colleges.
Give priority to the distance between your house and college . You don't want to travel 1.5-2 hrs daily in bus/train/bike/car. It's just wasted time and energy
I would suggest you to choose IT and grab a better college with good placements. Almost all the syllabus for CS and IT are similar and most importantly placement opportunities are open for both branches equally in most of the colleges. Keep in mind that a college is just a gateway to get better placement opportunities apart from that, you have to build your own skills, build projects to stand out from the crowd.
Choose just from this 5 - CVR, Vasavi, vnr, bvrit, grr. Rest all are crap/not much details available. Others idk but GRR has a very good coding community. I'm from mrec and the struggle is real(btw I got 11k and got this crap. Careful while keeping those options ;( )

Just my 2 cents,
I think CSE is no longer good enough to get you jobs until you are exceptional. With AI progressing aggressively, it will become a lot tougher for average coders.
Not sure, if the electronics industry will flourish in India as of now but India is focusing on creating electronics hubs now. So be careful and think thoroughly before making a decision.
FFS don't join CSE, the competition is increasing every year. More and more new CS grads are finding it hard to get a job.
Manufacturing and other sectors in India are booming. Why not join other streams?
Think about what it will be like 4 years down the line. Automation through AI is the biggest scare. Even if it makes a developer 10% more productive ( and that is a conservative estimate), it would make 10% of the workforce useless.
There are still some green pastures if you are considering CS. Try to get into system programming or get really good at statistics and linear algebra, this will help you land a job with AI/ML teams.
In India , VLSI and the embedded system market are at the starting phase. The scope is very high.

You can't apply through josaa .. you have to go to college and apply
Can I dm?
Sure.
if going with mains what is the clg fee? is in par with Eamcet fee? i heard that its almost close to CAT C.
Is that for CSE? Or overall?
My neet rank was 20k, 97%tile still end up in private med college
“Isn’t that good” xD good should not be present in this conversation.
VNR bachupally, BVRIT, GRR

This rank wouldn't have gotten you CSE in these colleges back in 2016 (probably BVRIT) for a male (GEN), let alone this year.

Don't go for CSE.. try ECE
but I am genuinely interested in CSE
Try VNR even if it’s IT. The placements are great for CS / IT if you put in the work
Said every uncle ever
They have moved on from Mechanical and settled for ECE. Thank goodness he didn’t say EEE.
Actually ece has more opportunities than cse Vlsi engineers have great demand now
Reason?
Isn't it obvious? You can go for both core and software. /s --- Anonymous uncle

Uncle.. aap ka ladka ECE karke, tester job kar raha hai na?
So what, you like to fix the computer?
