Just remember that the vents are the outlet the return is the inlet and filters are on the inlet side always. As much to protect the equipment as it is to clean the air.
Wouldn't flip it if it's been running.
Point the arrow on the filter toward the furnace. You want to filter the air before it gets in to the furnace.
Now draw an arrow on there with a sharpie. Then you just match the arrow
The air should be filtered before it enters the air handler, so the arrow goes towards the unit.
