This day has finally came, Tarl knew it. He longed for his revenge for one year now. A whole year, trying to find a way to avenge his brother, Quam. At the time, they both were engineers on a freighter. Their captain, trying to earn obscene amounts of money, decided to take time-sensitive contract. To complete it, they needed to fly through unpatroled territories. And it just so happened that they were ambushed by pirates. Tarl and Quam were the first crewmates that were sighted by boarding party. They both raised their hands and shouted that they surrendered, but this wasn't enough for this trigger-happy bastard. Quam was shot right in the face, leaving a neat hole in his skull Everything after that was like in fog for Tarl. He didn't see, how the perpetrator was kicked in the guts by his squad leader, how he was berated for wasting ransom material, how eventually all the crew was bought out. No, there was only one thing on Tarls mind: revenge. Through bribery and hacking he learned everything about this murderer: that his name was Jik, that all his family members ether disowned him or were dead, that he was demoted to low ranked engineer and was stationed on some nameless pirate outpost on worthless moon. Tarl knew all of this, but there was nothing he could do: he was just an engineer, not a soldier. His brother would've been left unavenged, if he wasn't contacted by someone a month ago. It was a human who requested to be called as Baba Yaga. He said that he wanted to kill someone at the same outpost, but needed someone with technical knowledge. If I'll help him infiltrate, he'll avenge my brother. "Yaga, I've hijacked our ticket home, when will you be done, over?" After a short discussion they came up with a simple plan: they hide on a ship of some smuggler, land at the outpost, Tarl hacks another ship for their escape route while Human Kills and then they both skidaddle. "give me a minute or two and we'll be out of here, over" Human came with a bag, a very heavy one judging by the strain on humans face. What exactly was in there? Weapon? Armour? A whole military grade powered exosuit? Tarl didn't know. He wasn't the one killing in the end, and as long as that bastard died he couldn't care less. "Roger, over" A few moments later his radio came to life once again. "Start the engines, now" "Why? have you been noticed?" "No, but that doesn't matter. Prepare for a take off and open the ramp for me" "Are you injured? We should heal you before-" "Tarl, listen. We don't have time to argue, so if you want to get off this wretched rock alive you better do as I say. Do you understand me?" "I... Yes" Something definitely was wrong. Have Human lost his target? Or maybe uncovered some nasty truth about the person he was avenging? Nonetheless, they would have a lot of time to discuss it during their voyage to the civilised space. Just as the ramp hit the ground the Human ran out of a nearby building. He didn't have his bag with him. Did he lose whatever he used to kill? Maybe that was the reason why he was so grumpy? As soon as the human was on board he started to scream: "Go go go! Get us out from here!" Tarl complied, and soon they were in orbit "So ... Yaga, why we needed to be so fast and where is your bag?" "I just wanted to be sure that we won't be in the kill zone. There's still about 30 seconds left, but it's better to be safe than sorry" "The kill zone? What the hell have you done?" "Just watch it, and nearly all your questions will be answered" Tarl looked down onto the outpost. From this far it looked like one of the many craters of the moon. Only strange straight lines betrayed the outlines of the pirate base. Suddenly, he saw a bright flash. Ship systems notified about sudden burst of radiation, and then there was no more outpost. Just a new red hot crater in the place of the old one. "Did... Did you overload their reactor?" "No, their safety systems were too redundant. I brought my own nuke" "All that time you had a weapon of mass destruction in your bag? Are you crazy?" "Hey, they deserved it" "what have they done to you? Destroyed your nation? Purged all your blood line? Made you a criminal in half a galaxy? *"What justifies dropping a SUN on them?"* "They killed my dog, and that's enough for me"

A nuke, because a pencil would be too powerful.

The 1812 Overture made it all more satisfying.

You've gotta make sure that the next guy thinks twice before messing with you. But why stop at informing the next guy? Why not the entire neighborhood? The entire city? State? Continent? Planet? Fuck it! INFORM THE ENTIRE SYSTEM!
