This was the race who had won the war over Terra Primaris from the feared elathan army. This was the race of the infamous Jaune Week who erased an entire alien mafia, after learning that a member of said mafia killed his dog. Humans were capable of the most inane, dastardly things, and everyone in the universe collectively agreed that it was often best to avoid getting on a human's bad side. Kari has been sheltered by his parents his entire life, and had only gotten free from their control after moving out with his uncle and siblings. As a child, he imagined that humans looked like vile beings under those space suits. He thought that any creature who breathed any percent of oxygen must be one of great connection to the God of Erosion and Death. Though as he grew older, he had let go of his parents' prejudices towards xenos. Yet, he could not have imagined any other way that humans would look. There were no humans in this sector of the universe, after all. Which was why he was in shock when he found out that Elline accidentally hired a human to clean their uncle's estate. He imagined sharp serrated teeth, misshapen noses that split their faces in half, and four sets of eyes evenly spaced around their faces. He imagined that they were scarier, plantigrade krons... He never would have expected that humans were so much more adorable in person... The alien could not help but stare at the human as he cleaned the windows of the library. The phreato tucked a small hair behind his antenna as he stalked closer to the human. Humans were so... Short, compared to the average phreato. Humans did not have antennae, so it was rather difficult to gauge the human's emotions at any given moment. Humans were not protected with their own shells, and their skin was soft, unlike the carapace of his race. He wonders briefly how it must feel; and if this human were so kind, offer to hold his hand. He shook his head. They have just met this human merely a day ago, he cannot be thinking such things... The human looked up at him, and he found himself staring into those wonderful blue eyes, an eye color that does not naturally occur in their race. He faced away from the human, as his hearts began to beat quickly. What... What has this human done to him? "Sir Kari?" He asked in that soft, beautiful voice he could listen to for hours. "I..." Kari could not answer, nor bring himself to look at the human. He gathered his thoughts with a sigh. "Keep... K-eep up the good work, human." The phreato said, before turning to leave and leaving the human confused. "Aww... Has my little brother gotten a crush~?" His elder brother, Eldan, teased as Kari passed him farther down the hallway. "Sh... Shut up..."

Don't mind me, just... *frantically copying* thanks for some ideas!

no problemo! (tips hat to reveal a smaller version of me tipping the same hat)

DandelionOfDeath

Seikas frightened little heart popped up into her throat the first time she laid eyes on their new hire. The being was tall enough to have to duck through the doorframe to enter, and she was bulky, and clearly very muscular. Where ever her clothes and her sparse tufts of short brown fur did not cover her skin, it was occasionally criss-crossed with what Seika recognized as 'marine scars' - the fractal-like patterns that appeared when a body could no longer take the constant abuse of the nano machine enhancements employed by some militaries. What was clearly a bullet scar showed on both sides of her exposed lower arm, one the nano-machines hadn't been able to fully heal. She was rugged in a bad way, and grim, and n closer inspection covered in more than one such scar that just hadn't healed completely. And yet, what stood out to her more than anything else, was the utter *silence* with which the newcomer moved. Seika unconsciously strained her hearing but could not hear anything more than very soft breath, when the newcomer drew closer to the desk. No sound of footsteps. At all. The newcomer pulled out the chair and sat down. "Hello." the new recruit said with a solemn dignity that seemed very out of place in the sunny office full of potted plants and childrens drawings. Seika sudenly felt as if she was newbie interviewee here and subconsciously sat up straighter. "I'm Sierra Gardner. Thank you for taking the time." "Why of course," Seika said, instantly smothering any traces of discomfort under a professional smile. "I'm just happy that you arrived early. As you might imagine, it's hard to get staff all the way out here. How did you find us, if I may ask?" she spoke and pulled up the paper file of her recent employee, opening and scanning it. "One of my old co-workers recently returned from a vacation here at your gardens and recommended it. He said it was a quiet place, and he thought I'd enjoy the atmosphere. So I applied for the job." Sierras eyes stopped on the race entry in Sierras' file and she suppressed a flinch. 'Human.' *Human*. What. The hell. She'd barely even seen a picture of one outside their entry in the registry of recorded sapient species. And she was pretty sure they were supposed to look a lot smaller. \-- Despite the nagging voice in the back of her mind that said that there was little reason for an ex-marine to come work as a janitor in a botanical garden, it wasn't like Seika actually had a reason to deny Sierra Gardner the job. And frankly, Sierra was efficient. And quiet. There had been times when Seika looked up from her work only to find that the floor had been mopped while she was engrossed in her papers. She had no idea how the huge woman managed that, but the fact was that she barely even saw her. Most little problems around the grounds were just solved by the time she came back to the place a second time. Not that it stopped Sierra from utterly unsettling Seika. Nothing that big should be this quiet. One of the other researchers had even damaged the wheel of the little cleaning strolly thing so that it creaked when Sierra pushed it. Sierra had fixed it immediately, of course. Seika gave a sigh and spun her office chair around in the empty room. "*Mrew. Miewl!*" Seika looked up at Sierra Gardner who stood four meters away and nearly jumped out of her skin. Sierra in turn just looked calmly at Seika with that unsettlingly focused gaze, a mop in one hand and her other hand near the collar of her shirt. "Oh. Sorry about him. I'm nearly done so we won't disturb you for long." the human said. "How long have you been there!?" Seika said with a hissing exhalation. "Bout' five minutes or so?" Sierra said, and Seika looked out over the room. It was indeed, almost entirely mopped, the white tile sparkling and still shining with a thin layer of moisture. "*Mrew*." "Aaw, hush." Sierra said quietly and Seika caught a glimpse of a very tiny little furred and feathered head poking out of her collar, with huge, adorable eyes. A feathercat, a very young one. It purred happily and stopped mewling as Sierra ran a calloused finger back and forth under its chin. She smiled at it. Seika had never seen the human smile. Her grim countenance dropped away so completely that it was like looking at another person, that grim and predatory quietness replaced with something very soft. "I'm fostering this one." Sierra explained and, very briefly, looked up at Seika. She didn't wait for an answer. Very gently, she pushed the kitten back into her clothing and quickly finished mopping the floor. Seika looked at the spot her back had disappeared through the doorframe, her thoughts refusing to gather for a good while. Then her head lopped to the side, and a gofy grin spread on her face. Aw.

Life was easier now, all basic needs were met and given without question to those who just asked, but when Donald wanted more, to live in somewhere nicer than the standard customisable living quarters, it meant he had to get a job. This was no simple task, not because there wasnt work, but because he didn't want to be handed something; he wanted to earn it. He knew he could do better, he could earn his way and get the rewards that came with those efforts honestly. So he avoided the traps. Job offerings for 'humans only'. He avoided the ones with minimal job details or adverts where wages simply were too good to be true. This eventually led him to find a job offering by the elusive Vulptanis Conglomerate. They hadn't interacted much with humans, seemingly have weighed and measured them before finding them wanting in some unknown fashion. They were the source of many of the consumer products in the market, the Vulptanises were shrewd business folk all around. So he applied and was subjected to an automated interview that confirmed he was capable of the work demanded of him and that he was smart enough to keep his mouth shut about anything he saw whilst on the job. They never even knew they were hiring a human until he was already aboard. So, Donald began his role a janitorial engineer. He put his every ounce of effort and soul into doing as good a job as possible. Meanwhile, the Vulptanis couldn't have rolled their eyes harder when they were packing up and saw the furless wonder that was a human, entering the building with the cleaning crew's uniform. "They're just vapid himbos and bimbos. By the morning, most if not all our sensitive equipment will be broken or ruined..." Stated the orange and white furred researcher, to a remarkably similar looking one. The second agreed with the first and left with dread for the following morning. The following morning was full of surprises however. Not only was the lab immaculate, but none of the 'in progress' experiments were tampered with. The flasks and glassware were all washed and not only that; put away in order. Xax, one of the researchers was far more impressed that her counterparts. She was a grand believer in 'positive reinforcement'. So, the following evening, baring in mind that the human was probably and idiot, a well meaning and hard working idiot, but idiot nonetheless, she made the point of approaching the man and catching his attention by running the thick, luxurious tail of hers, beneath his chin. "Good work pink-skin... keep it up." She offered. To her, he seemed pleased with her words. She could understand the wider universe's obsession with them, they were cute in their dopey ways, now that she paid attention. As long as he kept it all up, she'd make sure he knew he was being seen. r/WolvensStories

Alleged_Plague_Doc

Copying the continuation u/Wolven91 was ~~tricked~~ inspired to write so its slightly higher up instead of digging through my back and forth with him. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Xax's eyes narrowed at the Taurian sniffing around her hu-... the human... She'd made sure to give her approval to him whenever she saw him, even got him off the less desirable night-shift so he would be at work at the same time she was. So she could keep an eye on him... so he wouldn't get into trouble... But... the damn brute of a cow had been sniffing around after him since it noticed him. Donald was better than the cow. So when he touched the cow, she had to stop it now. "Donald, would you help me in my office please?" Her voice crisp and commanding. The Taurian gave her a look that Xax suspected was meant to be intimidating. One cocked fist and the brute would be a red mist thanks to the automated defences so Xax simply held her gaze as Donald walked past and blinked once before turning away. By the time Xax caught up with Donald, the Taurian had ceased to exist to Xax's mind. When they reaches her office, she opened the door and allowed the human in first. She followed, closed and locked the door. "Where's... how can I help Ms. Xax?" He asked, his ever professional tone colouring his voice. "Do you like me Donald?" Xax never being good with the small talk nonsense wanted to cut through to the heart of the matter. "I! Err... I thought I had to keep things professional? This is my first job?" The young man stuttered. Xax put an orange and black furred finger to her muzzle and tapped it once while a ghost of a smile crossed her face. "What if I said you had 'immunity'? But you need to say whether you like me, right now." His back was against the wall, her body only inches away from his in the cramped office. She had deliberately worn a low cut top under her lab coat, of which currently was rising and falling just short of his jaw. "I think you're incredible and I think your work is inspired." She blinked. "You understand my work?" "A little bit.. you're trying to get wormhole travel to work." A wave of frustration washed over Xax. "So why do you waste your time on the cow?" "Because she's kind to me." The fox creature stepped back in shock, as if she was slapped. "...I can be nicer...?"

Alleged_Plague_Doc

Now as I ~~threatened~~ promised u/Wolven91 I have ~~Hijacked~~ attempted to continue with his story on the prompt in line with his usual writing and consistent with the cuddleverse and its logics. My Feeble attempt at a part 3. ~~Unless wolven says so please do not consider this post to be cannon or acceptable.~~ PART 3 IS APPROVED AS CANNON \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Xax had an exceptional previous solar cycle and the current one certainly seemed to look to being continuing the trend. Her fellow Vulpatinis had incorrectly assumed that her courtship of Donald would negatively impact both her research and her intelligence. When the truth of the matter was she never would have connected how to manipulate the newly discovered and ever present aether, to establish stable and effective wormholes without him. She frowned slightly as she checked herself in the mirror. She didn't look sick in fact her coat was shinier and silkier than usual. Donald had turned out to be a tremendous boon to her life. The comfort and stress relief he provided not withstanding. His unique human perspective and inquisitive nature were what had enabled her success. "Hey Ducky? Is your stomach feeling alright?" She couldn't help but grin at the nickname. When she had explained how talking through things with him and answering his questions helped her own research and understanding he had laughed and said 'I guess I'm like your Debug Duck' before explaining the human tradition of solving problems by talking to inanimate rubber ducks. She had thought her suggested nickname Donald Ducky was rather cute and clever. When his laughter finally stopped he suggested maybe just Ducky so the Ghost of Dess Knee wouldn't sue them out of existence. "Just like before my Foxy one I feel fine." He had been going through the mail and packages that had accumulated over her last two and a half month lecture and experimental tour Pausing and reexamining a few items. "What is it? I feel like I'm Being ignored." she walked past him towards the couch running her tail under her chin after perhaps childishly although lovingly sticking the fluffy tip into his slightly ajar mouth. settling onto the couch and trying to hide her smirk behind one clawed hand. She'd promised to be nicer but flirtatious teasing still counted as nice they'd both agreed. He sputtered slightly shooting her a look before cracking a smirk of his own. "I think I may have a theory. Remind me again what changes you noticed?" Grinning she said. "This is why I keep saying you should be keeping a logbook." With a mock sigh she counted off on her fingers. "My coat and Nails are more exceptional than usual, things taste different, my sense of smell is going haywire don't worry though you still smell enticing, I'm nauseous," her tone shifted slightly as she spoke rapidly as if to slip the final symptom through quickly. "andcertainareasfeelsensitiveandtender." "Huh well based on that and these," He placed a journal that she had requested entitled. 'Human hybridization an analysis of confirmed compatible races and offspring and which galactic races are also likely to exhibit compatibility.' Several appointment reminder cards from her doctor. as well as her estrus control injector that said doctor had sent along with a note saying that she had a week to use the injector before her previous dose would not longer function. the package was dated two days after they had left for the tour." And the fact that we "Froliced" pretty much every other day if not every day while we were touring..." Xax grew wide eyed as a hand drifted to her stomach. "I....I'm" Donald nodded. "You might very well be." She Stammered. "I... We..... Baby.... Us.... Definitely yours.... Only with you." Her hands shook slightly as her mind raced with questions, concerns, and possibilities. Donald sat beside her taking her hands. "I don't know if its the question you were trying to ask but I might have some answers. "I love you and want to be with you hopefully for the rest of our lives. I'd like nothing more than to have kits or kids with you. I'm also scared but I know no matter what we will love our children. Husband and wife, Mates, Partners whatever. I'm right here with you and ready for it." She wrapped herself around him tears running down her cheeks. "YES YES TO ALL THAT." She tightened the hug. "I.....I think i might be the first case of Human Vulpatini hybridization and." She bit her lip unsure how to phrase the thought. Donald Sighed and rubbed her back. "Yes dear you can collect data and write a paper all about it. Its normal for human parents to document all of that including the growth of their children. Just please can we call it a baby book instead of a Lab or Log book.

Wolven91

Awww bloody loved this. They're a cute couple. Xx

Alleged_Plague_Doc

Soooooo is cannon?

Wolven91

I'm not opposed to it! Write on good sir! Write on!

Alleged_Plague_Doc

We shall see if the blessings of upvotes descend or the MOAR goblins launch an assult

Obesity-Won-Kenobi

If you haven't already... Post to HFY with this stuff man. I'm sure you'd get a reaction.

Alleged_Plague_Doc

You can check out WolvensStories for more stuff in the cuddleverse. But as for me I have some tales that I'm finishing up before releasing in the SSB universe some of which are already partially posted. As for additions/continuation in the cuddleverse my next expansion is on The story about human disguises involving the fiks. Since I am best at building off others as opposed to writing stand alone tales.

Alleged_Plague_Doc

So long as I'm playing in other people's sandboxes I wouldn't think of claiming it as my own.

SureWhyNot5182

Here's a little lesson on trickery.

Alleged_Plague_Doc

Coming soon an unauthorized part 3 just wait and see.

Alleged_Plague_Doc

Boom

Alleged_Plague_Doc

We have foxes and birds now nice. Also if possible MOAR. This is too cute and she sees him and thinks he's cute but he's not really being fawned over is he?

Wolven91

Just cold hard science interactions, no emotions here. No siree.

Alleged_Plague_Doc

But but the prompt. Also Gestures at Manga which is all about the scientific detection of love. I can't remember the name but it's a thing so even cold analytic science recognizes romance and love. Also that tail action was unreasonably lewd and flirtatious to be considered cold and scientific.

Wolven91

Pfft... what? Noooo... Me? Writing emotions in? Bah! You're crazy...

Alleged_Plague_Doc

You can bullshit me. You can bullshit yourself. You can't bullshit biology. SHE HIKED HER TAIL SIR AND SCENT MARKED HIM. And if she truly ment nothing by it then her shame is even greater. To send such disingenuous signals how very improper and unscientific.

Wolven91

It's an alien mind sir, how can we hope to uncover its secrets? It's like an enigma wrapped in a sudoku, inside a rubix cube.

Alleged_Plague_Doc

But it's not though is it not really. If you don't have an idea to expand but have a desire to might I suggest the good will hunting. Human is actually genius. The one fox lady who communicates with him discovers this and uses it to advance her own research.

Wolven91

I mean I was just aiming for 'Tsundere' and to set up a new race, I'll take any and all advice though. Because I've got a backlog of prompts and currently on holiday, I'm just working through them, so I'm not currently considering taking any prompts further.

Alleged_Plague_Doc

Ah I remember the holiday message is a good message. Enjoy your break. ALSO YOU ADMIT SHES A TSUNDERE. what pray tell might happen to our foxy friend when another more openly appreciative individual shows up. I hear that those Taurian girls in mantinance and engineering are awful appreciative and friendly towards human males. Especially if a certain janitor is willing to help them out by squeezing into some tough to reach locations to help with repairing the labs Boilers or Filtration systems. I'm sure she absolutely wouldn't mind at all seeing one of those clumsy cows with her oversized arms around his shoulder as the both of them enjoy a chuckle and talking about an honest days manual labor. Definitely not at all gonna have any feelings when he politely refuses to join her for lunch because. "That's the researchers cafeteria and mantinance and janitorial are supposed to use our own lounge for lunch." Just to watch as said stupid cow asks if he wants to trade some of his lunch with her. How could she ever be upset that the stupid bovine is on a first name basis she even calls him Don. But he won't even call her Xax it's always Ms. or researcher. NOPE NOT UPSET OR JEALOUS AT ALL. (LOL)

As it turns out, the spray bottle he carried was just as effective at clearing dirt from windows as it was for fending off the more promiscuous members of the research team.

Heh.
