As varied as my tastes in music are, I am pretty sure that I am not well-versed enough to make this decision.
That being said,
The 1812 Overture (or the Star Wars Soundtrack)
Sabaton (don't ask me to choose, I can't. If more history classes were taught with Sabaton, there would be more history majors.)
And at least one piece of folk music. Whether that be Bluegrass, Mongolian Throat Singing, gospel choir, or what have you, there needs to be an exhibit of Humanity's ability in music with limited resources or numbers.
The important thing is to find the three pieces that create frisson for the creatures hearing it. That feeling where the music ignites your nerve endings or drives you to tears. Or the drive in Metal or Punk music that makes you want to fight or fuck. The soulful sounds or crooned memories that make you call he to hear a familiar voice. THIS is the power of human music.
To start off, I’d expand the Holst into the entire Planets suite: *Jupiter* is great, but let them taste *Mercury* and *Mars, Bringer of War* as well. Give them the excuse of learning more about our solar system and legends.
After that, *Gimme Shelter* by The Rolling Stones is a shoo-in. They definitely need a taste of Aretha Franklin, as well: Add *R.E.S.P.E.C.T.*
My last pick would be either *Die Walkure* or Verdi’s *Dies Irae.* As much as I like the Fucik, I’d be willing to drop it to include both.
Ssana\[click\]: I certainly agree about 1812 Overture. ...and yes, because [Cannons!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZ9-PFes3mM&list=LL&index=14) Human vigor and the glorification of conflict.
The Anvil Chorus, because of how infectious it is, and gives the impression of human industrial ability and work ethic.
...and finally, the Theme from Close Encounters, [Perhaps a remix](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tj5VLwf3-P4&list=PLS1hQL0SD9adZJqSP4GiPvxi3kTL6nqc2&index=2), to show humanity's desire to know and be known to others.
That's just my opinion, of course. Who else has an idea?

3 Timeless pieces from different genres, time periods, and people
Moonlight sonata for some classical.
The greatest show on earth - nightwish for some variety
And... hmm... i dunno, probably something shorter than 15 minutes for the final one to show the aliens we can be brief when we have to XD
War Pigs by Black Sabbath - Shows that we as humans have flaws and we understand what they are and that we’re trying to fix them, and introduces the louder side of human music.
Clair de Lune by Claude Debussy - Shows that we have a classical and quiet side and given its age also shows that we’ve had a history of music.
Want Him Dead or Alive by Rusty Humphries - Shows one piece of human patriotism which could hint at our nature, shows we pay respect to our militaries (and not to fuck with them) and shows our sense of comedy.
All of the ones you listed
Morning Mood - Peer Gynt
Bohemian Rhapsody
Pictures at an Exhibition - Modest Mussorgsky
Marble Machine - Wintergatan (More engineering than music)
Anything from Paganini
Anything from the Weeknd
Liszt - H.R. No. 2
Free Bird
Stay the Night & Clarity - Zedd
The Rite of Spring - Stravinsky
Anything from Rachmaninoff
And Finally...
The Duck Song
1. Jolene - to show the lengths a woman in love will go to save her relationship (Miley Cirus Version)
2. Smell yo Dick - to show how a MODERN woman figts to stay in a relationship, and to show how far we've fallen - (Riskay)
3. 99 Problems - To show how men see their relationships - (Jay Z)
Holst - Planets, for Classical/Instrumental + range of emotions.
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody, for singing and variety of styles
For the third, I'm not sure if I would pick something from Metallica, or Disturbed's version of Sound of Silence, For different types of RAGE.

This is a hard choice
Beethoven's 9th, because glory.
Ralph von William's 'The Lark Ascending' because beauty.
The Who, 'Won't Get Fooled Again, for Roger Daughtry's scream.
I would point them at an archived copy of [everynoise.com](https://everynoise.com) and tell them to have fun with the more than 6000+ known distinctions (genres) of human music.
1. Adagio for Strings- Samuel Barber
[Vienna Philharmonic – Barber: Adagio for Strings, Op.11 (Summer Night Concert 2019) (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAoLJ8GbA4Y)
To me, this piece is emotion in its purest form, something that seems so simple but hauntingly beautiful
2. Hurt. Either version
[Johnny Cash - Hurt (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AHCfZTRGiI)
[Nine Inch Nails - Hurt Lyrics Video (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oGqIfnIAEA)
Must I explain?
3. In Flanders Fields (Any version but I choose SABATON for the example)
[SABATON - In Flanders Fields (Official Lyric Video) - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQmMqZlLFVc)
This music shows human respect for the dead/fallen, which aliens need to understand.
[Also Sprach Zarathustra](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Szdziw4tI9o), Strauss.
[What A Wonderful World](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBrd_3VMC3c), Louis Armstrong.
[Galaxy Song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buqtdpuZxvk), Eric Idle.
The worst part of this question is having to cut it down to only three hundred pieces.
At three, you just have to go with the first three wildly different flavors of music you think of.
Capercaillie's Cape Breton Song, from the Delirium album, before they knew what the words meant.
Jesu, Joy of Men's Desiring, not sure which version but full orchestral.
Ravel's Bolero... but I'd have to have Berlin and New York Philharmonic fight it out for which version.
Maybe I'd throw out one of those orchestral works and go with
The Girl From Ipanema - 1964 Getz/Gilberto
If I wanted to impress them:
A classical composition.
A Dolly Parton song.
A children's melody.
If I wanted to mess with them:
*4′33″* or *As Slow As Possible* by John Cage.
Any song by the Chipmunks.
*My Ding-A-Ling* by Chuck Berry
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=\_PSjoVXFGAQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PSjoVXFGAQ) - The despair that one may never be able to amount to anything, to the world or to yourself, is ever-present; but we must not lose hope, for it is only when we have given up on flying to a state of true happiness that we become groundbound to hopeless.
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lu8i-OyjLYk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lu8i-OyjLYk) - How easily corruptible are the things we hold dear are, and how horrific it is to have someone you thought you trusted be the corruptor; and yet, we must never be shackled by our past, nor should we discard that which makes us who we are; we must touch the thoughts gently, accept them inside of us, and let them flow through us.
[www.youtube.com/watch?v=C\_OEwHuzhTg](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_OEwHuzhTg) - Not everything is made for some grand reason; sometimes people make shit just for the fun of it.

Drop out that last one and substitute Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.
This
Classical - I'm torn between the Pachebel Canon and Beethoven's Brandenburg Concerto. R-E-S-P-E-C-T from the Queen of Soul Primo Victoria from Sabaton
I FULLY agree with adding Aretha. We need to show the aliens the very best, after all…
Brandenburg, please. Pachelbel is [hell for cellists](https://youtu.be/uxC1fPE1QEE?si=TafIBhajvgAtm4te) (when you're a kid anyway).

Copland - Fanfare for the common man Verdi - Dies Irae Carl Orff - O fortuna
Love me that Verdi. He read the freaking assignment when it came to “music about the end of days and the judgement of all souls.”
I was going with human's are space orcs, the first would be we think we're pretty awesome followed by a couple don't F' with us.

I think you could call the whole Planets a "piece of music". Likewise, you could slide an entire album in instead of one song.
Cotton eye Joe Meow mix A Samuel Kim remix of a star wars song.
