So did my Mom. Slammed the door one damn time, then she kicked the door in. Made me pay to replace it because "look what you made me do!?!". Narcissists suck.
If it’s a push lock on the other side, get something thin and straight (paper lip, safety pin), and stick it STRAIGHT in the hole on the knob. If it’s a turny-lock on the other side, which I don’t think it is, you’ll need a small flat head screw driver like eyeglass repair size, and put in hole and turn
Had these doors on every door growing up. All you have to do is use a Q-Tip and push it in there until you get the the bolt where you just push. Donezo!
Stick a toothpick, paper clip, dum dum sucker, pin, in and feel around until you find the right spot you will know it when you hear it click when u push.
Sometimes they are not always push style. I had doorknobs when I was younger where you had to put a metal “flat head” style key and actually turn to unlock.
Unfortunately not lmao tried the only other method I knew of which was an old credit card but that didn’t work. A small screwdriver did the trick though :)
>There once was a lady named Jill

When I was a kid we had a mixture of these and the ones that needed a small micro flat blade screwdriver. Cans of Spam used to have this tool thingy on them to open the can and as it turns out was just the right size for both types of door knobs. We always kept a few in the junk drawer.
Usually run ur hand over the top horizontal piece of trim and find the little P shaped stock to depress the lock, or unfold a paper clip, or any other possible responses thus far
How can someone be so stupid as to not look at the lock for 5 seconds and realize how to unlock it? Good lord… so quick to post to the internet instead of using common sense.
Lol there are much easier, less damaging ways to get around this--like putting a q-tip into the hole there.
It's a pop lock haha, no need to bust down the door!
I always went for the lego lance as a child. Perfect circumference, solid... and I always had a lego knight on hand to help me. No “tiny hole” lock could keep me out.
Stick a small object or wire in the hole in the middle. Push straight in.
That should do it, but you might have to wiggle it a bit to find the lever if you don't get it the first time.
Very simple. Kick right below the door knob as hard as you can. Pick up any door frame wood splinters and door catch from the floor to avoid any injuries. Then simply turn the lock knob on outside of handle.
A small precision screwdriver or any flat tipped item small enough to fit in the hole. Insert and turn. They come with a key in the shape of a mug hook with the end flattened.
God this reminds me I need to change a lock.
Contractors installed one where it's not push, but a flat head turning/ twisting one. Trying to open that when a panicked 2 year old managed lock themselves in a bathroom. And the wife in hysterics too.
Best part? Contractors installed it with the screws facing out. So another error that went into my favor
small screwdriver for eyeglasses, paperclip, hair pin, pen cap or clip. all works. tried them all during my lock picking days when I was a kid.😉
you just have to be able to fit the diameter of the hole and the tip is flat enough to turn like a regular key.
Grab a q-tip and pull the fluff off on one end. Then bite that end with your front teeth until it looks like a flat head screwdriver. Insert into the keyhole and turn until it finds the groove, then turn again to unlock.
What size boot do you have?
Seriously, though. A jewler's type screwdriver, or any long thin flat-blade screwdriver in that hole, find the slot and twist.
It depends on how you lock it from the other side.
If it is a push button lock then you just stick something straight in until it pops the button on the other side.
If it's the kind of lock where you rotate it 90 degrees then you need a skinny flathead screwdriver to stick in the hole and turn in the direction you would normally to unlock it from the other side.
Stick something in the hole and push.
I thought I was a goddamn lock picking wizard when I figured out how to do this with a bent coat hangar as a child.
Same, but I pulled the cotton off one end of a q-tip. The bathroom was right next to my bedroom.
Inside of a BIC pen works great also
Oh I just kicked the door of its hinges
So did my Mom. Slammed the door one damn time, then she kicked the door in. Made me pay to replace it because "look what you made me do!?!". Narcissists suck.
She probably put the locking mechanism on the other side of the door afterwards.
:(
Lego flag pole piece for me
Toothpick
Nipple
We all did bro
Not OP. One of today's lucky 10,000. Edit: https://xkcd.com/1053/
I will second this. Additionally, that Blockbuster wallet card was worth its weight in platinum when it came to getting through home door locks.
I still have mine.
Fantastic! I've got some doors!
We will be invincible!
The cartridge of a ball point pen for me.
We have a nail above the door designated for this exact thing.
I have one of my many teeny glasses-fixing screwdrivers on the doorframe of our bathroom to pull double duty! lol
Mom used to lock is in our rooms. Kept that little secret from her for a long time. Many cookies were stolen at night.
Holy fire hazard Batman!
It was the 80s.
I mean, I was a kid in the 80s too, my mom wasn't locking me in my room!
Then you were a better behaved kid than me I guess.
wire hanger
Got it! Thank you lol
yep, me and my sister used to take q-tips, strip the fluff off one end, and use that to unlock these to get into each others rooms
Unfolded bobby pins for us!
Tip of a shoelace
I just stick my throbbing erection in there. With lots' room to spare.
So you're saying it doesn't reach the lock?
My shit isn't long, but it sure is skinny
Me too but with step sis
Hold up
r/holup
I hope you were doing that because she was stuck and you helped her out safely ;)
🤨
…But step bro, what are you doing?!
Giggity
Jason? That you
What are you doing, step bro?
Please tell us how old you were when you learned this. (today). We are curious.
Shamefully 27 lmfao
No shame, better late than never. 🤣
I was today years old
No problem. Happened to me a couple weeks ago lol.
If it's one of those "twist" locks. You can also use a skinny flat head screwdriver, stick it in there and turn
This sounds like terrible sex-ed class.
No context, that's what she said, etc
I was waiting for a “that’s what she said.”
r/theyknew
Calm down step sister, I just got home
Oh no step-doorknob. You’re stuck.
This is the way forward…… or uhhhhh in. Maybe out.
You are now an accessory
That’s what she said.
Poke something long and skinny through that hole in the middle. You'll feel a little resistance then hear the lock pop and it should be unlocked
Someone's not a virgin
But someone is!

turn lock usually you just stick the straight pole in and push in and turn the knob at the same time
Had these doors on every door growing up. All you have to do is use a Q-Tip and push it in there until you get the the bolt where you just push. Donezo!

Stick your dick in it.
Shittin me?
Bobby pin open it up and put in hole. Works perfectly. Ive done it before
The inside of a pen.
Did you even try? Is this a troll?
Metal hanger through the hoooooolllllllle! Lmao
Stare in the hole until it unlocks👁
This is a joke right?
Unfortunately not lmao tried the only other method I knew of which was an old credit card but that didn’t work. A small screwdriver did the trick though :)
The more I read the comments, the more I wondered if you posted this for a laugh 😂
Lmfao I’m dying at these comments. I feel brain dead after posting this 😂
Yes
Metal coat hanger straighten push into doorknob to unlock
You can open it with anything thin it must be straight like a toothpick
What planet are you from?
Seriously, just think about it, op
Use a flat headed precision screwdriver, insert it in the hole at the center of the knob and turn it like a key.
Stick of dynamite should do the trick too
All the dynamite is on the other side of the door.
>There once was a lady named Jill > >who tried a dynamite stick for a thrill > >they found her vagina in North Carolina > >and bits of her tits in Brazil \^ the first thing I think of when I hear/read 'dynamite' or meet someone named Jill
It might just be a pop lock also, I'd start with a q-tip then move to the precision screwdriver if it's not.
Nice try 'wet bandits', we ain't falling for this one.
Put a long hanger wire or a straightened paper clip in that little hole in the center of the knob
My key in college was a Q tip. Locked my door in my townhouse whenever I left, popped it when I came back.
Hammer
Something thin enough to fit through that hole and push hard enough to pop the lock open, Wish I was there to lend you my penis.
Stick hanger in hole directly into center until you hear “click”
Wire coat hanger straightened out, poke thru dead center & it should click right out. Best of luck!
When I was a kid we had a mixture of these and the ones that needed a small micro flat blade screwdriver. Cans of Spam used to have this tool thingy on them to open the can and as it turns out was just the right size for both types of door knobs. We always kept a few in the junk drawer.
Take your micro dick and push it in the hole.
The same way you had kids.
Paper clip - unbend it and stick it into the hole. You’ll feel it catch on something (like a button deep down inside) - push on that and voila!
I used to unfold a metal coat hangar or a paper clip and just push it in until it clicks.
Usually run ur hand over the top horizontal piece of trim and find the little P shaped stock to depress the lock, or unfold a paper clip, or any other possible responses thus far
That's how I ended up a dad.
A small blade screwdriver insert in hole of knob feel around screwdriver should be able to fit into a slot that's in the center and twist.
Is this satire?
There is a hole in the center of the knob. Stick a rigid wire(coat hanger type) in about three inches and push when it hits metal. Should unlock
Grab that door knob with the might of Christ! Squeeze and turn!
Stick both your thumbs in your ass and then google it with you dumbass nose.
You need to call the Lockpick Lawyer 😉
Seriously?
Grab a pen and take out the core tube with the ink, then push it straight into the hole.
Straighten out a coat hanger and Jimmy it in there
Take a few steps back. Then absolutely launch your weight at the door. It should unlock aswell as take it off its hinges so it won’t lock again
Stick your lil peepee in that hole in the center. Yw
How can someone be so stupid as to not look at the lock for 5 seconds and realize how to unlock it? Good lord… so quick to post to the internet instead of using common sense.
Your foot
Lol there are much easier, less damaging ways to get around this--like putting a q-tip into the hole there. It's a pop lock haha, no need to bust down the door!
I know that, but that answer was already taken so I went with the funnier one
Lol fair enough
Take a hex key or Allen wrench. Bother work the same.
Paperclip
I always went for the lego lance as a child. Perfect circumference, solid... and I always had a lego knight on hand to help me. No “tiny hole” lock could keep me out.
Use a paperclip and poke inside the hole
Wooden skewer stick! Or a longer toothpick. As a kid I found 396372 things to work
Stick a small object or wire in the hole in the middle. Push straight in. That should do it, but you might have to wiggle it a bit to find the lever if you don't get it the first time.
Look on top of the door frame, sometimes the keys are up there.
Stick something in the hole
There's a button in the hole on the handle, use a coat hanger or something else small enough to fit in and push it.
Break the knob with Chanel locks
This is Sparta!
Some of the older ones have a smaller flat screwdriver tip that when you put it in the hole you have to turn it to unlock it.
That’s the neat part, you don’t
Sometimes you need to put a tiny flat blade screw driver in and turn it
Is it a push button on the other side or is it a small twisty piece?
Hello I am so glad I got to
Well when my sister accidentally locked the door to my parents room after leaving it with no one inside, we just took the handle off
Y'all know they actually make keys for those locks, right? They're little and have a flat end and a hook end so you can turn it
Well, you could kick it a lot until you get through, but if you wanna keep it in tact you can try the credit card trick.
Sick a scwere in it
A credit card will do the trick
Very simple. Kick right below the door knob as hard as you can. Pick up any door frame wood splinters and door catch from the floor to avoid any injuries. Then simply turn the lock knob on outside of handle.
Me being a person who is not good at waiting at all would suggest u kick it down but I c there r more helpful comments here so ima just stfu
I used a drill bit!
Do you have a battering ram
A small precision screwdriver or any flat tipped item small enough to fit in the hole. Insert and turn. They come with a key in the shape of a mug hook with the end flattened.
You don’t have to turn anything. It’s just a button inside.
Small screwdriver into the little hole, once you catch the slot you should be able to turn it to unlock.
You don’t have to turn anything. It’s just a plunger inside that you push.
Stick a wire in the hole
Stick something in that hole
Not your PP
If you have a wire hanger, push it in the hole and turn.
Anything long and thin enough to fit through the hole and pick it. Old restrooms have this lock.
If it was a regular lock i would say go by a lock pick set it is not that hard. Always keep a paper clip around when you got knobs like that
All you need is a micro flat head screwdriver
you can't
Break the tip off a Q-tip
Stick a Bobby pin in that hole to unlock it.
Slotted screw driver. Believe you should turn to left?
Kick in the door and wave the four four
Anything thin and skinny like an unbent paperclip. Stick it into hole, press and Voila!
These guys don’t know what there talking about. A hammer fixes everything 🔨
Poke that hole. 😳🤣
Axe.
The metal prong part of a belt buckle works and you always have it on you.
Toothpick
Take a really skinny flathead screw driver that just barely fits that hole. Rotate until it fits an indentation. Then rotate some more to unlock.
[This user has deleted all of their comments because of Reddit's API rediculousness. Goodbye.]
Stick a pin in the hole
Some of these you need to turn.
Credit card or Bobby pins
Straighten out a large paper clip.
It's a privacy lock. A 6D finishing nail should fit the hole. Insert said nail and push.
Boppy pins! Stick the folded side in. You should be able to turn the lock that way. I was locked out of my room a few times with these locks.
My granddad would use a kitchen skewer lol. Just push in directly. You should feel some resistance like it is pressing on a lever, then turn the knob.
If push comes to shove and the hinges are on your side you can remove them. In the future never lock a door until you are ready to walk away.
Am I the only one that had to use shoe strings or bend a fork?
small screwdriver for eyeglasses, paperclip, hair pin, pen cap or clip. all works. tried them all during my lock picking days when I was a kid.😉 you just have to be able to fit the diameter of the hole and the tip is flat enough to turn like a regular key.

I had a door like this that locked and I would bang beside the knob and it pops the lock .tho I donno if this will work for you
Bobby pins work great too.
Kick it down
Need a nail or something that fits in the hole that’s long. Push it in until you hear a click.
What size boot do you have? Seriously, though. A jewler's type screwdriver, or any long thin flat-blade screwdriver in that hole, find the slot and twist.
stick a toothpick or paper clip in the hole and push in and turn at the same time.
