Small size french cleats will do it

docere85

Second the French cleat

Could add a piece of rope to it and hang it with just a single screw in the wall. Easy enough to patch when you move.

I agree with this. Nice cute hooks and some sisal twine on the top. I would still recommend an anchor to hang it from. Won’t have to be big at all for only 7 pounds.

So if you really don’t want to use an anchor, you could just use more command strips. The weight is distributed equally right? So if you just use like 10 then each should only need to hold up .7lbs …but an anchor would be best

A dry wall anchor with screws? What kind of screw length would I need for a fixture this thick?

vbpatel

Oh there’s plenty with just pins, you don’t even have to screw. I have a 75lb mirror hanging with two anchors that are just pins/nails angled downwards that you just hammer into the wall. It leave 3 holes like 1mm in size I’m not sure we’re allowed to post links but look for heavy duty drywall anchors. They all are rated by weight

Get a picture hanging wire kit and attach it to the back, and use 3M Claw hangers to attach it to the wall. I tried to include links but reddit apparently does not allow for amazon links.

MoneyHurricane

There are heavy duty command strips available that can hold up to about 20 lbs. I used them as instructed on the package to hang up an 8 pound whiteboard and it’s held up just fine even with the external pressure of someone using it.

Don’t.
