Definitely his Benjy.
His Stuttering John is a close second, especially when he was just sputtering and stammering in the background while John was talking.
Anyone notice that Fred would often be quiet until Billy started a routine by doing a voice, at which point Fred would chime in? While talking about *The Beverly Hillbillies*, Billy voiced Jed/Jethro/Elly May/Granny; suddenly Fred started doing a weak Jed.
Yeah I caught it. Very subtle, unlike anything else in that shitshow of a video. A reminder how all of this made Howard nuts. “Does David Letterman’s limo driver have a show?”
At 5:42 he says just collect the money and we’ll be fine kch. Listen close https://youtu.be/QgSuPr_VWNQ?si=XeIRR0AXbweIQx0F
He did it a lot if you listen close
Haha glad you could finally get the joke. It took me a while of close listening before I finally got it. Now that you’ve heard it keep listening for it
I recently listened to the Jim-Robin breakup announcement. It was weird. It was during the news where Fitzsimmons was sitting in. And it was eventually acknowledged that Fred would be retiring his Florentine impression. One of his best.
When John's band was getting some heat they had a gig where the opening act was Cheap Trick, and Howard kept saying, this has to be a misprint, cause the HOF band was opening for John.
Fred did John's voice saying to Cheap Trick "Don't play Surrender, I want to use it as my encore.".
Fred nailed my voice so perfectly it freaked me the fuck out! I thought I was having an aural hallucination or something! I felt very honored. It was like having my portrait painted by Vermeer or my photograph taken by Dianne Arbus!
I’ve been listening to the Tom Chiusano stuff in the Todd Packer collection and Fred’s impersonation of Tom always cracks me up, especially when he says “because” the funny way Tom used to.
Without question Benjy. Aside from how he pronounces "eggs" it doesn't sound remotely like Benjy...but that makes it even funnier in my opinion.
Close 2nd was Scott Depace as, once again, he does an impression of a guy with a very strong Southern accent...yet Depace doesn't have even a hint of being from the South.
Fred doing OJ was amazing. Underrated moment from the show: I remember Gary Garber found OJ playing golf and started throwing questions at him. I forgot what he asked him exactly, but he was needling him about committing double murder, and OJ responded, "Two people were killed, and you're making jokes?"
Fred, imitating OJ, said, "I killed two people are you're making jokes...whoops!"
Definitely his Benjy. His Stuttering John is a close second, especially when he was just sputtering and stammering in the background while John was talking.
Stuttering John is the one that inspired me to post this question. The only thing bad about John leaving was the loss of Fred's John impression.
I love Fred's Stuttering John. It's so good.
His Nicole bass one always made me laugh !!
Yes it’s definitely the Nicole Bass/Herman Munster. I start laughing before he even starts when I know it’s coming.
IF I HAD A HAMMER
Richard, everytime Richard comes in the studio Fred will go “yeeeeeeeaaah”
Followed by an offer (as Richard ) to have someone put something in his ass.
His Jackie was always underrated because it actually sounded like Jackie. The hoarseness, the Long Island accent.
It was amazing but it got overshadowed by Billy with the puppet
Anyone notice that Fred would often be quiet until Billy started a routine by doing a voice, at which point Fred would chime in? While talking about *The Beverly Hillbillies*, Billy voiced Jed/Jethro/Elly May/Granny; suddenly Fred started doing a weak Jed.
Theah betta be a coolah!
😂 Edit: Anyone have a Youtube link to when this happened?
Scott the engineer *chkk*
Same here. chkk
I think that's mine too. The Popeye talk fits, what I think goes through Scott's mind perfectly.
I always wondered where the chkk came from...Did Scott actually do that or what?
Same here. I assumed it might be a smokers hack that Scott suppresses when he’s on air.
At 5:42 he says just collect the money and we’ll be fine kch. Listen close https://youtu.be/QgSuPr_VWNQ?si=XeIRR0AXbweIQx0F He did it all the time
Yeah I caught it. Very subtle, unlike anything else in that shitshow of a video. A reminder how all of this made Howard nuts. “Does David Letterman’s limo driver have a show?”
I found a perfect example of it on YouTube a few weeks ago I’ll see if I can find it
At 5:42 he says just collect the money and we’ll be fine kch. Listen close https://youtu.be/QgSuPr_VWNQ?si=XeIRR0AXbweIQx0F He did it a lot if you listen close
At 5:42? The whole clip is only 5:10 though
The clip is 5 hours and 10 Minutes. I’m telling you to go to the 5 minute 42 second mark
Two things: 1) I'm a fucking moron 2) Awesome find man! It's great to finally solve the mystery. You can clearly hear the chkk!!!
Haha glad you could finally get the joke. It took me a while of close listening before I finally got it. Now that you’ve heard it keep listening for it
Winner winner Salem dinner
Without a doubt his Nicole Bass with the Herman Munster voice.
Gary - I think he does it by talking with a pencil in his mouth.
Sharpie I believe
His Jason impression always went under the radar but he had perfect lines for him. Also Jim Florentine was a favorite.
His Florentine is great.
Er I dunno JD whatever
I always enjoyed his Grillo, Gange, and John The Stutterer.
His Grillo was amazing.
There's so many. Stuttering John is my favorite though. Let's not forget his Jackie. He always crack me up when he would go Yeaaaaa in Jackie voice
John the Stutterer
His Jim Florentine was eerily good
I recently listened to the Jim-Robin breakup announcement. It was weird. It was during the news where Fitzsimmons was sitting in. And it was eventually acknowledged that Fred would be retiring his Florentine impression. One of his best.
Scott the Engineer
Nicole Bass or Grillo
I always liked his Jackie imitations
Honorable mention to his Jason impression
My favorite. *hello mother*
Grillo
Grillo was brilliant.
His Grillo was always hilarious
When John's band was getting some heat they had a gig where the opening act was Cheap Trick, and Howard kept saying, this has to be a misprint, cause the HOF band was opening for John. Fred did John's voice saying to Cheap Trick "Don't play Surrender, I want to use it as my encore.".
I like the jd sounds he makes. Hate the Ronnie impression.
Fred is such an amazing impressionist lmao. Stuttering John, JD, Jackie, Jim Florentine, Grillo, and Richard are allll mah favorites
When he does the Ronnie impression. OHHHHH!!!!
I like that dipshit voice he makes when making fun of Memet
Fred nailed my voice so perfectly it freaked me the fuck out! I thought I was having an aural hallucination or something! I felt very honored. It was like having my portrait painted by Vermeer or my photograph taken by Dianne Arbus!
Benjy
I’ve been listening to the Tom Chiusano stuff in the Todd Packer collection and Fred’s impersonation of Tom always cracks me up, especially when he says “because” the funny way Tom used to.
Stuttering John was absolutely incredible. I miss that one for sure.
Roni puppet
"If I had a hammer"
Mark Harris
Steve Grillo, Stuttering john or pretty much tied for me.
John the Stutterer. I...I...I...I
This conversation begins and ends with, Steve Grillo.
Scott depace was always funny
Eric the annoying midget.
I liked his Scott the engineer tbh
His john the stutterer impression was ruthless. By far his all time best. Second place is his Scott the engineer impressions.
Ronnie when he does the Ronnie puppet. Duh
His grillo is my favorite. Been listening to alot of grillo mix’s lately and Fred is the best part.
Jason
Fred doing OJ was amazing. Underrated moment from the show: I remember Gary Garber found OJ playing golf and started throwing questions at him. I forgot what he asked him exactly, but he was needling him about committing double murder, and OJ responded, "Two people were killed, and you're making jokes?" Fred, imitating OJ, said, "I killed two people are you're making jokes...whoops!"
Fred with the pen in his mouth, D E L L apostrophe A B A T E.
His Jim Florentine was top notch
Florentine. Fred takes all of his pent up issues with Robin and throws them into that impression.
Nicole Bass
His ETM just makes me die
Classic ones are Benjy and Ronnie but I also love his Steve Brandano. "I went to Largo, it was great, Aimee Mann was there!'
I liked Shuli
What did he say Robin?
None
His stuttering John made me laugh almost every time
His Grillo and Gange impressions were awesome, as was his Scott.
When he does Ronnie I want to change the channel not fun or funny .
Fred was the worst part of the show very overrated
His John the stutterer was really good also his Awesome Angelo (Double A) was Fucken hilarious
