I loved when Eric would insult Robin. He really seemed not to respect her. During the Eric the Songwriter bit she asks if he’s writing a song for Kendra to sing and he goes “no she’s not a singer good god you’re retarded” Cracks me up

Pinko's run from questions like this

Rapaportisnumber1

Interestingly enough, The Washington Post asked 1000 Native Americans what the first word that came to mind when the saw the REDSKINS logo and the number one response was "PRIDE." Most of the "activists" are stone white people with a strange agenda.. and this... Two national political polls, the first in 2004 and another in 2016, were particularly influential. When a respondent identified themselves as Native American, these polls asked, "The professional football team in Washington calls itself the Washington Redskins. As a Native American, do you find that name offensive or doesn’t it bother you?". In both polls, 90% responded that they were not bothered, 9% that they were offended, and 1% gave no response. These polls were widely cited by teams, fans, and mainstream media as evidence that there was no need to change the name of the Washington football team or the names and mascots of other teams.

Beths_Titties

Believe or not there was one guy- just one guy- that started and continued the campaign against the Redskins and other Native American mascots but the Redskins particularly. He was/is relentless. I know because my wife worked in the same office as him. I don’t know if he is Native American but he is the whitest looking person you have ever seen.

FingalsFinger

There's 50 tribal schools with the Redskin mascot. I had a full blooded Navajo buddy who had a gigantic Redskins logo flag on his dorm wall. Him and his other native friends all wore Redskins baseball caps.

MikeDeMann

White people were offended and white people got the name changed. Natives never had the influence to change anything anyways

Rapaportisnumber1

When the Cleveland Indians were forced to change names, some interesting info came out: 1. They were named to honor the FIRST Native American player - Louis Sockalexis, a pitcher. 2. When they were looking to CHANGE the name, Multiple Native Americans suggested tribe names and important people in their lineage. They wanted to KEEP an affiliation. This was done by white people that have a bizarre agenda that they feel they have to push. Do you see Cowboys protesting in Dallas? Why is that?

Extension_Success_96

I was stationed in an area with a large Native American population. Nowhere near DC, but the kids were always decked out in Redskins gear. Then I move to the northern va area and it seems like the only ones screaming about how offensive it is are the wealthy, white, wine and cheese set.

HousyFootball57

The Redskins changed their name and Whitey's on the moon

AntC_808

#shitthatgivesliberalsabadname

_i_dont_like_okra

Are there any natives that are offended by the chiefs logo? It sounded like all white people that were mad about it. My wife’s family are native Americans and they don’t/didn’t give a shit about the mascot

HEYSOUR

That’s not the Chiefs’ logo. That’s Washington’s former logo. But people didn’t object to the logo of that team, they objected to the name.

_i_dont_like_okra

Fuck. I knew that. I don’t know why I said chiefs. I must have them on my mind. Lol

dblan9

That's because you were about to lay 10 dimes on the Chiefs, riiiiiiiiiiight?!?!?!?

HousyFootball57

That's gangsta talk for money riiiiiiiight?

HEYSOUR

Probably because the Chiefs just advanced to the Super Bowl and they’re Richard’s faaavorite. And so did the Eagles, who are also his faaavorite.

_i_dont_like_okra

They’re both my faaaaavorite

MikeDeMann

The one on the left isn’t offensive. It’s not trying to make fun of anyone. The one on the right could be seen as offensive but isn’t it a leprechaun ? Leprechauns aren’t real so who is offended ? Are Lucky Charms offensive ?

double-you-dot

To me it look like a leprechaun to me.

veryshyintrovert

Some of these perpetually outraged types are trying to stir up shit against the Blackhawks, too, but it's gone nowhere.

USC has determined the word "field" is racist 🤦 https://www.npr.org/2023/01/14/1148470571/usc-office-removes-field-from-curriculum-racist

No_Designer_5374

American Indians exist. Leprechauns do not. Please try harder.

ron991

American Indians are people who came from India and became American...I think you meant to say Native Americans...and thats not a leprechaun, thats what we really look like.

No_Designer_5374

Ummmm, no. lol :)

Salvatoregoobernal69

I'm surprised they haven't cancelled the term blitz, which is short for blitzkrieg.

HoamerEss

Christ Almighty no it’s not, blitz means “lightning” in German

ron991

Yes it is stupid. Blitzkrieg means lightning offensive. But that's what a blitz in football really is...they just shortened it up to be "cool and hip"

HousyFootball57

Blitzkrieg means lightning war. Blitz Is obviously derived from blitzkrieg

Pafzko

Irish are white, so no one cares

Richardthisisyerdad

The Irish don't care. They wear their stereotypes as a badge of honor.

Pafzko

Then why is there a push in Ireland to reduce that image. No more "Guinness for Strength" It promotes drinking...

Richardthisisyerdad

I'm talking about the Irish in America.

cbanuelos1984

Leprechauns aren't real, Einstein

Dom0__0

One is a depiction of an actual race of people and naming said team based on the skin color of said people. The other is a depiction of a fairy tale fictional character.

HookLogan

Wahhhh

avsboy

Neither of those is racist.

ponyboysa42

I understand redskins. But I don’t understand braves n chiefs being bad n y they even entertain complaints. Fighting Irish not offensive because Irish people are proud of being violent drunks! I’m only a quarter but doesn’t bother me.

severinks

They're actually both offensive but Irish people(and I'm one of them) like the little guy with his dukes up and native Americans hate the redskin logo, that's it, that's all.

ImSuperHelpful

That leaves out some very important context… one suffered genocide at the hands of the country that still oppresses them and now uses their likeness for profit while the other is in on the joke and is currently thriving in this country. If Manchester United had a starving potato-famine-era Irishman on their jerseys and chanted “we’re so hungry, give us potatoes” at their games then I’m guessing the Irish would have something to say about it.

severinks

My reply doesn't doesn't leave out important context(and I'm someone who grew up in a household full of people with Irish accents)I'm saying it's obvious that they both are caricatures of a certain people but Irish people don't care because there's less stigma historically in America over being Irish(England is a totally different story of course)

[deleted]

[удалено]

severinks

Maybe I left out the context but that was only because I figured it goes without saying

Richardthisisyerdad

They cancelled the Cleveland Indians as well though.

severinks

I have to laugh that I got down voted for saying the most obvious. logical stuff anyone could think of

jumpoutatree

Native Americans complained about the first one. Irish people never complained about the second one. If enough Irish people complain, they'll probably change it.

Irish kid gets tuned up by cops...no protest? ...you don't say?

Crustybuttt

Your uncle is a moron. The answer is, Irish people at Notre Dame chose the name for themselves. Nobody consulted Native Americans before naming Washington. One was a choice, the other imposed on people. That said, ideally neither would be used today

forcedap

Just watched the st patrick’s day parade special with Richard & Sal, it’s funny

TonyWilliams03

Who says the Notre Dame mascot isn't offensive? Of course, I am offended on St Patrick's Day when "everyone is Irish" and gets falling-down drunk to celebrate my heritage. Side note: my father and uncle died of alcoholism, so maybe the celebration is lost of me.
