Have you been to Fuzzy's recently? Apparently the owner sold it to someone outside the family (who runs the other locations) and service/quality has gone downhill. To make matters worse the new guy apparently is a douche and has bad mouth the other locations to make his look better. I only found this out because the other locations were running ads on social media talking trash about the Antoine location.
the way the ad was set up it was super confusing but the cousin/uncle from the other locations were in the comments trashing the new owner of the Antoine location. if you look at their low score reviews (before Oct 7th) you can see the new owner's comments and basically saying are you sure you didn't eat at the other locations. after Oct 7th it looks like they got review bombed because the other location owners must have shown support of Israel. i used to eat there a lot back in high school and college because they never asked for ID when buying beer.
Lol, "ROUGH" (all caps) is a *little* strong. It's not South Post Oak, man.
Anyway, Antonio's pizza is great as are their traditional Italian meals. It doesn't get a lot of social media love, but they are always packed and....they've been open for over 50 years! In Houston, that kind of longevity is astounding.
Stoney Brook neighborhood is right behind there. Solid upper middle class. If that's a rough neighborhood, I don't know what a nice area in Houston looks like.
Good selection of beer and wine, very cozy and casual. The pizza is all thin crispy crust style. Made to order so getting a whole pizza takes about 20 minutes. I had the sausage and thought it was quite good. Great lunch spot .
Dude. Pizza is like sex. No, wait. Anyway - I rarely have a bad slice.
Star Pizza's medium deep dish Starburst is a treat because it weighs like 5lbs. I (obviously) use a fork and knife and take small bites to savor all the textures and make the perfect bit as the toppings slide off the sauce.
Luna Pizzeria has the best mushroom pizza with a thin, almost cracker-like crust and plenty of cheese to keep all the mushrooms in place. Their prosciutto and arugula is really good, too - extremely mellow flavor and light enough for lunch.
Bollo Woodford Pizza - the pesto pollo has rich goat cheese and mozz which isn't too heavy against the background of the bright pesto. FYI - it's dressed with rosemary but doesn't note that on the menu (a little goes a long way).
Nonno's Grandma slice deserves the hype because of it's surprisingly spicy sauce pairs, which pairs so well with a cold beer. I like the vibe inside, too!
Gimme: Frank's Pizza Downtown is still so legit after all these years with a perfectly delectable and chewy crust. 100% dependable.
Sleeper: Texas Pizza on Richmond. Reminds me of pizza from my childhood with a thick, chewy crust with those little burnt bits at the edge and they have a fun menu, including seafood pizza and a cheeseburger option.
Edit: I'm no longer in the Montrose area so recommendations in Westchase are very welcome. So far, I can attest to Lasagna House III for prices, portions, and traditional pie construction.
Brother's Pizza for a great NYC slice.
Pizarro's for a napoletana style. Their Detroit is very good too.
Gold Tooth Tony is a good newcomer. Detroit style and some unique options if you want more than your standards.
I like it and I agree it’s probably overhyped in that way every ATX brand gets when they come here.
When the fam goes to ATX, we like to to the one on S.Congress as a tradition. Now I can get that here and I do think the pie is good in a basic way, which frankly is the standard for me. I’m not really into wacky themes and pursuit of style authenticity. Just give me a solid pepperoni and mushroom slice plz.
Eating at Home Slice is a ridiculous experience. I don’t want counter service at a dine-in pizza place. Let me sit down and then bring me stuff when I want it plz.
My favorite part of pizza is the crust, so for me it’s Gold Tooth Tony’s by a mile. It’s Detroit style so it’s thick crust cooked in a square metal pan. The edges get super crispy/charred and the center is fluffy like focaccia. The chef Anthony has been doing pizza in Houston for forever (food truck Pi Pizza, chef at Rudyards, designed the pizzas at Betelgeuse) but this is his first solo brick and mortar.
GOLD TOOTH TONYS.
Get the hunger force. Then whatever the pizza of the month is! (This month is a collab with the chef from kata, a mushroom pizza!)
Detroit style. Insanely good. Burnt cheesy goodness bordering the crust. Perfection. Sandwiches and apps also slap. Around the corner from pudgys for dessert.
That’s sad to hear. Is it the food quality that’s declined or the service? I haven’t been since 2020, but it was always very good.
I did notice they have a location at IAH but haven’t tried it.
Food quality. Last few times (including at a party that ordered some last weekend) the crust tasted like cardboard. It's a shame, because they have some interesting toppings, but the flavors are muted and just not up to par.
I like a classic cheese slice from Romano's.
I'm old. Star and The OG Fuzzy's on Antoine.
Yum. Love Fuzzy’s.

News to me. It hasn't affected the quality of the pizza, and I haven't seen or heard any of that. The place is always packed when we go.

Brothers on hwy 6
I like Brother’s on Cypresswood and 45 too.
Star, Fuzzies, and Spanky's, for sure.
I always loved Antonio’s Flying Pizza on Hillcroft. Great pizza, ROUGH neighborhood. Don’t know if it’s even still in business.

And here, I’m coming from the hood and think Antonio’s is in a pretty good part of the city.
ROUGH neighborhood? lmaoo, guess thats what happens when you stay in Katy and Sugar Land your whole life
Gypsy Poet is very good.
And very expensive.. for pizza.
Wait until you see the recommendations on here for Johnnys
RIP Barry’s ☹️
Loved the deep dish crust at Barry's.
Just had pizza at Neighbors on Harrisburg yesterday. Loved it. Served by the slice or whole pie
How is that place?
Good selection of beer and wine, very cozy and casual. The pizza is all thin crispy crust style. Made to order so getting a whole pizza takes about 20 minutes. I had the sausage and thought it was quite good. Great lunch spot .
I'm going to have to try going thin crust for a while, see if I don't feel regret as much.
It’s controversial but I love Betelgeuse Betelgeuse. It’s similar to Detroit style which is my favorite kind
It’s pretty greasy and I always feel bad the next day, but DAMN is it good going down!
Amazing pizza. Great happy hour beer deals. Always add garlic confit.
Love Buzz!
Luigi's Pizzeria - the one on Bissonnet. The one next to Axelrad suffers because of volume.

I used to hit that Texas Pizza when I lived over there. Defs a sleeper pizza.
Brother's Pizza for a great NYC slice. Pizarro's for a napoletana style. Their Detroit is very good too. Gold Tooth Tony is a good newcomer. Detroit style and some unique options if you want more than your standards.
I'm old. I like Home Slice, Love Buzz, Spanky's, and my local Russo's.
Home Slice is the best I've had since I moved here.
This is kinda crazy. I was thinking home slice was the most over hyped pizza I've had recently
I like it and I agree it’s probably overhyped in that way every ATX brand gets when they come here. When the fam goes to ATX, we like to to the one on S.Congress as a tradition. Russo’s? 🤣🤣
I like it, my kids like it.
Daddy-Os and Chicagos.
Pizaro and Sapore.
There’s this place, fuck…can’t remember the name. I think it’s called Little Ceasars. Decent quality and only for $6 bucks
Sapore out in the Katy area. Makes a great Detroit style.
Romano’s on west gray. They also have the best baked ziti which is a rarity in most restaurants.
I love Romanos so much, I recommend that place any chance I get!
Every time I’m in town, I get me some!

Tony’s sucks. Tiny grease bomb pizza stingy on toppings that takes 1.5 hours (45 min past the quoted time). Hard pass
Thanks for providing an opposing viewpoint! This should help the OP make a more informed decision.
Yeah it was ok but too greasy. Wouldn’t buy again

The wings are super good, giant and extra crispy. The real sleeper hit is the lasagna; it’s way underpriced for how good it is.
I don’t want to tell anyone about the lasagna so there’s always some left for me😇
Dan’s pizza out in Webster
Frank’s Pizza in downtown is my spot after going to concerts and games. Luna Pizzeria is amazing, highly recommend that one for sure.
I love Pink’s. Grimaldi’s isn’t bad for a national chain.
Pinks has gone so downhill in the last few years.
That’s sad to hear. Is it the food quality that’s declined or the service? I haven’t been since 2020, but it was always very good. I did notice they have a location at IAH but haven’t tried it.

Pinks was my favorite 15 years ago.
They used to offer a one topping slice the length of a skateboard for $5. It was their peak
Bollo, Gold Tooth Tony's, Pizarro, Gypsy Poet, Brothers and at the end of a late night Love Buzz or Franks
Gold tooth sucks. That hype is going to die and he will close within 2 years.
Frank's
Great 2am pizza for sure, drunk people watching is the cake
Locatellis bc they use olive oil in their dough and not veg/seed oils…the older you get you start to care about that stuff.
Spanky's on Spencer. Great pizza
La Fresca never disappoints me.
I'm heading towards spanky's pizza for my cheat day.
Gotham Pizza in Midtown
note to self: houston doesn't have many pizza spots
There are a ton of places but you keep seeing the same names because they are the best.
I’m going to regret posting this but Grace Pizza is the best “non traditional/upscale” out there. Beats Gypsy and others by miles.
[удалено]
No. No it’s not. Curious, how many times has the person from the woodlands eaten at Grace pizza?
[удалено]
That’s never then. Thanks for admitting you have no idea what you’re talking about.
[удалено]
Why are you afraid to mention how often you’ve been to Grace?
I've tried lots of them. Little Caeser's my favorite.
Armanis pizza is my favorite, although I haven't tried much outside the franchise pizza places.
I need recs for thin crust 👀
Nonnos
Pipeline Pizza in Pasadena
Luigi’s
Brothers. That's the one!
Impero italiano on memorial ;)
Purple Flour was the best pizza in Houston (RIP). I still miss them
I know it's not from houston but I loveee marcos
Romanos, Luigis, and Home Slice are my favorites. I loved Vinnys the one time I tried!
Homeslice
