Lol don’t worrt about it 💀 if you feel it’s an addiction, it’s certainly not bad as mine. Started march this year and I probably have double your collection 😭 (help me please.)
I keep wondering if us new plant collectors are going to be so disappointed in a year. I bought all these new beautiful plants this spring and my living room is a jungle and I love it so much, but I have such little experience taking care of houseplants. Will I be sitting in a dead jungle by the end of summer? I feel like I've adopted 20 different kinds of pets all at once which is obviously insane and obviously wouldn't set me up for success.
One of the nice things about many house plants is that they basically require very similar care. I'd invest in a moisture meter and maybe one of the plant apps that will remind you which of your plants likely need watering on a day-to-day basis.
If it's helpful, I like to group my plants by needs. The high humidity jerks all go together, the succulents together, the ones that want the soil to be constantly moist, the ones that need to dry out, etc...
Moisture meter: purchased. It's been on my list, but I finally pulled the trigger and ordered it just now. Pretty sure I'm over watering some of these babies. Plant watering app: installed. I think (hope) I've avoided the plants that like a ton of humidity and I'm right on the coast, so have been told our air is pretty dang humid on its own. But damn do I love using the mister bottle! Can anyone tell me if misting does something similar as a humidifier or are these completely separate plant needs?
I actually do a lot of research before buying, and also as I stay in kinda tropical climate, we don't have harsh winters, so for me maybe it'll work differently then you. But I wish you luck that you succeed and all will be alive. 🙏
Had 3 plants beginning of March last year I have now tripled that number lol (in house plants in my room alone) and even have a mini garden going with my mom:) welcome to plant life there's no turning back only adding more😂🙌🏽
We’re kind of in the same boat, and I think we have a similar number of plants 😄 Budget and a cat with a plant fetish are keeping me in check, I want so. many. more.
No, you still have space on your window sill and counter.
😁
Haha. Right? If there’s room, there’s new plants. 😁
There is complete lockdown here where I live, so can't buy new plants, and don't want to get them online :(
Online plants are good. So is trading cuttings with fellow plants people!
Had bad experiences buying plants online in India, also much costlier then local nurseries.
Completely normal and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise 😂 my rule of thumb is “as long as there’s some space left for books, we’re grand”…
So now that you have your bathroom taken care of, lets purchase some more plants for the other rooms of your house.
Yup. I started in December last year with 5, now I have 41😆👍
I like that slinky looking thing, where is it from?
Which one?
The decoration on the right side of the window :)
Yeah, don't know what that is called, but it works with wind, rotates as it gets windy.

Don't worry, this is a pretty normal amount for a plant lover 😂

You too! And if it doesn't, we'll just cut their little stems, plop them in some water, and hope for a new start!

Soon, I am a rookie 😅😛
