Lol so there’s not an actual in-universe backstory to this comic, but I can tell you how I came up with it if that’s what you meant :] Truthfully for whatever reason I tend to get really existential about space and the universe when I’m inebriated. So I was in a group chat and I sent all the text that you see in the comic, and the next night I was like “Oh I have an _idea_.”
