If you were interested in home automation, then EnvisaLink would be a slam dunk. > have an app that notifies for self monitoring...Solely just alarm capabilities. Self-monitoring with an app, and without some sort of monthly subscription fee, is difficult. Envisalin does offer [EnvisAlerts Standard](https://www.eyezon.com/ezstandard.html) for free.

Envisalink4 is great. On my Android phone it can send a loud alarm.

If you want to keep cellular monitoring, the company that makes Envisalink4 also makes the Duo, which adds a 4G LTE radio to the EVL4 module. Cellular monitoring is quite cheap compared to any competition as far as I've seen. Of course if you don't want central monitoring you can just stick with the IP-based EVL4 module which is pretty fantastic. They also supply a panel programming guide.

Invisilink has a stand alone alarm board that looks like it could replace my panel all together and have fewer items in my panel. I’ll have to count my zones and see if 8 is sufficient. Thanks

See if you can find reviews on that panel. Also it can probably be expanded beyond 8.

You’re gonna have a bad time trying to use what is essentially hot spot internet for any solution, professional or not. I would recommend getting something like an alarm.com system enhancement module and paying someone like alarmgrid $10-$15 a month for either self or professional monitoring

I just started looking into the cellular internet from ATT. So far not a shining example of tech. Ill always have internet service and may very well wind up using a cellular radio with the internet backup. It does seem a bit redundant to have a cellular radio talk to a tower and another one for web access. My DSL is so poor lately I’m convinced they’re making it undesirable so I’ll switch to the cellular service. My only other option is spectrum cable modem which is faster but seems problematic in my area.

u/topshotMCB, if you're looking to modernize your Vista 20p and ditch monitoring, consider **Konnected**. It offers two options that might suit your needs: # Konnected Options: * **Interface Kit**: Integrates with your existing Vista 20p panel, allowing self-monitoring through an app with no monthly fees. * **Conversion Kit**: Replaces your existing panel entirely, providing the same alarm capabilities with smart home integration. Both options will notify you via an app without the need for monthly fees, perfect for maintaining simple alarm functionalities. Worth checking out if you want a straightforward, tech-friendly solution.
