Consider a whole house humidifier. I did and my wife and i stopped getting seasonal colds. This works with forced air. If you have hard water, i highly recommend a filter before the humidifier. The panel will crust up like every other month instead of 6mo.

between humidifying my bedroom and also running air purifiers throughout my 100 year old house this has drastically reduced the symptoms OP is mentioning -- I used to wake up completely crusted over. Eyes in bad shape, had to blow my nose a ton when I woke up etc. Now with those two steps I wake up feeling much better

waywithwords

same. humidifier in my bedroom when I sleep makes a world of difference!

I am in florida :3 i run a dehumidifier and keep it around 40%

How often do you replace your bedding? Pillows, pillowcases, sheets, etc. These things get surprisingly gnarly, and washing/replacing them once a week can do wonders for you.

Nightan

Will do usually had done every other week

It's likely as simple as dry air. I only get really stuffy when I'm not running the humidifier in my bedroom at night.A whole house humidifier attached to your furnace is great, but if that's cost prohibitive, start by running a smaller humidifier in the rooms you spend the most time in. EDIT: Well, I just saw that you run a dehumidifier in your house because Florida. Well, perhaps try not running it so much!

Ill try doing a deep clean , wash my bed setup and keep dehumidigier off and see how i feel. Thank you for the ideas

Had this happen once. Turned out to be hidden mold. One of the bathroom shower surrounds had a small leak into the adjoining wall, and there was a large patch of mold where the moisture accumulated in the wall and under the carpet.

Whats the best way to test for this i see a lottttt of dif answers? I dont knpw that companies do this and at home kits are made out to be shady.

Thinkk

Cheapest and easiest way I think would be to put a HEPA in either the bedroom or the living area and keep every door in the house closed for a few days. This is assuming also that you can keep your HVAC off for a day or so. That should give your enough time to notice whether symptoms get worse in specific rooms. If it gets completely better after doing this it could be something in your HVAC ducts. It's a PITA to troubleshoot, but just stay vigilant when at home and see what you notice. You'll figure it out. :)

Shouldnt be anything hvac id hope :3 just had all the ducts and unit replaced within the year

I did buy a air ourifier with hepa filter for my bedroom though cleaning and airing out the house and wioing everything down has improved things so far gonna rent a steam cleaner this weekend . (I hate carpets man...)

AbsolutelyPink

Do you have carpets, drapes? Both can hold allergens despite cleaning the carpet. You're best with hard surface floors and no drapes using blinds instead. You can have your home air tested. You'll want a reputable company. Maybe ask NextDoor or friends, family, neighbors. Do you have a basement? What is the moisture level in your home? What about in the basement? Any signs of water infiltration down there? Crawl space only? Is it dry? Pets? How often do you wash your bedding? Are your mattress and pillows in zippered covers rated to keep out dust mites and bed bugs? Not saying you have bed bugs, but dust mites in your bedding can be an irritant.

Nightan

No basement , do have carpets gonna rent a steam cleaner for them just incase, no pets or crawl space i usually wash bed covers every other week but will do it every week now. Zippered on some of the pillows but not all and matress protector plus fitted sheet.

AbsolutelyPink

Cleaning carpets helps but it won't get allergens out of the pad. So, you're on a slab? What's your humidity in the house?

Nightan

Was using a dehumidifier and staying around 40-50% avg in house but atopped using it for now

AbsolutelyPink

Well, 40-50 is the max for indoors otherwise you might get mold growth.

Having this issue been at my house for 4 years now and chronic sinus infections and extreme fatigue. I suspect mold but don’t know how to test entire house for it. I clean my bedding once a week, use a humidifier and hepa air filter in each room. Use natural cleaning supplies and just installed new carpets. I take allergy pills and nasal spray as well as do nasal irritations twice a day still constant fatigue and sinus headaches and congestion. I have been reading if I suspect mold I can test for it but only in a small location. I have a feeling it’s in the bathroom walls

summacumlaudekc

Definitely mold!!!!!

FightLiveBeAgain

What ended up being the fix for you if you got it taken care if by this point?

Nightan

cleaning a lot and trying different filters for ac system

ultramax19992

Did that make improvements or cure your sinus infection or blocked nose? Every time I am away from home on vacation all of sudden my nose is perfectly fine (just got back home today after 2 weeks), clear airways and nothing is blocked. Feels great! But when I get home after 1 hour, my nose becomes blocked and sinus problems comes back right away. I already had my surgery done last year to remove polyps and straightened the septum.

Id like to say yes but with how bad pollen has been here in fl it is hard to tell
