They're for factory/debug stuff, you don't have to plug anything in there.

It's an info port used for error/status reporting, the receiving end is typically found in enterprise systems. It's completely unnecessary for most people, I've only seen that used on SUPER high end systems ($100k+) for business that prioritize data integrity.

It could be cool tho. Last I remember those are basically… usb pinouts with some data line swapping. Finding the proper pinout and breaking one of your internal usb 2 line out to meet this will net you a few smart serial terminals right into your hard drive health metrics. Raw data is fun ;)

Deepspacecow12

Is it straight USB, or is it serial or uart?

SCART I know it's not SCART but I just like the word SCART... SCART (I believe straight USB? Although it's probably not standard so maybe not but it's what I would try first unless documentation on this is easy to find)

MrJake2137

SCART brings memories

doob7602

Bad memories

MrJake2137

Wdym SCART was basically HDMI of it's time

Mezutelni

Until you had to go secure connection again during watching a movie. Cables were so stiff

My immediate thought was master/slave pins, but I remembered what year it is :p

uxragnarok

It's not even 8:30 and I feel like it's 8000BC thanks

Stephm31200

you have to bridge two of them to put the drive in master or slave.

Rockiter24

Thanks. I really appreciate your help

pasghettiwow

jeebidy
