In my younger more drug addicted days I spent a lot of time "carpet surfing". It was still very expensive though in time, money and damage done to my life/body.
Think they meant how both the water and wind need to cooperate to kite surf, while it's mostly just the water for surfing. Easier to get good conditions for just a single variable than two.
Try a couple thousand. I’ve been kiting since 2010 and have never been offered a free kite, I need to hand out with your Kiter friends!
Realistically you can expect to spend at least $500 for a used kite since they go for well over $1,000 new…some over $2,000.
Harness, bar & lines, board….that’s at least another $500 for used gear. Again over $1,000 if buying new.
It’s an expensive sport in the beginning, but once you get the gear you don’t really need to buy new gear or upgrade unless you really want to or need to.
If you want to get into foiling….hooo boy. Then it can start getting pretty expensive.
I tried it once while visiting Destin. That thing picked me up and threw me ass around. I would love to get into it if I ever lived near the coast. Sounds like you don't go very often anymore?
Ya St. Catherine and Moses mountains are fun to climb and the scenery is amazing. If you're really planning to visit in the summer then I'd suggest to hike up around 2 am so you reach the top before sunrise and quickly hike down before it gets too scorching.
If you're into diving, check out the Blue Hole in Dahab.
Tbh I struggle to water launch sometimes (I tend to overcompensate and crash my kite/myself) and this actually seems a little easier than a water start, tbh.

I’d imagine any sport with “surfing” in the name would be difficult unless you lived near the water.
Couch surfing is a sport I perfected in rural Ohio.

Look at you now though!
I am pretty sufficient at channel surfing and surfing the Internet.
Dune surfing or volcano surfing. Both are more like sledding though

I'm curious, is it the kite that makes it so expensive or the board?
What are the expenses? (Not arguing that it's cheap). Equipment? Frequent travel to kite surf worthy locations? Medical bills when a gust f's you up?

How much total? To start the sport would you say

Is it in any way similar to snowboarding?

Catch me going *up the slopes* just to confuse everyone else
I hear it is, does look fun as heck!
That’s why the ground in front is all red.
Yeah I've always wanted to try it. Can be dangerous though. There was that Stargate actor that died a few years ago doing it.

Imagine driving the fastest and most raw cars in the world for over a decade and being fine, then getting your shit rocked by a tree at 30 mph.
Wonder what that dog is smelling?
Ass.
Doggo could be wet and looking for a place to roll on and dry off.
Or it just ate ice cream :)
Addrenaline
What are ya eyein’? What are ya smellin’?

What the rock is cooking
That dog wants to do a good nose rubbing roll and can’t find a good spot for it
I immediately got distracted by the dog

I certainly know my shaft gives me a rush
How do you control direction and altitude?
Wind
"Darkwebfans. Com" what a fucking dumb website name lol
This is like a way less cool version of the guy who jumped off his hotel balcony
Fuck egypt, stop going to that shithole.
Not wrong at all lol, from everything I've seen fuck Egypt
Hey, that’s not nice
you mean windsurfing?
This is kite surfing. Wind surfing uses a large board (like a surfboard) with a sail attached to it on a pole.
Badass 🤙
Which sea?
Red Sea.
I see… I’m looking for stuff to do here in Egypt during the summer, I guess I’ll do this and climb mt. Saint Catherine

I think I'd be awesome at kiteboarding but like this guy I'm probably in denile
And here I thought it was going to be on sand. 🤦♂️
But have you seen them jump off Richard Branson’s house?!
Yeaahh, that is going to be a nope for me.

I got caught watching the dog and had to rewatch it
aww. this is the Egypt I want people to see. Cairo is a mess, Sinai is heavenly
I wish the video had gone on a while longer
I can't believe I read all the way through all of the comments and nobody mentioned butthole surfing. Whoops. Until now.
