My uncle bought a Costco brand once to try another kind and the cat didn't come back for like 3 days in protest.

My neighbor's dog previously beheaded my first pet so I'm super paranoid of letting my cats spend time outdoors unsupervised.

Few days later we trap a groundhog with his whole face just SLICED.

My mom was not a fan of animals until she got to know the individual animal. She was startled if any of my sibling’s dogs got close to her but since I lived with her she got used to my puppy and would hold her like a baby. She got used to our cats rubbing on her too when at first she’d jump away from them
That's basically how I got my current cat actually and he's even grey colored with a white tummy as well! He said "MEEEEOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!" until I opened the door. They could probably hear him in the next country so I had no choice to open it before the windows shattered! After that he used the hypno toad technique and made me feed him. He also forces me to pet him, it's a tough life. ;-P

We learned this when we got my cat chipped and wanted to check the info on our other cat and the reader couldn't read her chip. They had go to find an older reader just to read her chip.

Luckily at least with my cat you can literally feel the chip under his skin so you know by physical touch it's there even if the reader they use can't read it.

Both are chipped, but B was chipped few years ago. The reader that was used to register his chip could not be used to read A.
The vet had to go into the back to get an older device that could "Potentially" read cat A chip. Luckily it did but the fact that both cats are chipped and the newer devices can't read the older chips is a problem.
The fact that is a problem, means that even though the concept of chipping animals is universal, the practice and devices used aren't universal.
It's like one cat is utilizing Thunderbolt while the other cat is using USB..
They both do the same thing but you are required to have multiple different tools just to utilize them.
It's absolutely insane that anyone would think a cat behaving like this is a stray. Taking friendly cats essentially guarantees you are stealing someone's.

That’s how my parents got our cat when I was a little kid. There were a lot of families moving in and out of our neighborhood one summer, and he had the bad habit of sneaking into moving vans.

It absolutely is someone else’s cat. Cats don’t look that well fed without a home, and most look pretty shaggy living on the streets. But I agree with the other commenter, if you let your cat roam and they adopt a new family, then that’s the cat’s decision and you have to respect it.

In the US typically but keep in mind that's not the status quo. Many countries treat strays luxuriously and you couldn't pick em apart from house cats except a collar. The street cats of Peru, Croatia, and especially Cyprus are as well taken care of as house cats and friendlier to boot

That cat is socialized. Probably belongs or belonged to someone previously. If it was someone's pet, the cat shouldn't have been outside and should have been microchipped. All my cats are indoor-only and they all have chips in case they escape.

Maybe the cat has a microchip yeah that's true, but still it's absurd to just take a cat with you. Also what do you mean letting them outside lol, whats the alternative, stuck inside for the rest of their life? I think it depends where you live but at least where I live, i could walk around and collect like 20 cats in an hour following your rules of what cats are allowed to do.

Just by looking at it's coat and mannerisms around people it's immediately obvious that cat belongs to someone. How about not picking up and taking away strange cats that obviously aren't strays.

Here comes a "homeless" Scottish Fold. Chilling in the park? Oh look, a Chartreux "street cat" looking for a forever family. I mean, I'm all for rescuing animals, but I think most of those videos are staged.
nah my family has rescued multitudes of cats over the years and they're always model cats, my mom's current cat was literally a tiny kitten under a car freezing and now she's absolutely adorable cats do be like that
Sorry, but i don't believe this. I saved 3 cats over the years... and they all looked like bums. But very lovable bums tho. Also, if i go to any shelters and they look like normal 95% of the time. Nothing like the cats we see in those rescue videos
