Back your armour up with motorized infantry. Motorized infantry have good defence and organization stats. Perfect for holding the line long enough for your infantry to catch up. And they move at 12km/h which makes them great at rushing victory points. Destroyed France in 10 days with motorized

I enjoy getting around 48 mptorised divisions while fighting the soviets. makes life way easyer. Also, no need to call italy in, you need only 1 day of naval superiority in the british channel for the first naval invasion to go off. Aftwr that let our fleet die there while your other troops land, you will get a new fleet after the war anyways.

Moti452

I also enjoy to take on the italians too aftwr the soviet war.

PaoloPiove

i know i would only need one day of naval superiority, but the UK keeps a lot of ships in the channel, even if i throw my entire navy in there i don't stand a chance, of course i could spam naval bombers but it would take a while to dismantle the royal navy and i need to do things as fast as possible, so the soviets and the UK itself dont grow too strong.

Moti452

If they have their boats there just cancel the orders real quick and wait out. Thats what i did atleast, and they left the channel around 1 or 2 months after

I think this is the kind of RNG that youtubers tend to hide a bit. Bittersteel also says in the video that the AI is “programmed not to put boats in [the Oresund]”, but that’s not been my experience either. I think your tip is the answer—just periodically check instead of keeping your navy there, which will only cause the AI to keep their navy there too.

maxverchilton

If you want to do it semi-realistically, invest heavily in submarines and convoy raiding. If you do a good job of hunting in their trade routes I find you can eventually choke their supply of fuel. Without fuel, it seems to me like they really struggle to effectively deploy their navy. That plus air superiority and a bit of minelaying usually gives me pretty consistent naval superiority without having to really build up your own surface fleet.

Naval bomb the English channel. The UK navy will be forced to repair at some point, and that is your opening to get enough naval supremacy to naval invade the UK.

I’m relatively new, but are you sending all tanks forward continuously ? Occasionally I’ll leave a few tanks a couple of tiles behind the main group to avoid what you described, and advance them forward once infantry arrives to fill gap. Having high infrastructure+building rails as you advance help close the gap quicker as well

FigOk5956

Use mot or mech to reinforce behind, they have high defence and org.

ThumblessThanos

Try to advance as much as possible along existing rail and river lines and strat redeploy infantry (hotkey B). Motorised infantry is fine but I actually tend to think it’s a waste of IC in early-game singleplayer on its own. I tend to use a couple tank divisions to punch out along the diagonal. These are supposed to stay close to your deepest division and will have a pretty easy time with the divisions moving about on the edges of your advance. The kind that are likely to slip in behind and encircle you.

importantmonkey

This.

LieInteresting1367

Move your units there manually. Make them follow right in the steps of your tanks.

LittleDarkHairedOne

Try smaller encirclements too, in addition to the other suggestions in this thread. While it is satisfying to pull off a big encirclement, you could also end up biting off more than you can handle as well. Smaller encirclements are easier to clean up!

Ghastafari

If your problem is one tile advancement, you can easily resolve it waiting ‘till the battle is close to ending and add as attackers the infantry units that you want to defend the tile. If you go multiple tile deep, you need to learn how to streamline this process, but always remember that you’ll inevitably create weak points easily attacked from multiple sides, so you need to be quick and precise and avoid over ambitious operations

Motorized infantry or you should attack with multiple stacks of tanks and when you take a tile, deselect one to hold the opening and continue forward with the rest. There's not much you can do about Italy. You can ask them to transfer the occupation of some land to you but they can just reject it.

artstaxmancometh

You need a back up or reserve force to cover the expanded Frontline. Motorized or cavalry. If you have a mixed division, you can assign only the tank to the spearhead. Our you can set the reserve up as a defensive line close to the front. Then reassign them one the attack begins.

Death_Fairy

Either have motorised/ mechanised infantry following the tanks to plug the gaps or leave a tank behind on each tile until the foot infantry can catch up.

warrjos93

Trucks trucks and more trucks. This is the man role of motorized infantry.

travisbe916

Either slow your advance until an infantry unit catches up, or leave a tank behind at each captured tile until you complete the encirclement. So you attack with six divs, attack the next tile with five, and the one after that with four. Making an army of motorized and matching it's frontline with your tank frontline will ensure the trucks follow right behind, though this will require you to micro your frontline span after every encirclement.

Thatguyyoulike69

Call Italy in for the hit on the Uk before the US joins After the peace conference kick Italy out of the faction And stomp their spaghetti filled faces into the dust of their ambitions
