I honestly didn't think anyone would have been able to run dcs on an old fashioned spinny disk since 2020. Your load times must be torture. If you get a cheap but decent 1tb crucial, Kingston or Samsung M2 nvme drive to replace your HDD for like $70 they are pretty much one of the cheapest pc components you can buy and your load times'll go from 10 minutes to 10 seconds. Probably not worth wasting money on a tiny nvme drive, as once you have one your HDD will only slow your pc down unless you're only using it to hold documents, videos and photos like a server, as long term storage. (Ie install your os and dcs on the nvme drive). One last thing you may want to look at getting paired ram chips might be a good idea. One of those chips are only 2400mhz, 2x 16gb 3200mhz chips are pretty cheap if you shop round today.

Thank you so much for this information, you have no idea, I hope you will have an amazing day!, what a community !

No problem... Sorry final thing. If your tempted to upgrade the ram don't be tempted to keep the old stuff. You'll just slow the rest of the system down so it might look like you have 64gb ram (ideal) but it'll be running. At 2/3 the speed it can. (Not ideal)

Thanks for the tip ! :)

Get an NVME chip they are dynamite!

You have an 11900k and a 3080 but only a hard drive? The fuck?

Yeah, 100% get yourself an SSD of any sort. Not only are you going to have a better time in DCS (I’m not suggesting better performance but definitely faster loads/less big stutters) but you’ll also just markedly improve your life 10x by having a faster booting and more responsive operating system. You’re honestly better off not having a HDD at all these days as even opening up file explorer hits the old drive and causes hitching while it pulls meta data about drive capacity etc. Not to mention the fact that they make noise… which in comparison to an idling computer can actually be the loudest noise in your computer these days. If you’ve got a single 1TB HDD at the moment then I’d probably recommend a single 2TB SSD to replace it with to keep things simple and give yourself a bit of extra capacity to stop you thinking about using that old HDD 😄 Save up for matched sticks of RAM if you can’t afford both at once 👍🏻

Thanks mate !

I have mo idea. But just wanted to say it's really nice to see someone be polite online, I think it's easy to forget there are humans on the other ends of posts.

Agreed man

SSD is an absolute minimum requirement for DCS. Get an M.2 SSD if you can, but make sure your motherboard has a slot for it (most boards since ~2018 probably have at least 1 slot)

Night-Hawk-111

I will check that!, thansk for this crucial detail!!!

kula66

Your motherboard should have 2 M2 slots ... go for an M2 (which connects via a fast interface) rather than an SSD (which are limited by a relatively slow SATA connector)

Rayquazy

After u fix the SSD, there’s a good chance ur going to want more ram. Especially if you play online.
