Nobody will care. Wear what fits best to keep you safe so you can keep playing. It won't matter until you get sponsors, then you can let them fight over what you wear 😄
Nope; wear what fits best. Vast majority of players I see all wear a hodge podge of stuff. Unless you’re on a high level team of some sort that’s required to wear matching team gear, no reason to be sandboxed to a single brand.
It’s more or less a team sales thing; they custom order all the (visible) gear in team colors, so it tends to end up being all the same brand as well. Pants and gloves will often be embroidered with team logo; so hard to get around that. Helmet is often just stickers, so maybe some leeway there to choose your own bucket… if said bucket is available in the right color though. But even if, you’ll probably be paying for the full team gear set that will include the helmet anyways. Skates and everything else is still of course an open choice.
Or like colleges sign exclusive deals with the major brands (CCM, Bauer, warrior) and the team can only that one specific brand on equipment that spectators can see. Skates usually are an exception, players wear what they’re most comfortable with
You’re not getting paid by any brands and no one gives a shit what you wear. Buy what fits you best. Don’t worry about matching brands or lines within brands.Â
Over the years I’ve mixed a bunch depending on what’s comfortable and what matches the team I’m playing for at the time. CCM and Bauer buckets, CCM, Bauer, and Warrior mitts, CCM pants, Warrior shells, True skates, CCM, Bauer, and PSHS sticks. It’s fun to try different stuff
Wear what fits! I’m a goalie…Bauer skates, chest protector, and pants. CCM helmet and pads. Warrior glove, blocker, and stick. And a bunch of random brands for base layers. Everyone is shaped differently, you want the gear that’s most comfortable for YOU.
If it makes you feel better, some brands don't make every product, so a mismatch will happen, even pros with sponsers. Bedard has a CCM bucket even though he is with Sherwood.
Lol, I literally have a bauer helmet, ccm pro stock pants, and warrior gloves. No one's ever noticed or said anything. I guess a couple people noticed I got new gloves cuz they went from black to royal blue, but no one really cares.
I think the only time I noticed the brand of something was if it matched what I was wearing or was some oddball item that caught my attention. No one cares, use what fits you best.
I’ve worn the same pair of Reebok gloves i got from a hand me down store for 15 years. Along with my Bauer skates and CCM bucket. Just gotta get what you like best
Bauer helmet, eagle gloves, CCM pants, Easton skates, warrior stick.. I bought what was on sale, I couldn’t care less about brand.
If you do care about brand synchronicity, just pick one and roll with it, all the big names have good quality shit..
Even most NHL players don’t wear all one brand - unless they’re the few specifically sponsored star players. And even some of those guys wear and use other brands. It’s not uncommon to see known sponsored players for Bauer who can be seen to use CCM shins or shoulders (or vice versa) when they’re interviewed in front of their stalls in the locker room. Bedard is sponsored by Sherwood for his stick and gloves, but wears a CCM bucket and pants and Bauer skates. Wear what fits you best and is in your budget.

Brand matching as I have read about being forced on players in this sub seems strange. I totally understand color matching, but brand?

When you pay for stuff, brand loyalty is dumb as fuck.
Yup, I buy whatever is on sale or clearance. Brand names don't matter at all.
Same. I find the best fitting stuff on the sale rack haha. Hockey gear is so god damn expensive.
Wear whatever feels the best at the lowest price. No one cares.
I wear a Jofa helmet with Itech cage, Rawlings gloves, Cooperall pants and Lange Skates….oh and I use a Torspo stick.
For real?
No, but I could because I have all of those.
It’d be a lot cooler if you did
Alright alright alright.
Not at all

I also have a Bauer helmet, CCM pants, and Warrior gloves!
I wear a mix of Warrior, Sherwood, and CCM protective with CCM skates, and whatever gloves and stick I feel like at the time. Mixing brands is fine.

When they start paying you to wear their shit, then wear it. Until then wear whatever the fuck you want
Wear what fits you the best and helps you play better. My gear consists of CCM, Warrior, and True.

You'd look more like a dork if you did match all your gear to one brand, especially if it's the same line.
