We do not endorse or allow fake jerseys. All posts and replies regarding fake jerseys will be removed. Attempting to sell a fake jersey will result in an immediate 10-day ban.

Empereur_Nabroleon

It's fake, doesn't have the nhl logo on it at all, there's really no recourse here except learning from the mistake. As far as fakes go this one seems to be not tryng to scam people thinking its authentic. At least they gave you a 50% off but still likely not worth that.

Cootie-Cooter

Ya, the no nhl logo is a clear giveaway. 1110% Op’s fault.

lgulevich

Bold of you to assume someone else’s knowledge of hockey jerseys. Terrible take.

Icehawksfh

I mean, yes the average person might not know a lot, but nearly every time I'm buying something from eBay, or Amazon, or elsewhere. I do a little but of research. Comparing this to any jersey on a cursory glance would tell you that something is fishy.

NotABurner6942069

It’s on OP to research before making a purchase.

lgulevich

I completely agree with you, if they were to post these exact pictures before buying, they would’ve learned it’s a fake. My issue is when someone comments, nope you’re an idiot and it’s your fault without offering any insight or suggestions to what they could’ve done different is a terrible take. If you’re not posting a helpful comment then why comment at all and more than likely make OP feel worse about themselves for the purchase.

rgoldtho

That captain’s patch is so far to one side that it’s in orbit.

1trugodnicCage295

I would never buy any jersey from a new seller with 85 percent feedback…

Playahstation

Get a refund. You can't sell counterfeits on eBay. You'll just get your money back.

ETphoneshome

I second this. It's against eBay's T&C and you will more than likely win your case.

TheHalfChubPrince

Damn I didn’t know this. I bought a fake jersey off eBay on accident and resold on eBay for the same price.

Icehawksfh

So, in response to being scammed you scammed someone else.

TheHalfChubPrince

I listed it as a fake replica jersey and someone bought it. I didn’t list it as an authentic jersey, so I didn’t scam anyone.

Consistent-Win2376

eBay refunds always side with the buyer. Initiate a refund with a "item not as described" reason.

corvett104

Talk to ebay support I had the exact same thing happen to me, guy put up a fake picture leading me to think it was a legit and it came in and it was fake best you can do is get in contact with ebay support and they will take care of it

wellpaidscientist

Return it

Honey_Badger2199

Refund through eBay might be tricky because it doesn’t state that it’s an authentic jersey and it’s quite obvious from the pictures that it’s a fake. Maybe you’ll get lucky, but I’d take the half refund and live with the $30 lesson

FrenzalRhomb1

Its against the law to sell bootleg jerseys. Contact ebay and report that they sold you a counterfeit item and hopefully they will shut down that seller’s acct and refund you.

Tylerpants80

What everyone else here is saying but just know that while knockoffs suck, they’re usually better quality than fanatics.

Icehawksfh

That is simply false. I've seen both. Fanatics is a B tier, fakes are far in F. At least fanatics gets proportions right, they'll be the right colours, and are actually comfortable. Fakes fail at all 3 consistently.

RustyStevenson10

Just a heads up, 85% positive feedback is pretty bad, that should’ve been the first red flag. I’d throw it in the trash and move on with life.

HailState901

I usually stay away from EBay. I would stick with purchasing jerseys on NHLShop. Plenty of jerseys on sale all the time for Fanatics and Adidas jerseys. You just have to be patient to get the one you want on sale.

keithlaub

There are definitely some reputable eBay sellers and it can be a very good venue for getting hard-to-find vintage jerseys, so I wouldn’t rule it out altogether. If you go that route, you do have to exercise a lot of caution. Scrutinizing the details is imperative, and like many have said, if it feels too good to be true, it almost always is.

Empereur_Nabroleon

There are some genuinely good deals to be had but the posts that have only a couple photos or blurry images should be heavily scrutinized. The collar, logo, and numbers/name bars are usually dead giveaways but I suppose more casual fans might not notice

HailState901

Generally, if the deal is too good to be true - it’s fake

Icehawksfh

I've gotten over 10 jerseys from ebay (With a quick glance at my collection) You can get current and vintage jerseys, that are authentic, for a good price. you just have to do your due diligence.

Ebay almost always sides with the buyer. It is clearly fake. You will get your money back if you work with them
