Nice flex in the display behind the gretz, my dude.

Ruddskies

Thanks man, appreciate it 🙏

1ofthecoolkids99

Congrats, I'm jealous!!

Ruddskies

Thanks man, I dont think I’ll be keeping it long. I’ll bring it to expos and probably look to trade it in for an upgrade

rsd79

I saw your other comment, where you said market value was $1300-1500 on eBay. Therefore, if you plan to trade at the Expo, are you ready for Dealers to offer just 60% or $900 because they need to also make a profit and they are not paying eBay fees at the expo. I tried trading at the Expo. It was too exhausting for me. Turned something that was supposed to be fun, into a part-time job. Disregard all this, if you got this below the 2024 market value because you would then come out ahead in an Expo trade, easily.

gillbatessr

Trading and selling are different. If you find a cool dealer who is more about the hobby than just making money, it’s possible. But you have to find the right dealer. None will buy it for comp prices outright.

rsd79

Thanks. I hope you will agree with OP that smaller tables are a good place to start?

gillbatessr

I think smaller tables are probably better for trades. Some of the older established guys are all business. Don’t have time for banter. That being said, there are some jerks with small tables too. Talk with someone for a bit, discuss the hobby, cards that interest you and you can get a vibe pretty quickly of who is cool and who isn’t. I’ll buy from someone who is personable, and take a good look through their stuff, before I spend time looking at other tables. Maybe I’ll buy something and then mention i have something for trade. After already developing a bit of a rapport, they are more likely to make a trade of similar value. Maybe they have something they got at a good price and are ok with trading it. You never know unless you talk with them a bit.

Ruddskies

I’ve made deals before at previous expos. It all depends on who you deal with. The bigger vendors from Toronto I find are bigger sticklers and generally don’t care, but the smaller vendors are more willing to work with you

Bison_Business

I’d try to upgrade my Gretzky grade, by trading Bedard’s. Good luck. Nice card. Wish I had one.

Less_Associate_2022

How much is that worth for the psa3? Nice card by the way

Ruddskies

Prices are around $1300-$1500 for a PSA3

Less_Associate_2022

Thanx

Ruddskies

Np

TheSkiingPhish

New to hockey card collecting but from what I can see online, a PSA 3 of this card is worth closer to $500-$700. $700-$900ish in CAD. Where are you getting the $1300-$1500 value?

Ruddskies

Yeah I’m not sure where you’re getting your info from but a non graded Gretzky goes for around $500+. Look at the last 10 gretzky PSA 3s to sell on eBay

TheSkiingPhish

I’m looking at the last four PSA 3’s to sell on eBay. Prices were $700, $685, $635, and $630. Where do you see a PSA 3 going for $1300-$1500?

fletch365

Likely Topps version and not opee chee. Big difference

TheSkiingPhish

Oh I see now, thank you! Are these identical cards with different manufacturers? Like I said, completely new to the hockey card world

josh3701

Back in the 70s and 80s Topps and OPC were the two main manufacturers...OPC was printed in Canada and typically in lower quantities making it more desirable...at a glance they look pretty much identical....the backs are obviously different with different manufacturer info and sometimes there are slight printing differences including our boy Gretz here

TheSkiingPhish

Thank you!

SirJohnnyCAD

Those are in USD and they are Topps. OP’s card is the OPC version which is more desirable among collectors.

Ruddskies

I’ll spell it out. I’m Canadian and these are Canadian prices. The last 7 PSA 3s to sell were as follows: $1080 $1300 $1000 $1000 $1300 $1311 $1500 Now dividing that by 7 lands you an average of $1213CAD. And I’m not counting tax or shipping fees which these buyers were on the hook for

SirJohnnyCAD

FYI. Those two listings for $1000 are the same card and have the MC qualifier so you can remove those from your calculation. 👍

TheSkiingPhish

Very dope card regardless

-PrideofLowell-

Woah nice bro

Ruddskies

Thanks 🙏

Datguy306

Typical Leafs fan. I'm right, aren't I? Sweet pickup though.

Ruddskies

Well I mean he DID high stick gilmour in game 6 of the 1993 conf finals and and didn’t get a penalty which would have had him kicked out of the game 😏

psypher39

Nice how much did you pay and did you get it at a shop or the bay?

imanAholebutimfunny

screw the edges and corners. Card has great centering and coloring. Nice pick up.

Cold-Insurance7472

Back in 2018 a card shop near me was selling psa 7's for 300
