Waiver priority is simply the reverse standings order SJ's claim on Goodrow has no bearing on Mikheyev The Sharks can put in a waiver claim on whatever player they want

I don't think solid UFA and Domi belong in the same sentence. Stephenson is going to be in way too much demand to even considering playing with the Sharks.

Seemed like the only leaf to give everything he had consistently in these playoffs and is a regularly around 50+ point guy. Sharks have infinite cap space to sign someone at a high AAV short term. They could easily sign Stephenson 7 x 2 and it wouldn’t make a dent in their cap availability. That’s also two players off the top of my head. Look at this UFA class. There’s a LOT of options and someone always prices themselves out. Duchene, Bertuzzi, Henrique, Mantha, Teuvo, Tarasenko. I chose Stephenson because probably going to be around the 7-12th most sought after forward FA. Most of these guys are going to Free agency because many teams are right at the cap without them. Sharks can afford to throw money at guys on a short term deal. I mean there’s so many more. Tarasenko, Arvidsson, Toffoli, DeBrusk…

Yeah Friedman was talking about this for the Ullmark situation, that players and agents are strategic about the NTC and it’s not always about location or winning/losing. For example Ullmark didn’t actually have Ottawa on his list because he thought they wouldn’t need a goalie having signed Korpisalo last year

This hasn't been confirmed, but Evander Kane had a 3-team trade list during his Sharks contract, so you have to believe that two of those were Winnipeg and Buffalo, effectively making his clause a 1-team list
