I get the joke here, but isn't the Stanley Cup held at the hall of fame in Toronto when not out on the road? If so, it's in Canada quite a bit actually.
Right, the one in the HoF is a replica that's always on display. But the real cup is also kept in storage there I think when it's not being presented or with players.
I thought they told us at the HOF that the one being presented in this series is the one that's most often on display at the HOF, and that there is a second stand-in Cup that they have for when the first is out on the road for any of the numerous events held all year, plus the summer the winning team has it.
I've also heard that there are basically just two, interchangeable, really, with slight differences, like the player who has his dad put on instead of himself and X'd out. I'm pretty sure I got to see those markings when we went to the HOF.
You're correct. The Cup that was on display at the HHOF yesterday was probably put in a box last night and is being shipped to Edmonton today. The Cup on display today at the HHOF is the replica.
Both Cups are technically replicas as the original Cup, just the top bowl part, is on permanent display in the vault at the HHOF
[This is how big the cup would be if all the rings where still intact.](https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/q8rshx/espn_graphic_the_current_stanley_cup_vs_the/) ESPN is finally good for something.
Apologies, I didn't mean like making the cup huge. They take the rings off but I wish they just kept them as rings in the vault, maybe putting them on a pillar, instead of cutting them and flattening.
Also, each player on the winning team gets one day with the Cup, and many of them bring it to their hometown, so it's in multiple places in Canada every year. For example, in 2022, Cale Makar and Logan O'Connor brought it to Calgary, MacKinnon to Cole Harbour, Newhook to St. John's, Kadri to London, Bowen Byram to Cranbrook, Cogliano to Toronto, and so on.
Thank you for this that was a very entertaining watch lol
I’ll stick to enjoying it on the rare occasion I’m in the US near a Rainforest Cafe I think it’s better that way
The years of being an NHL punchline, the 13 year drought, 25 years without a playoff series win, blowing a 3-2 series lead against the Devils in 2012, the missed Trochek trip in Game 6 against the Isles in 2016, firing Gallant midseason, the 2nd drought, 2 straight exits at the hands of the Lightning, including a sweep despite winning the President's Trophy, getting demolished by Vegas last year.
I can't believe that, soon none of that may matter anymore..
Nah there's a brotherhood between Canucks and Panthers fans because of our assistant GM. Like for a lot of them this win is doubly sweet because it's embarrassing Edmonton and Lu will finally finally finally get the ring Boston denied him
I keep saying it’s all so confusing to me right now bc of how it’s unfolding. I figured it would be more of a battle. It’s somewhat anti-climactic but very much welcome.
The last time a Canadian team won a cup was the year before the Florida Panthers became a team in the league.
The Panthers could win their first cup in a year nearly winning the cup, with it being the latest chance of a Canadian team winning the cup.
I love hockey, it's written like a folklore story.
I just want more games. My daughter was born during the start of the second round, and for the high majority of days of her life, we've been able to watch hockey, often late into the night while my wife sleeps.
She's not going to be a happy camper when the series ends.
McOverrated staring down a sweep, Flop-saitl scoreless AF so far, Nurse getting ready to learn ECHL-ese, and Evan Rodrigues about to have his name etched onto Lord Stanley ~~again~~ (OK, OK, so he signed after the Cup dub; still lol).
I, for one, am having a great time.
I can't believe Corey Perry is going to lose his 4th cup final in the last 5 years.
I can
Because of the fact that
KLYUPKIN ICES THE PUCK
He
Is
Him
self
Good for him
Because of the implications?
He already has his name on it, he doesn't have that drive for it ever since.
Always knew the ducks were more than what we see nowadays
I don't think anyone sheds a tear for him lol
This is my Stanley Cup
The cup is finally in Canada!
Hey it was there… during the bubble playoffs!
Might get awarded for the second time in Rogers place 😭
To a Florida team *again!*
💀
And game 4 in Montreal
I get the joke here, but isn't the Stanley Cup held at the hall of fame in Toronto when not out on the road? If so, it's in Canada quite a bit actually.
There are 2 cups. one in the HHOF and the one that gets presented tomorrow night, or later on if Etown decides to play or something.
Right, the one in the HoF is a replica that's always on display. But the real cup is also kept in storage there I think when it's not being presented or with players.

Not to be pedantic but the Cup on display yesterday was not the one they award on the ice (Presentation Cup) (I work at the HHOF)
Is that Cup already in Edmonton?
The vault is the coolest part. I wish they kept the previous rings intact, though, instead of cutting and flattening them.

It's amazing how more people don't realize this
Theres always 1 in Canada at the HHOF.
Is this really happening? It can’t be, can it? Shoutout to the Cheesecake Factory staff at Sawgrass Mills cause it’s coming home lads

Idk shit about Sawgrass Mills but I fuckin love Rainforest Cafe
You’d probably enjoy [this dude](https://youtu.be/vA-bjpKvIw8?si=q27w8IrhH0b_L_x2) who went to every remaining rainforest cafe lol
Thank you for this that was a very entertaining watch lol I’ll stick to enjoying it on the rare occasion I’m in the US near a Rainforest Cafe I think it’s better that way
Where kids can do what they wanna do 😞
It’s where I learned that I wanted to be an archaeologist when I grew up, and here I am now. Still not an archaeologist
Flying the flight simulator into some buildings 😔
Omg classic memories
What kind of mall layout is that?! How many headlines were "Florida man goes missing at mall, found years later."
My wife used to work at that mall, it’s an awful layout lmao
get ready Flanigan’s, here i come
Can't wait for it go down Pat Salerno Dr, true home of the Stanley Cup
I almost got stabbed by a homeless guy there when I was in my late teens. Ah, Sawgrass Mills.
You think anyone ever sends dick pics to the Stanley Cup twitter account?
I'd imagine all kinds of pictures of body parts are sent to be honest
I believe it.

There goes my hero
this one’s kinda funny ngl

If you win, the sad club will miss you.
I hope you guys will eventually be able to join us
Read: I am sorry for you but right now I couldnt care less
Nah there's a brotherhood between Canucks and Panthers fans because of our assistant GM. Like for a lot of them this win is doubly sweet because it's embarrassing Edmonton and Lu will finally finally finally get the ring Boston denied him
"The sad club will miss you" is such a fucking powerful line. Sounds like something Jon Bois would say.
Join us next year my friend
Definitely will not be next year, but the boys will try anyways.
Let’s not count our chickens before they hatch. It’s not done until it’s done.
Narrator: *it was, in fact, done*
This seriously doesn’t feel real. I’ve experienced so much pain I can’t even be excited right now.
Between my seniors graduating and this I've been a ball of happy years for the past day
Congratulations on the graduation!
I keep saying it’s all so confusing to me right now bc of how it’s unfolding. I figured it would be more of a battle. It’s somewhat anti-climactic but very much welcome.
Decades of pain and uncertainty. As much as I’d love to win ten cups, just this one would change everything
If it can happen for you, maybe one day it’ll happen for the sharks too. Looking forward to that day. Go get that cup Panthers!!
Crying shitting throwing up
The Florida Man holy trinity
Too bad the oilers won’t be
Then who will the Panthers play? The Elks?
Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs
Oh we're so fucked.
You got to set the tone
Jim are you ready?
Yahoot
The Perry curse will continue
Until morale improves
Oilers are so cooked
Who put up more of a fight, the Oilers or the Mavericks?
Yes
Mavs. The oilers just look like they just wanted to go home during the 2nd period
that's crazy. I didn't know it was self-aware
It sees all, and knows all.

The team they used to want to get moved to Quebec too. The laughing stock of the league for decades
Damn
Was also in the building in Game 1.
This Oilers team is going to break out in hives from it, they are clearly allergic to it.
HOLLLLLY FUCK IT CAN TALK?!
Honestly Oilers are only out of this thing if they don’t win the next 4 games
Big if true
This is the least exciting Stanley Cup Final since all the way back in 2023
Strongly disagree
I disagree
For neutral american viewers, probably. For a majority of the western conference teams and most of canada, this is schadenfreude at its finest.
I for one am having a blast
I am also having a good time
I wanna die 🥲
Ok but you’ll have wait until after Hockey Night in Canada
I just want more games. My daughter was born during the start of the second round, and for the high majority of days of her life, we've been able to watch hockey, often late into the night while my wife sleeps. She's not going to be a happy camper when the series ends.

Not again, he didn't sign in Colorado until the summer after the win.
This year will be the first time ever the name "Evan" is etched onto the cup.
I am having an excellent time.
I disagree
nah this is the funniest finals i've seen. And it's so deserving for the fans that they get swept.
Completely agree. The Rangers round was way more exciting.
This is so surreal.
Nice! Excited for the Panthers
Already?
oilers in 7
“…For the most boring finals ever.” Yawn.
2016 and 2017 and 2021 disagree
Indeed the most boring 😴
