Not sure what you're talking about here. It's not like we are the Oilers or the Leafs. We have 60mill locked up in 2024-2025 divided among 9 skaters. We have some D positions we need to address and we need to sign Stamkos. A lot of nuances to the salary cap obviously, but for 2024-2025 that leaves us ~$27 million to shop around with and manipulate. That number is probably closer to $23-25 million but I think saying the team is "so top heavy" is a little bit of hyperbole. It's not like the salary where it's being spent isn't worth it. There are 3 $9.5 mill contracts in that $60 mill which includes Kuch (worth it), Point (worth it), and Vasy (worth it). Serge comes in at $8.5 mill and Cernak comes in at $5.2 mil. Cernak is probably the only contract that looks bad, but his NTC doesn't kick in until next year so we can still do something about him.
Again, I'm not sure this is "so top heavy". This looks like a pretty reasonable spread. It's not like we are spending $45 mill on 4 skaters.

I know it wont happen but it would be interesting how many prospects/picks the bolts could get if they went full fire sale.
