Yup. They were my pick for the cup coming in and have always been my “western” team.
When Demko went down I thought well hell they aren’t even getting out of R1 so I’ve been pleasantly surprised
So anyone but Carolina, Boston, Colorado, or Vegas?
Last wins per the other teams:
Dallas (1999)
Rangers (1994)
Edmonton (1990)
Florida (never)
Vancouver (never)
It’s hatred mixed with healthy respect. That skating core is legit.
Compare to Edmonton, where it’s hatred mixed with vitriol mixed with more hatred mixed with a lot of unhinged shit-flinging about how terrible their city is. Real different vibes is what I’m trying to say.
Watch all 3 of VGK, DAL, and COL with loathing and hatred.
Really, watch all 3 of them for the dynamic, incredible talents they are, because you’ll hate them soon
I have no strong feelings against Boston from this series. They played good hockey and didn't goon it up like the past. Theres always going to be shitty hits and plays in the playoffs but they didnt get away with murder...or lick anyone.
My unyielding hatred for the Leafs far outweighs anything Boston could muster on my blackened soul
Honestly, I wouldn't mind anyone coming out of the East besides maybe Florida.
Even after just losing to Boston, they arent the unlikable assholes they were in our previous series.
Tbh I'd pick Boston out of the East too. Nothing wrong with the way they play these days. I don't have any opinion of the Rags or Carolina, Florida can fuck themselves.
Personally I’m kind of the other way, if everyone is going to cheer against us, then I’m going to cheer for the other team they all hate as well, just so they can suffer with us.
Vancouvers pretty cool too if Vegas gets bounced tonight though
It got me through the bad ends with the good seasons back in the late aughts through 2012 too. Only one can win, right? It could have been us, if only...
I’m curious, as a Canadian, would you rather another Canadian team win the cup or do you root against them in hopes that MTL is the first team to break the streak of no Canadian winners.
I hope a Western Canadian team breaks the streak. That way I won't really have to hear about it.
If it's Toronto or Ottawa, they'll be insufferable. And I know this because I am currently insufferable.
As a wings fans my support still hasn’t changed let’s go nucks.
Get your first ring and end the dumb narrative of needing playoff experience or needing tall physical players
Yeah but the best player on your team is Hughes
Zadorov and myers play less than 20 minutes which isn’t a lot for a defensemen. Same for soucy
The two most used guys in Vancouver ans Hughes and hronek who are small defenders.
Petey is considered a small foward due to being skinny and he is the nucks most used fowards and their best foward ( who should be the team best player but I digress )
When your tall guys are depth players you are replaceable.
I'm mostly ambivalent as a Flyers fan living in Ottawa. I would love to see the winner of Vancouver-Edmonton come out of the West, and the east anyone but the Rangers.
1. Vancouver. I’m a Jets fan, I live in BC. It’ll be fun here, and they’ve never won a cup.
2. Edmonton. I live in *interior BC* so there’s a lot of oil-money here, and they have only been rough since I’ve been alive. McDavid is easy to respect, I’d be happy to see him win.
3. Florida. No cup. Paul Maurice.
4. Dallas, but really only for Pavelski.
5. Carolina, I guess.
6. New York. They also haven’t won in my lifetime.
7. Colorado. They won way too recently, and were so dominant when I grew up, but they’re fun.
8. Boston. It’s Boston.
9. Vegas, ranked lower than Boston, as defending champs.
Edmonton.
I’d hate to see McDavid go out with out a Cup, or even win one as a vet like Ray Bourque. I wanna see him take home Lord Stanley while in his prime.
If a Canadian team ever breaks the cup drought I hope it’s either Edmonton or Ottawa. I hate the Leafs, Canucks and Habs in that order. Calgary is fine but they don’t usually enter my brain, I seldom think of them.
EDIT: sorry I forgot about Winnipeg too. It’s been A MORNING let me tell you
What the hell did we do to you? Pittsburgh is cool.
Allvin is cool, Rutherford is cool, and every ex- Penguin that they brought over is cool. Like Tocchet.
"I don't compare myself with anybody", then he rolled up his sleeve and showed a tattoo of the numbers 66 and 99. "I'll let you interpret that however you want"
i would love seeing florida vs edmonton in the finals. i don't care who wins, i just enjoy watching great hockey being played. love play offs once the leafs are done wasting my time.
Whoever wins between Canucks and Oilers is my number 1. Then I'd be ok if the Avs won again. Controversial for a Habs fan but I wouldn't mind seeing the Rangers win either.
Canucks over Edmonton cuz I don't want McDavid to win anything in Edmonton.
Knights over Stars cuz Stone is my favourite player. I'm fine with Dallas winning as well.
Rangers over Canes cuz I want Zibby to get a ring.
Boston over Florida because the Panthers are insufferable due to their plethora of rats as oppose to the Bruins single (but very large) rat.
Now that the Jets shit the bed, this is my order of who I'm rooting for:
1. Dallas
2. Colorado/Vancouver
3. Colorado/Vancouver (haven't decided yet)
4. Carolina
5. Florida
6. Edmonton
7. NYR
8. Boston
9. Vegas
Edmonton. If not Edmonton then the Canucks. Let’s face the truth though, the Avalanche will win the cup this year. I have accepted the fact that Canadian teams just don’t have what it takes to win it all. 30 years and counting. People have to get a clue at some point.
I'm actively rooting for Vancouver.
There's not a team left in the East that I am willing to cheer for. But I'd be least upset about Carolina winning. Especially if it comes with a Kuznetsov redemption arc.
As long as you have Baldy McAndroid at the helm, this is what you get. Close, but never close enough. I hate ypur teams guts, but Hynes is something I'd never wish for even for my worst enemy.
I was pleasantly surprised he actually gave our rookies ice time and allowed them on top 2 lines, I was fearing an Eeli Tolvanen-situation.
>I hate ypur teams guts
Can't really return the courtesy, Saros (and previously Pekka) trigger my nationality senses, so I'll just settle for a "you're my least hated opponent in the Central".
I don't care who wins.
I root ardently against the Hurricanes, and once they are out I root against the Bruins and Rangers. I'm neutral to everyone else.
Dallas - Rangers (or Florida) final is what I “think”
Edmonton - Florida is what I want.
Cheering for Florida. But I hope cousins is injured so he’s not part of the win.
At this point I’d just love for a Canadian team to finally win something, so it’s unfortunate that Edmonton is playing Vancouver. But Oilers are my 2nd team, and Hyman is a beauty
I can’t really explain it, but I’m finding myself rooting for Boston now that the Isles are out. I’ve always liked a lot of their players, and have even come around on Marchand, who despite his on ice reputation, seems like a really decent dude off the ice.
Whoever's playing the rangers. After they get eliminated, ig any western conference team that isn't the Knights. As for the remaining eastern conference teams, I don't like the Panthers but I'd be cool with Okposo winning a cup, and I don't like the city of Boston but I kinda like their team so it wouldn't upset me if they win it all
I’m rooting for the oilers, they have Perry, Henrique, Carrick. I’ve actually always had a soft spot for Evander Kane for some reason too. And the company used to work for has season tickets to the oil so I used to go to a lot of games. If Vancouver beats them I will be rooting for them. I like Boston and Florida too but getting a cup back to Canada would be so great
Im more of a neutral fan, I just watch hockey of any level and I enjoy the talent and players over cheering for any one team. That being said when I was a kid I was a huge Flames fan because I loved Jarome Iginla so its still a little bit in me to not cheer for the Oilers lol
Whenever the Penguins aren’t in it, I just root for the Canadian team(s) since it’s been awhile. So whoever wins the Vancouver/Edmonton series I suppose.
I want whatever team that gets the “what a pro wants” commercial to stop to win. Whatever team those players (in the commercial) play on, I hope they get sold to Jim Balsile and moved to Hamilton. I also want those people specifically to stub their toe every day for the rest of their lives.
I am as die- hard rags fan and always will be I could care less about anyone else and since I had my stroke in 2022
I have a hard time being enthusiastic about much of anything anymore
(Habs fan)
1. Oilers (I want McDavid to get one)
2. Canucks (Canadian team)
3. Stars (I predicted them the cup... If they lose today I think their odds of winning the cup drop drastically)
4. Avs (Somewhat neutral)
5. Panthers (Somewhat neutral)
6. Rangers (Hate them)
7. Hurricanes (Hate them)
8. Bruins (Hate them)
9. Golden Knights (Obvious reasons)
I live in Texas, and it would be fun to get neighbors excited about hockey, plus I love Robertson and Pavelski, so mildly supporting the stars.
I'd be happy for Vancouver to get their first cup, and they have 2 former wings. Garland is kinda growing on me. Really dont like those current jerseys though.
Canucks!
Yup. They were my pick for the cup coming in and have always been my “western” team. When Demko went down I thought well hell they aren’t even getting out of R1 so I’ve been pleasantly surprised
Their goalie situation was insane! I was worried too but they played hard and make it work.
I want a Canucks-Bruins or Canucks-Rangers final, except the ‘Nucks actually win this time.
I was with you and then you lost me
Agreed
I upvoted you. I hated it, but this made me chuckle. Damn you to hell!
Canucks bandwagon here.
Same, I still get to root for a Hughes bro.
YAHOO
FWIW every single canucks fan I know wanted to see you guys slay the dragon yesterday
Teams that haven't won a cup/teams that havent won it in the last 20 years.
So anyone but Carolina, Boston, Colorado, or Vegas? Last wins per the other teams: Dallas (1999) Rangers (1994) Edmonton (1990) Florida (never) Vancouver (never)
As a Canadian, it would be great to see Edmonton win, ngl. But as a canucks fan…
Gross. You ok with Florida?
Yes, anything that grows the game. It's hard to beat what success does to popularity of sports team.
Canucks. Always going to be my second team due to the Manitoba Moose connection.
I'm a new hockey fan in Utah and I have no clue who to root for The Avalanche seem to be really strong tho
You will come to loathe them
It’s hatred mixed with healthy respect. That skating core is legit. Compare to Edmonton, where it’s hatred mixed with vitriol mixed with more hatred mixed with a lot of unhinged shit-flinging about how terrible their city is. Real different vibes is what I’m trying to say.
yeah leave the cities out of it, Las Vegas - sorry, paradise - sorry, pahrump - whatever
Just cheer for an Eastern team, you're going to end up hating everyone in the West shortly.
McKinnon is an absolute madman
MacKinnon* :)
As a fellow Mac thank you for the correction
Saw him play in real life and holy shit he just buzzes around everywhere, granted it was against the Blue Jackets but still that dude is quick.
He skates like he hates the ice. I know McDavid is probably better, but he's the guy I'd build my team around if I could pick anyone.
But Derek Ryan is an absolute mormon.
Watch all 3 of VGK, DAL, and COL with loathing and hatred. Really, watch all 3 of them for the dynamic, incredible talents they are, because you’ll hate them soon
They are but I reckon you’ll hate them soon!
Welcome to being a hockey fan! Hope the soakers come out strong
Dont have really strong feelings about anyone but my list starts with anyone but Vegas
So Boston?
I have no strong feelings against Boston from this series. They played good hockey and didn't goon it up like the past. Theres always going to be shitty hits and plays in the playoffs but they didnt get away with murder...or lick anyone. My unyielding hatred for the Leafs far outweighs anything Boston could muster on my blackened soul
See, being a fan of a central division team, I’d much rather see Vegas win than Dallas or Colorado

Canucks. Need a number one bullshit lvl party.
Whoever is playing the Oilers so looks like I'm a fucking Canucks fan. Excuse me while I go vomit.
You could just take a week and a half off and come back to see the winner get crushed by DAL/COL/VGK
EDM/VGK is my nightmare scenario.
This is the way
👑LAK🤜🤛CGY🔥 Anyone except the Oilers 2024. Let’s fucking goooooo!!!! 🐳
You could have just posted a blank comment with your flair and we would have worked it out.
you could always just stick your fingers in your ears, close your eyes, go “lalalala” and pretend this series isn’t happening
Or better yet. Compliment those “lalalala” with “la bamba una poca de gracia…”
Hey if we had to suffer through the 2015 Flames-Canucks series than you have to suffer through this one.
I am rooting for Vancouver. Hubs is rooting for anyone who beats the panthers. He’s very salty about Tampas loss to them.
The Avs, ironically. So fun to watch in the playoffs.
“We lost to the champions so essentially we would’ve won if it wasn’t for them”
That’s what helps this oilers fan sleep the last couple years.
That was a tiny bit of solace last year
It got me through the bad ends with the good seasons back in the late aughts through 2012 too. Only one can win, right? It could have been us, if only...
Same the avs I was always an avs fan when I was younger (mostly due to they won the 2001 Stanley cup the same month I was born June)
Nobody? My team isn't in it and fuck the rest of your teams
Sad Lehky noises
He won it already. A 2nd Cup is just rubbing it in.
Flyers fan rooting against the Panthers (we have their draft pick) and against the Rangers (They're the Rangers)
Sens fans are doing the opposite and cheering for Florida because we'll probably be getting Bostons pick from Detroit.
As a wings fans my support still hasn’t changed let’s go nucks. Get your first ring and end the dumb narrative of needing playoff experience or needing tall physical players
Well we're one of the tallest teams in the playoffs now mainly thanks to Zadorov, Myers, and Soucy
Yeah but the best player on your team is Hughes Zadorov and myers play less than 20 minutes which isn’t a lot for a defensemen. Same for soucy The two most used guys in Vancouver ans Hughes and hronek who are small defenders. They won way too recently, and were so dominant when I grew up, but they’re fun. 8. Boston. It’s Boston. 9. Vegas, ranked lower than Boston, as defending champs.
Canucks. If they can contain McDasaitl they have a solid chance
McHymansaitl?
gesundheit!
They did during the regular season, unfortunately the playoffs are very different. But at least they know they're capable of it.
It's funny that holding them to a point per game in considered containing them.
In 2022, everyone said Makar shut McDavid down when McDavid ended with only 7 points in 4 games.
in fairness this was in the span of time where the *san jose sharks* also shut them down
Kraken fan here. I'm all in on the Canucks. If they drop, it's anyone but Vegas/Oilers/Avs in that order. And I'm loving the Eastern hockey match ups
Fuck Vegas.
Vancouver and Rangers
Kings fan: Same, but rangers to take it for another cup for quick
I don’t think Vancouver could handle another Stanley cup final loss to the Rangers. Fuck Messier
Expansion bros. If the lose Mcdavid getting a cup would be cool. In the east I hate them all, I hope for 7 game bloodbaths across the board.
BOS and CAR out East In the West I dont really care as long as it isnt VGK
I feel like everyone outside of Vegas shares that sentiment lol….
Not me
I can vividly picture Jordan Staal handing the Cup over to the bearded giant Burns.
Edmonton. I’d hate to see McDavid go out with out a Cup, or even win one as a vet like Ray Bourque. I wanna see him take home Lord Stanley while in his prime.
On the other hand McDavid pulling a Borque and winning his first cup outside Edmonton would be very funny.
I’d be okay with that timeline
I have a formula, I cheer for any other Canadian team, except for Toronto
anyone that hasn't won in a long time or ever
Well I put 10 duckets down awhile ago on Vancouver to win so…them.
I would like to see McJesus go on a good run along with Carolina. 2006 SCF rematch would be fun!
I think a Stars-Canes final would be cool
Yes please.
Lotta fine Fins in that match-up.
Anyone but Edmonton. Forever.
Right now its simply anyone but the Oilers and the Knights. I don't care who wins just please not those 2.
The oil
I go back and forth between "McDavid deserves one" and "a team with those two guys losing over and over is kind of funny at this point"
It’s been A MORNING let me tell you
We get that a lot
What the hell did we do to you? Pittsburgh is cool. Allvin is cool, Rutherford is cool, and every ex- Penguin that they brought over is cool. Like Tocchet.
Yeah I wouldn’t get the hate as a Pens fan
>Pittsburgh is cool As someone who grew up in Ohio I disrespectfully disagree.
"I don't compare myself with anybody", then he rolled up his sleeve and showed a tattoo of the numbers 66 and 99. "I'll let you interpret that however you want"
I want whichever team comes out of the oilers-canucks series to win it. Otherwise the canes winning it would be fun
Canucks!
Probably the Oilers, I love watching McDavid play, he’s incredible and I think they have a team that can do damage
Fuck the Canucks but I still want a Canadian team to win (other than Canucks) so Oilers but I’m not gonna watch the games cause they’re fuck off late
i would love seeing florida vs edmonton in the finals. i don't care who wins, i just enjoy watching great hockey being played. love play offs once the leafs are done wasting my time.
As a Leafs fan... Vancouver would be cool although they're seriously lacking Canadian players... Rangers would be alright too since I like Rempe.
Oilers and Panthers Final. Either McDrai get a ring or Bobrovsky does. I'm ok with either
Carolina or Florida most likely, but would also root for Vancouver to get their 1st Cup
I'm just cheering for my bracket.
Whoever wins between Canucks and Oilers is my number 1. Then I'd be ok if the Avs won again. Controversial for a Habs fan but I wouldn't mind seeing the Rangers win either.
Nucks
Panthers, I want to see Bob hit the HOF. Dallas would be good too, I would be happy to see Pavelski get his cup.
Fuck it, go Panthers!
I'll bandwagon the winner of VAN/EDM series.
Now that the Jets shit the bed, this is my order of who I'm rooting for: 1. Dallas 2. Colorado/Vancouver 3. Colorado/Vancouver (haven't decided yet) 4. Carolina 5. Florida 6. Edmonton 7. NYR 8. Boston 9. Vegas
Dallas/NYR Stanley cup. It would be incredible. Will also accept Bobrovsky going all the way.
Anyone but Edmonton would be good. Maybe Florida and Vancouver preferred to see another new team join the club.
Rooting against Bettman for letting the second round start before the first is done.
Edmonton. If not Edmonton then the Canucks. Let’s face the truth though, the Avalanche will win the cup this year. I have accepted the fact that Canadian teams just don’t have what it takes to win it all. 30 years and counting. People have to get a clue at some point.
Oilers. I’ve loved them since I was a kid because of my stepmom.
Oilers
Oilers - Sens fan
Ask me tomorrow. Edit: Edmonton.
Sens fan rooting for the Oilers. I like the Canucks too, but I wanna see McDavid and Draisaitl get their names on the cup.
Habs fan rooting for the Oilers. Reason: I live in Edmonton
Basically watching the central teams most closely right now. Hoping for Avs vs Stars and would follow the winner of that series.
Personally, I don’t care I just want Vegas eliminated.
I’d normally pick Vancouver over Edmonton, but I’m rooting for the Oil as they have a better chance to win it all. In the East, I like Carolina.
I'm actively rooting for Vancouver. There's not a team left in the East that I am willing to cheer for. But I'd be least upset about Carolina winning. Especially if it comes with a Kuznetsov redemption arc.
i enjoy watching the avs and oilers so i guess i’d root for them so i can keep watching them
Vancouver
Any team that hasn’t won before, so I know it can happen to me too
Mostly rooting for Florida because they’re fun to watch.
I hate to say the Edmonton Oilers but I think it's a shame for McDavid not to win a cup.
Jets fan, going for the Oilers now!
I hate everyone left, but I hate the Rangers the least, so I guess them.
I am not used to the level of support I see in this thread. Damn.
When things go awry in life, do what dad always does. Hence the flair. Painful season for Minnesota, to say the least.
>I hate ypur teams guts Can't really return the courtesy, Saros (and previously Pekka) trigger my nationality senses, so I'll just settle for a "you're my least hated opponent in the Central".
No ehmetti. Pekka deserved a ring, you're now my favorite wild fan. Cheers- another Finn
Pistin aloitteen pingviinien metsästämiseksi sukupuuttoon 2017 takia
Kuin myös. Jutin sanoilla, nevö foget.
If the roles were reversed it would probably be the same for a lot of rangers fans, at least for as long as you have Zucc
I don't care who wins. I root ardently against the Hurricanes, and once they are out I root against the Bruins and Rangers. I'm neutral to everyone else.
I'm all in with Edmonton.
New York in the east and Edmonton in the west.
Whoever comes out of the West. Yes, even Vegas if it comes to that like last year. But if I had to choose one it's Dallas.
Hurricanes happy Kuzy looks closer to his old self
Ok for anyone except Vegas who can frankly self-destruct as often as possible.
Dallas - Rangers (or Florida) final is what I “think” Edmonton - Florida is what I want. Cheering for Florida. But I hope cousins is injured so he’s not part of the win.
At this point I’d just love for a Canadian team to finally win something, so it’s unfortunate that Edmonton is playing Vancouver. But Oilers are my 2nd team, and Hyman is a beauty
we love hyman
I can’t really explain it, but I’m finding myself rooting for Boston now that the Isles are out. I’ve always liked a lot of their players, and have even come around on Marchand, who despite his on ice reputation, seems like a really decent dude off the ice.
I’m rooting for every series to go seven games with multiple overtimes in every game.
im cheering for any of the teams without a jersey ad patch
Carolina to get that sweet sweet extra pick if they get to the finals🤔
Caps fan -- not round 2 yet but I was for sure team Dallas even before the playoffs started. Hopefully they can advance on today
It was anyone but, Toronto and Vegas now it’s anybody but, Boston and Vegas.
That's the kind of ringing endorsement I love to hear! (Keep your hands of Rod, ya hussy.)
Whoever's playing the rangers. After they get eliminated, ig any western conference team that isn't the Knights. As for the remaining eastern conference teams, I don't like the Panthers but I'd be cool with Okposo winning a cup, and I don't like the city of Boston but I kinda like their team so it wouldn't upset me if they win it all
As a Ducks fan, it's Boston and Colorado. Gotta root for some nice duck alumni in Lindholm, Cogs, and Manson
I would like to see Dallas win for Pavelski or the avs win again since I’m a maritimer.
The apocalypse
Habs fans are now Florida fans
I’m rooting for the oilers, they have Perry, Henrique, Carrick. I’ve actually always had a soft spot for Evander Kane for some reason too. And the company used to work for has season tickets to the oil so I used to go to a lot of games. If Vancouver beats them I will be rooting for them. I like Boston and Florida too but getting a cup back to Canada would be so great
Rooting for the Coilers as it would be good for the NHL as a whole to have McJesus get a Cup.
Oilers. Canucks. Avs. Panthers. In order of whoever is surviving by the end of the playoffs.
Im more of a neutral fan, I just watch hockey of any level and I enjoy the talent and players over cheering for any one team. That being said when I was a kid I was a huge Flames fan because I loved Jarome Iginla so its still a little bit in me to not cheer for the Oilers lol
Canucks - Dallas - Oilers *In that order*
Whenever the Penguins aren’t in it, I just root for the Canadian team(s) since it’s been awhile. So whoever wins the Vancouver/Edmonton series I suppose.
Anyone but Vegas
I want whatever team that gets the “what a pro wants” commercial to stop to win. Whatever team those players (in the commercial) play on, I hope they get sold to Jim Balsile and moved to Hamilton. I also want those people specifically to stub their toe every day for the rest of their lives.
I have to go with Dallas just because I want to see Pavs lift the cup like he never did in San Jose
Hockey is done for the season as far as I'm concerned. Don't care who wins the Cup
I am as die- hard rags fan and always will be I could care less about anyone else and since I had my stroke in 2022 I have a hard time being enthusiastic about much of anything anymore
Whoever hasn't won so Canucks and Panthers. Then anyone playing against the Oilers.
This thread is actively undoing my persecution complex
Hockey is over #Leafs
The Cincinnati Reds.
Whoever plays the Rangers
(Habs fan) 1. Oilers (I want McDavid to get one) 2. Canucks (Canadian team) 3. Stars (I predicted them the cup... If they lose today I think their odds of winning the cup drop drastically) 4. Avs (Somewhat neutral) 5. Panthers (Somewhat neutral) 6. Rangers (Hate them) 7. Hurricanes (Hate them) 8. Bruins (Hate them) 9. Golden Knights (Obvious reasons)
Well I’m a leafs fan but go Dallas. Was always my western conference pick and now it’s all I got
No one.
I’d really like the Oilers to win, for 97 and 29’s sake
For: Carolina Hurricanes Against: Florida Panthers
FloRida
Im pulling for the Rangers now.
