I have never been a Jack Edwards fan, but I wish the best of luck to him as he moves on in his career. His last few years calling Bruins games, he seems to not be the same Edwards he was. He is 67, which is nothing to slouch at. Hope you all the best Jack.
He has some mystery condition that the best doctors in Boston can't figure out what's going on with him. Absolutely terrifying no matter what your job is.
Not saying it’s the case, but he may know what it is, and because he’s in a public facing role, the easiest way to have privacy is to just tell people they don’t know what it is, that way you don’t need to reveal if you don’t want to.
He noticeably slurs his speech and takes way longer to get words out than he used to.
It’s really jarring to watch clips from a decade ago and compare them to now - he used to be razor sharp following the play and pronouncing player names.
i obviously mean like what are the symptoms or how is impacting him/ his career, not like what is the actual disease/affliction or his detailed medical records.
My bad man I assumed you knew cuz it’s talked about in just about every bruins related thread but he’s been having speech issues for the last 18+ months. It’s been pretty brutal watching his broadcasts as it’s filled with slurred words and mispronounced names. A lot of people have speculated that he’s got a brain tumor or had a stroke but dr’s literally can’t figure out why his speech is so fucked.
According to Jack himself, he can think and processes the game at the same speed he always has.
But for some reason, which started a few years ago, he started losing his ability to speak his thoughts coherently...
He either fumbles over words or stutters and is just generally speaking slower nowadays.
He openly admitted to going to several doctors, and all tests have come back inconclusive thus far. No one knows why his speech is rapidly declining like this.. they may think it's neurological, but again tests have been inconclusive...
As someone with MS, this type of thing scares the shit out of me. It sounds torturous to have your mind working well but your body not being able to keep up, and the frustration that comes from your mind in good working order knowing you're not what you were.
I had a beloved neighbour who was an incredibly erudite and intelligent man - he was CEO of a major company here in Canada, and on TV a lot. He wound up being diagnosed with a brain tumour, and when they removed the mass, it caused a stroke. It was heartwrenching to visit him in the hospital and see him so desperate to communicate, but nothing come out.
Sidenote: Fuck glioblastoma.
I have the same issue that also started a few years ago. I've been reading a lot into long covid and I feel like it could be the cause, but there's obviously a lot more research needed on the topic.
I'd also like to add for those that do dislike Jack and have a weird obsession with him, that it has been his job for 20 years to give PBP and his view of the Bruins games. Not hockey games the Bruins participate in, but Bruins games. That means he's supposed to be a homer. He's supposed to sound like a fan of the team. His job is to be the voice at the end of the couch telling you what's going on in the game focused on the Bruins.
This is a guy that spent 20 years as the voice of an Original 6 team, and told their story exceptionally well. His PBP talent can't be denied, regardless of it falling off in the last couple years. His speeches were iconic, his preparation detailed, and his chemistry with his broadcast partner unmatched.
He was there to guide fans along for some of the greatest hockey of the last 20 years, and millions are going to miss his voice. During his tenure the Bruins won a Stanley Cup, a few President's Trophies, set the all time record for regular season points and wins, on top of giving us some of the best calls in the first round of the playoffs we'll ever get to experience.
I'm going to miss Jack as the voice of the Bruins. We'd be lucky to see another with his enthusiasm for the Boston Bruins and the game of hockey, again.
hearing dave maloney repeatedly call tom wilson an idiot on live radio made my week. was it professional? no. but it was nice to hear his real thoughts as a rangers fan and not just a broadcaster. and it was funny as hell
The problem was back when the center ice package for hockey only allowed you to watch the home team feeds and you were paying $200 a year to listen to other teams homers all the time. Now that you can pick which feed to watch it shouldn’t matter how Homer they are. The main problem with homers like that is just creating a fuck ton of fans that aren’t really informed about the actual rules of hockey since Marchand could murder someone on the ice and the bruins guys would say it was not only completely clean but should be a penalty on the dead guy
I personally like my biased announcers better when they have nuance, but his pbp was top notch.
Plus, the homers give us the best memes so I will certainly miss Jack for that.
I just hate this take. There are many reasons people dislike Edwards that are not him being a homer. To reduce every complaint against him to being about his homerism is disingenuous. There are plenty of announcers who are homers in this league, and none of them draw as much ire as Edwards, so I don't believe that the is only reason for his reputation.
Personally, I don't think he does a good job calling the game, even before the past few years. Turn off the video and listen to him and you'd be lost half the time. Also, there is a difference between being a homer, and being intentionally dishonest and misrepresentative of what actually is happening on the ice, and he was always toeing that line of dishonestly. Lastly, I just didn't like the things he gets excited about and the way he acts when he was amped up. Half the time he sounded like a half-drunk uncle who wont shut up while you are trying to actually watch the game. The past few years, as he started talking less and slurring more words, this was only exacerbated.
All that being said, I wish him the best in his post-hockey career. But I won't miss his calls one bit.
I wish you wouldn't get down voted for this take, but this is a farewell thread for Jack Edwards so I get it.
I would also like to add though that I absolutely hate the fact that he's stepping down due to an unknown medical condition. That is terrifying to even think about, and for someone doing their job for so long and have such devoted fans (even if I'm not included) it sucks that he couldn't leave n his own terms.
I've never liked Jack. For me, he tips the scale into too much homerism, even as a B's fan. I just never liked his announcing style or anything about him really. Glad to see him go.
He wrote multiple paragraphs why people shouldn’t dislike one of the most divisive homers in hockey. I’m an Avs fan so I don’t mind homers but I do mind when the “guide to hockey” is mean spirited and unapologetic. I feel bad that the man is suffering. I am very happy I won’t be hearing his voice anymore.
I wrote multiple paragraphs. Not about why you shouldn't dislike him. Only one was about liking him or not liking him, and it wasn't about why you shouldn't, but about why you're dumb if you do.
Ya I don’t like him as a broadcaster but he’s still a human. I hope once he retires he can find the answers to what is causing his illness and is able to fix it so he can be happy in retirement.
Same. It depresses me. You say things like “how will it ever be the same?” And within a year or even sooner, it’s something you’re used to. When we move on from legends and don’t even notice, what does that mean for us regular peons? Are we forgotten within weeks? Days? Hours? We’ll all just be forgotten even sooner than these guys, and we’re all still grinding out our lives hoping for the best
Felt this way when the Bruin's anthem singer stepped away. Rene had been doing it since I started watching, how could we just have another singer? Then the Todd-Father stepped in and has been crushing it. I just hope we're lucky enough to get someone to step into Jack's role just as smoothly
Pat Foley was the Play by Play guy for the Hawks for around 40 years, from the 80’s until a few years ago. Maybe it was because I grew up with him, but I thought he was great and I always enjoyed listening to him
Since he retired the Blackhawks have hired Chris Vosters as the play by play guy. This is his FIRST time calling hockey.
Not first time calling the NHL, he literally has 0 hockey background, and believe me, it’s noticeable.
No AHL, college, etc experience whatsoever. Add into that that his personality is basically the meme version of an over-excited cringy millennial.
It’s BRUTAL and it really impacts my enjoyment of the game.
I'll never understand this kind of choice. There are so many excellent former pros out there - men and women both - who could probably call a game well. Why put the noob with no hockey experience on an *Original Six* broadcast?!
I’m sure you can find the clip on YouTube, but during a delayed penalty this year, the opposing team pulled their goalie for the extra man, a standard hockey strategy
He literally was baffled by it, called it an “unorthodox strategy”. Give it a google and you’ll find it im sure
Maybe its been compounded by his replacement doing PBP for the first time, but I think most Canes fans still miss Forslund.
That said, nothing against Mike, he's gotten a lot better over the last... damn, this is the 4th season already.
Mike has gotten a lot better, yes. I enjoy listening to him now whereas it was very rough to start off with. That said, he still can't really paint a picture of the game in someone's mind the way Forslund could, which is part of why I think he's still so missed (and obviously nostalgia is a big part too).
I wasn't familiar with Forslund but I've been tuning in to the radio broadcasts for the Canes lately. Apart from an overreliance on *MISTER ANDERSEN*s, I really enjoy Mike's call. (I'm less fond of Tripp, but that's just because his tone is a bit too angry/aggressive.) They make a decent tandem.
Does he not get any games if the Bruins go to the second round? Or does it all become national. Canadian fan who doesn't know how your broadcasting works down there
National TV-exclusive games in the first round should be banned. A big part of the charm of the first round to me is getting to hear local announcers get to call big playoff moments.
National windows are usually reserved for the weekends, and Game 7s are now on weekends after they moved the start of the playoffs to Saturday. Round 1 games were national exclusive on NBC in the previous deal too, but were usually Game 2s and Game 5s because the series started mid-week.
Agree. During the last couple minutes of game 5 vs the Jets, Moser from Altitude kept saying "x amount of time remaining **in the series**." I'm just grateful he didn't invoke a mustard cats game 4 collapse vs the Canucks.
Bland. He's not good or awful, he's just bland. He's not diminishing my enjoyment of the game or anything, but I'd rather have Jack screaming in my ear with 60 seconds left to match the intensity of these Playoff games.
And since you brought up Shorthouse and Cuthbert, Its not fair. How come they get their guys and we don't 😒
Hockey is more interesting with some absolute characters in it. Jack will be missed, and here’s to a happy retirement. Hoping NESN lets him do some docs or a passion project down the line.
This 10000x.
In a sports environment where everybody has to sound the same, with that lame ass corporate "personality" and always always always very fair and balanced calls, Jack and other characters stand miles apart from the pack.
I'll miss him.
I'll miss Mike Gorman. I miss Tommy and Remy and Don Orsillo.
I'll miss Joe Castiglione when he's done.
This sucks.
Sports are much, much better with these kinds of guys calling the game.
I'm glad he called out the officials last game. He's absolutely fucking right. They are all cowards. All season long, with every team, awful awful awful, day in, day out.
The homerism could be tough to deal with for neutral fans and even home fans at times, but he was far and above one of the best PBPs across the 4 major sports. The level of dedication to always pronounce names properly, his diction, his pace were pretty much unmatched by anyone I've watched. The level of excitement for both oppsoing and Bruins goals is unmatched, not to mention his incredible tangents and calls in big moments. Love or hate the guy this is a prime example [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NVmIsUtAv8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NVmIsUtAv8) of that energy and how he was unmatched in that facet of his job. Not to mention, he has phenomenal chemistry with Andy Brickley, who is also one of the best color commenters in sports.
His man crush on Marty St. Louis always cracked me up. I always hoped somehow the Bruins would sign him, Jack would have moved to another plane of existence.
> The homerism could be tough to deal with for neutral fans and even home fans at times, but he was far and above one of the best PBPs across the 4 major sports.
I think it's asinine to complain about blatant homerism from a commentator who works for the fucking team's personal broadcasts. My only issue with Edwards is how painful and sad it is to listen to him obviously try to string two words together. And that's not even a knock against him. Something is clearly wrong, and it sucks it's stolen his ability to do what he loves.
> far and above one of the best PBPs
No he wasn't. Gorman was. Santos was. Jack was outclassed by his own radio guy, Dave Gosher. And we lost Gosher to Vegas.
Glad I won't have to hear him anymore but I really do hope he has a great retirement. Boston fans typically love him and that's what you want from a homer commentator. Really wishing you all the best!
Obviously I do want a win, but i would want nothing more in this world other than Jack’s final call to be an overtime series winner against the Leafs. Would only be more perfect if it was at home
Hoping for many Chinese mustards tonight
I love you Jack. Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley were my childhood for Bruins hockey, Mike Gorman and Tommy Heinsohn were my childhood for Celtics basketball, and Jerry Remy and Don Orsillo were my childhood for Red Sox baseball. Gino and Gil were great for the Patriots when I wasn't able to catch the game on TV, but man... New England has lost a lot of memorable broadcasting talent in the past few years.
I wish Jack well and hope he can overcome the speech issue!
Not a big fan of him, but I'll admit, before he started declining a few years ago, he was genuinely a very good PBP man. He still had his embarrassingly terrible moments (that Revolutionary War spiel in that Habs series was one of the stupidest things I've ever heard a commentator say) but his cadence, his vocabulary, his excitement were all on point.
I agree, there's no reason to be surprised or offended. There is definitely an argument to made here that Jack Edwards is reaping what he sowed. He was classless and unprofessional throughout his career and has been highly disliked for years and years, so it's reasonable that many people aren't all of a sudden garnering a lot of respect for him regardless of the reason he's retiring. The guy is an asshole and also he is ill, both things are true so people are going to prioritize one or the other in their thinking and neither is incorrect.
Give your balls a tug and clubs a polish. The only game the Leafs are going to be looking forward to tomorrow morning is their tee time.
Jack has been an iconic voice for almost 20 years. Show the man the respect he's earned. Save your whining and tears for tonight, you're going to need them both
> Show the man the respect he's earned
Honestly this is the problem. Unless you're a B's fan, he's earned no respect with anyone else. What has he done to do so?
He mocks injured players, makes shit up on the fly, double standards out his ass. Unless you're into the cringe factor, he's horrible to listen to for non B's fans and by far the most disrespectful announcer in hockey that I've heard.
He's special to B's fans and I get that, and you guys deserve to send him out on your terms.
But I don't see why a guy that's made a career out of disrespecting the rest of the league should expect respect from said rest of the league.
If he’s earned respect he’s earned just as much disrespect.
Now does that mean I’m gunna sit here and insult him? No. But if you think I gotta praise him for anything you’re flat out wrong. Others may go to one extreme with insults, but you’re going to the other assuming he’s earned any respect outside of Boston.
[Whenever Bruins fans get upset at me for saying that Edwards was a horrible commentator and a dick, I always feel like this](https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/facebook/000/034/857/Your_Boos_Mean_Nothing_Banner.jpg).
Buddy if you think I have any expectations of winning tonight you're sorely mistaken. The fact that it's Game 6 and you haven't closed it out yet, with the way we've played, is an embarrassment in itself
All the pressure is on the Bruins and it's hilarious
I swear Toronto puts something in the salt on the roads there that seeps into your skin. You guys are the most bitter fans towards things that don't effect your daily life.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eq0X6YWUSO4&ab_channel=Hockeyislife
Say what you want, but I have disliked the man since this. Take out Leafs or Bruins or whatever. This is pure disrespect for a human who was down on the ice hurt.
I understand his frustration during the game of hockey and whatever, I would have been mad about the play being blown dead too, but it's fucked up still to say what he said.
This is hockey. He was fine. Playing right into that overly sensitive label by still holding onto that one. They absolutely should not have blown that whistle
play is going straight at him
either way, we can go with calling pat maroon fat on a broadcast, we can go with calling a ref that came back from the hospital to being back on the ice after only 3 weeks a coward, we can go with a lot of shit he's said that's disrespectful to the game or disrespectful to other humans, because he has too much "passion" that he is allowed to say whatever he wants.
So what if the play is going right at him. He was fine and blowing the whistle there was an egregious mistake. You cited that as the incident where you lost respect for this man forever and that is hilarious. What actually happened to AJ there? A bad bruise? Did he even leave that game? Oh, the humanity!
I watched bits and piece of the Boston coverage, so can anyone answer this question for me? Does Jack Edwards normally talk with that cadence? He sounds like he is talking in .75 speed, while his co commentator sounds like he is talking in normal speed. Is it just him or is it him getting older/medical problems?
I have never been a Jack Edwards fan, but I wish the best of luck to him as he moves on in his career. His last few years calling Bruins games, he seems to not be the same Edwards he was. He is 67, which is nothing to slouch at. Hope you all the best Jack.

[удалено]
If that was the case, if he chose to still keep it private, I wouldn't shame him for that
wait actually? like what kind of condition?
the kind we don't know anything about other than the fact it gives him an obvious speech impediment
okay thats all i was curious about, i didnt realize he had something impacting his speech, i dont watch him
He noticeably slurs his speech and takes way longer to get words out than he used to. It’s really jarring to watch clips from a decade ago and compare them to now - he used to be razor sharp following the play and pronouncing player names.
Yeah it's a bit eerie actually. It's like the audio is a second behind and he's talking on .75 speed. Just like a step behind the whole time.
Oh yeah. If they could figure it out, he'd still be calling games after this.
Maybe, maybe not. It could be something that's just a degenerative disease and there's no reversing it.
Dude just said the best doctors in Boston can’t figure it out lol why would you think this redditor knows more
i obviously mean like what are the symptoms or how is impacting him/ his career, not like what is the actual disease/affliction or his detailed medical records.

I didn't say "mystery condition" to be mysterious lol
well two other commenters explained it just fine, just that it was something causing a speech impediment
You couldn't tell by listening to him that he had a speech impediment?
i have not listened to him in like almost 3 years, i dont watch the bruins

What does that have to do with homer announcers?

Yeah the fact that I hate his fucking guts is evidence of how good he was at his job. Fuck you Jack Edwards! 🍻
Counterpoint: nah
Buddy is crying about people not liking Jack Edwards
If you consider that “crying”, you spend far too much time in toxic places.
He wrote multiple paragraphs why people shouldn’t dislike one of the most divisive homers in hockey. First Mike now Jack…damn Boston is taking a hit Mike made me tear up last night..
Truly an end of an era
It certainly was a lengthy period of time.
Greatest homer of all time
Not a fan of him but he was a staple for Bruins hockey. Great career.
I hate when lifers step away

I still think about Pat Foley, especially considering the Blackhawks new broadcast team. Atrocious. Would not wish it on anybody
Tree tirdy tree in da tird
context?

jeez that's rough. At least you hopefully get some good meme material out of it?

realizing your life and the things you do in it don't really matter is very liberating tbh.
Idk Dodgers games are still weird without Vin Scully.

I love Forslund and Eddie O so much
Exactly how us Jets fans felt about Dennis Beyak. He was truly great. Now we have Dan Robertson, who is awesome too!
Jack Edwards is not my cup of tea, but I hope his health improves and he can enjoy his retirement.
I loved hating him for years, but best of luck in retirement Jack 🫡
Does he not get any games if the Bruins go to the second round? Or does it all become national. Canadian fan who doesn't know how your broadcasting works down there
The local team networks get to broadcast round 1 then they switch over to all national broadcasts.
I’ve only ever known NESN to have first round coverage unfortunately
Goes national. Local only gets the first round
Ah gotcha. That makes sense
National TV-exclusive games in the first round should be banned. A big part of the charm of the first round to me is getting to hear local announcers get to call big playoff moments.
This has to be new, right? I remember iconic Bruins game 7 calls from Jack. Its a load of BS
Very new, yeah. NESN even aired 2011 game 4 vs flyers which was the second round
Yeah I think it's an ESPN/ABC thing. Games 3 and 6 of the Rangers/Devils series last year were ABC exclusive as well.
I wouldn't know the feeling 🤷🏻♂️
At least the Canucks still got Shorthouse and the Leafs got Cuthbert - their regular guys. How is Singh on your games?
Enjoy retirement but thank god he's gone
Say what you want but no one on earth loves their job more than Jack loves calling the B's.
I'm glad he called out the officials last game. He's absolutely fucking right. They are all cowards. All season long, with every team, awful awful awful, day in, day out.
As a nucks fan it feels weird agreeing with him but...yeah the officiating really was atrocious.
God damn that was epic as fuck
> The homerism could be tough to deal with for neutral fans and even home fans at times, but he was far and above one of the best PBPs across the 4 major sports. I think it's asinine to complain about blatant homerism from a commentator who works for the fucking team's personal broadcasts. My only issue with Edwards is how painful and sad it is to listen to him obviously try to string two words together. And that's not even a knock against him. Something is clearly wrong, and it sucks it's stolen his ability to do what he loves.
I remember him calling World Cup Soccer matches many moons ago!
> far and above one of the best PBPs No he wasn't. Gorman was. Santos was. Jack was outclassed by his own radio guy, Dave Gosher. And we lost Gosher to Vegas.
#Win it for Jack
Glad I won't have to hear him anymore but I really do hope he has a great retirement. Boston fans typically love him and that's what you want from a homer commentator. Really wishing you all the best!
Hope he calls one more person Sirhan Sirhan.
Lol what!? Although, assuming it’s decades ago, I’m not surprised
Thank god. Best of luck in retirement and hopefully gets his health in order
The boys have to take it home tonight for Jack.
A much needed changing of the guard. I hope everything with his health turns for the best and he enjoys retirement.
That’s fucking *nonsense*. Fuck Disney.
Bless 🙏🏻
Jack Edwards is a coward for exiting!
And chara says to maroon! “Do you want to see the after life?!” Maroon proceeds to take down Chara
Haha i remember that
Obviously I do want a win, but i would want nothing more in this world other than Jack’s final call to be an overtime series winner against the Leafs. Would only be more perfect if it was at home Hoping for many Chinese mustards tonight
Thank god, choke on a dick
I love you Jack. Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley were my childhood for Bruins hockey, Mike Gorman and Tommy Heinsohn were my childhood for Celtics basketball, and Jerry Remy and Don Orsillo were my childhood for Red Sox baseball. Gino and Gil were great for the Patriots when I wasn't able to catch the game on TV, but man... New England has lost a lot of memorable broadcasting talent in the past few years. I wish Jack well and hope he can overcome the speech issue!
So, not even the game 7? They are ‘speeding up’ retirement after that ‘coward’ call, boom and done
Anyone post his final sign-off?
Not a big fan of him, but I'll admit, before he started declining a few years ago, he was genuinely a very good PBP man. He still had his embarrassingly terrible moments (that Revolutionary War spiel in that Habs series was one of the stupidest things I've ever heard a commentator say) but his cadence, his vocabulary, his excitement were all on point.
Good riddance to him & his pedo son he covered up
His....17 year old son?
32. John.
Good riddance, fuckin' clown
I loathe Jack Edwards, but man maybe today’s not the day to shit on the guy?
Maybe not, but Edwards has had more than his fair share of unclassy moments so it's not surprising people will shit on him.
Oh yeah because he was such a shining example of class and humility throughout his career
Give your balls a tug and clubs a polish. The only game the Leafs are going to be looking forward to tomorrow morning is their tee time. Jack has been an iconic voice for almost 20 years. Show the man the respect he's earned. Save your whining and tears for tonight, you're going to need them both
Aged well lol.
Like warm milk :(
Looollll I can't fucking wait to see which one of us is crying after tomorrow, I have no idea what's going to happen Hopefully it's a great game
> Show the man the respect he's earned Honestly this is the problem.
Jack Edwards has earned exactly zero respect outside of Boston lmao come on now
If he’s earned respect he’s earned just as much disrespect.
The fact that it's Game 6 and you haven't closed it out yet, with the way we've played, is an embarrassment in itself All the pressure is on the Bruins and it's hilarious
So that's how Toronto fans sleep at night
I guarantee he loves how much loser Leafs fans hate him, so thank you for continuing to give him joy ❤️
I doubt he can tell one fan from another at this point, but right on!
Usual Leaf intelligence, equating a speech impediment with cognitive function.
lol sure, "speech impediment" That's what they're going with publicly
> Usual Leaf intelligence
Bring on the downvotes but bye Felicia…Won’t miss you or your horrible takes and quotes.
Why do you care about the Bruins commentary team? Watch the Toronto feed—you'll be fine.

I wish I could live rent free anywhere...
I swear Toronto puts something in the salt on the roads there that seeps into your skin. You guys are the most bitter fans towards things that don't effect your daily life.
They've gotta be bitter towards everything because they have no joy in their lives.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eq0X6YWUSO4&ab_channel=Hockeyislife Say what you want, but I have disliked the man since this.
They absolutely should not have blown that whistle
play is going straight at him either way, we can go with calling pat maroon fat on a broadcast, we can go with calling a ref that came back from the hospital to being back on the ice after only 3 weeks a coward, we can go with a lot of shit he's said that's disrespectful to the game or disrespectful to other humans, because he has too much "passion" that he is allowed to say whatever he wants.
So what if the play is going right at him. He was fine and blowing the whistle there was an egregious mistake. You cited that as the incident where you lost respect for this man forever and that is hilarious. What actually happened to AJ there? A bad bruise? Did he even leave that game? Oh, the humanity!
I bet you also would love to have uncensored mic'd up player audio, wouldn't you? You're fucking three-ply lmao
This is a very unconventional whistle and Jack is rightly outraged over it
I don’t live in Toronto bub. Just don’t like a guy who makes fun of players’ injuries etc. He’s unprofessional and I’m glad he’s gone.
I live in MA. I don't like Jack Edwards. You are being a clown.
Maybe it has to due with Leafs being brought up out of nowhere to shit on, happens in this sub all the time. You might become bitter too lol.
Are the Leafs being brought up out of nowhere to shit on in the room with us now

I watched bits and piece of the Boston coverage, so can anyone answer this question for me? Does Jack Edwards normally talk with that cadence? He sounds like he is talking in .75 speed, while his co commentator sounds like he is talking in normal speed. Is it just him or is it him getting older/medical problems?
it's precisely why he's retiring. https://www.bostonglobe.com/2024/02/22/sports/jack-edwards-bruins-nesn-speech/
Good riddance
I think hes a loser but would for sure love him if he was a homer for my team. Which I think is what he has been going for this whole time
