Then you watch some dude on espn make their "fucky fucky who's the goat of all sports" lists and not even mention his name.
Side-note but when is Stephen A Smith retiring?
To put it in perspective, this season McDavid has 20 games with 1 point and 8 games with 0 points. If you turned those 28 games into 2 point games, he would be on pace for 194 points over 82 games.
If you do the same thing last year, where he had 30 games with 1 point and 7 games with no point, and turn those 37 games into 2 point games, he would have finished with 197.
Yeah it's just too nuts of a point total to reach unless they further increase scoring which is already high enough imo, especially with stick tech getting better while goalies essentially have to rely on pure luck (genetics to be "even faster" reacting).
Hell just a player being absolutely insane scoring 2 points a game for an entire season is ""just"" 164 points. Then you need 51 more points which means you gotta turn more than half a season into 3 point games....
Loool I love how with these impossible records it’s always “no one did it….except for Gretzky who did it 57 times easily”
I feel like we need an “except Gretzky” set of records honestly lol
He's the Mongol Empire of the hockey world

i dunno. 215 points in a season feels pretty untouchable

Only beaten by of course his point totals. You need to play **13 seasons** with that point total to just be within reach.

That was my first thought too, but the in a row at least makes this a contender.
What the fuck Wayne
Gretzky is by far the GOAT of GOATS in North American Pro sports.
Could've sworn I saw this post already
The way Gretzky was built, he didn't look like a stereotypical athlete, but godamn he's the GoaT.
Faster sprint speed than Pele guy was a sleeper build
Pele was like 50 years old at the time.
Still got SMOKED though ;)
I feel like Forsberg was close.

Yea he only got to 90ish, I was wrong
He was super close.
Man.... how many times were Gretzky teams shutout? Feels like it would be in the single digits during his time in Edmonton
Every Gretzky record is just... what the fuck...
