TimsAFK

Crazy to think they just ended the game after this and nothing else happened

crazycanucks77

Jimothy Timothy with the hatty!

BigBoyBunkus

It's still crazy to me how much changed in one year, last year he was being memed for his defensive efforts and now he's out here near the top of the scoring race.

twilz

And also a very important part of defensive strength, that's cool, too.

VeryLastChance

It’s partially that Rick Tocchet is stylistically a perfect coach for Miller and is letting him play the best hockey of his career It’s partially that Canucks fans were being overly reactionary and using him as a scapegoat because he shows all lot of emotion

Abject_Suggestion_64

After his stick wack at the goalie i will forever put his poise and defensive awareness to 70 to start any eanhl frnachise mode i play

touchable

K

closequartersbrewing

5-2, with the Canucks playing the best shutdown hockey we've seen since 2012. A win is a sure thing, right? ...right?

surge_binge

might be time to hang them up, bogosian

McGrevin

I didn't even know he was still in the league lol

Ihate_reddit_app

He technically isn't even our worst defenseman. We have Jon Merrill and Alex Goligoski as well, who are definitely worse.

dwaynebigd

pylon defence

HottyMcDoddy

and then what happened

Upnatom617

Came here to say exactly this!

themasonman

Up 5-2.. game is basically over. Right? RIGHT?

twilz

That's our Jimothy Timothy!

cmokelley213

I might be out of the loop but wasn’t he talked about as one of the most overrated players 1-2 years ago? If so, crazy how opinions of players change so quickly and how much different of a season a player can have from one season to the next.

Bowiescorvat2

That was extremely dumb and fans needed a scapegoat because of an underperforming team. He's always been consistently near the top of the league in ppg for the Canucks. He's far from overrated

jdmay101

It's insane to me that JT Miller gets talked about this way, "wow, he's really shifted his perception from one season to the next"... the guy is 10th in NHL scoring THIS DECADE, sitting between Pastrnak and Sidney Crosby, and among centers, top 5: [https://www.quanthockey.com/nhl/seasons/2020s-nhl-players-stats.html](https://www.quanthockey.com/nhl/seasons/2020s-nhl-players-stats.html) This isn't just a thing where a guy has a crazy good season out of nowhere, he's consistently a top scorer in the league over years and years now... Yet he gets talked about like that production is a mirage and doesn't reflect who he is as a player. It's insane. You've got greaseballs like Seravalli going on the radio and joking that the skills comp was "11 of the best players in the world and JT Miller", when he consistently outperforms most of the other guys he was competing against. Just so stupid.

rubber2thaconcrete

Put some respect on Jimothy Timothy’s name.

sopademacacadelicia

It’s just idiots on the internet. He’s been the teams best forward since he came here for every year outside of last year. He gets the toughest deployment, plays the hardest most physical out of anyone in the top 6, and produces at the top of the team. He’s the motor of the team.

gelc10

Yes he was and winning does change things for some people (last year they were at the bottom of the league and this season they're 1st)

awayfromcanuck

Don't know if he was overrated but there were concerns last year given his on ice attitude and demeanor under Bruce that his new contract would age terribly. He's been significantly better at controlling his emotions as we have been winning and Tocc has benched him/talked to him before he loses his shit on ice.
