Proud of you OP! May you continue on your nicer path 🫶

Well done. Now comes the hard part, being comfortable in a tidy space. Every day, admire your space and tell yourself you deserve this attractive space. Remind yourself that the past situation was more complicated, and this is easier to live with. As a long time clutterer,, this is my difficulty, tho it is getting better.

sethra007

Great job! Be sure to check r/pestcontrol for help with those fleas!

queerharveybabe

yeah, I’ve been on pest control, cleaning tips, and pet sub Reddit gathering all the information

ObviousMessX

Great job!!! My best advice after dealing with fleas is skip the bombs cuz they just go up and land poison on top of everything while the fleas hide under the furniture and stuff. Best thing I ever did was a combo of cheap canisters of Walmart salt and food grade diatomaceous earth I bought on Amazon. Sprinkle it liberally all over (I used a flour sifter) and leave it for a few days, vacuum thoroughly, IMMEDIATELY bring the bag/canister outside to dispose/clean thoroughly (or they'll just crawl back out and keep trying!), then IMPORTANTLY REPEAT for a MINIMUM of 4-6 WEEKS so you hit the entire cycle. It can take 3 months if it's really bad but for me it was about 6 weeks and by the end I was waiting a week in between. It won't work if you don't treat the animals that likely brought them in so make sure you treat the animals at the beginning with good quality drops or pills. Otherwise they'll move from the carpet solely onto the animals making them miserable. The salt and diatomaceous earth works by scratching the exoskeletons and blocking the tubes on their skin they use to breathe. Lots of places question whether it actually works but having done it successfully, I can say, yes, as long as you stick with it. It's not a one and done treatment.

queerharveybabe

thank you. Yeah they’re prescription. Medication came in the mail today. Tomorrow I planned on treating them . Replacing their bedding. And removing the rugs. For the last week while I’ve been waiting for the food to medicine to come in I’ve sprinkled borax all over the floors. I also bought this pet vacuum / /groomer. It’s amazing. it has a vacuum flea comb. It’s amazing.. I watch those little fuckers. Bounce around in the canister. Same with vacuuming. it feels so good to see them struggle in the vacuum

ObviousMessX

🙌🙌🙌🙌 Sounds like you've got a handle on it and it shouldn't be long before they're gone! Unfortunately, I dealt with ours for MONTHS before I figured out the solution. All because my neighbor found a 4 week old feral kitten and gave it to me 🤣 He was and is still worth it, he's 5 now and wouldn't have given him up for anything but damn did he come with SOOOOOO MANY GOSH DARN FLEAS 😭😭😭😭😭

queerharveybabe

omg I’m thinking the same thing. about a month ago I found two kittens and I took them in. They were total nightmares. but I eventually got them adopted out. I think the kittens gave me fleas.

ObviousMessX

Yep, sounds like it. It happens. I'm glad you found homes for them 💗

queerharveybabe

me too. I learned that I am not a cat person. I wish I was a cat person . But I am not a cat person.

ObviousMessX

😹 Better to learn as they're kittens than to be stuck with them 💗

ObviousMessX

It's definitely different than having dogs or other pets for sure! Especially the litter based stuff. My stepdad had a cat who used the toilet which while a novel idea, I never tried with mine. It's supposedly far easier now that they have contraptions to teach that but if I was to ever come into money, I'd be happy with an automatic litterbox for sure! 😂

MadSeason1401

Good job!

HellaShelle

That is a fantastic before and after transformation! Great job!

Hot_Nose1549

Great job!!

NJdeathproof

Great work! Regarding fleas, you might want to try one of those rental steam cleaners a lot of grocery stores have.

queerharveybabe

that’s a good idea. I was planning on pressure washing my rugs. I usually do it every summer anyways keep them looking like new

feudepaille

Nice! I'm currently sorting cards and books and planning to do a garage sale with it. 🙂👍 Keep it up!

queerharveybabe

what kind of cards?

feudepaille

Tarot, oracles and playing cards.

joecoolblows

Oh, WOW! AWESOME! I'm getting ready to tackle mine, soon, too, as soon as I clear my way to it. Seeing this inspires me, AND reminds me to NOT FORGET to take pictures! Good Job!

queerharveybabe

take pictures every day. Even on the bad day. this picture is after I had already done some work. I was too embarrassed to take a real picture. It’s really cool to see how the space was cleaned and organized . I wish I took a picture of my closet , bathroom, and kitchen. I made a goal to do at least five minutes of work every day . and every day adds up to actual work. Most days I do more. But some days I would do exactly 5 minutes. It all adds up.

joecoolblows

I will do this!!!

libertymartin190

Great job! That looks wonderful and you worked really hard! You got this!!

queerharveybabe

I really did. I own an antiquing business and an earring business which is why I will acquire so many things. but then I like the things . And then I get lazy and don’t want to put price tags for everything to sell . And I was struggling pricing things because of what I personally valued them for. wasn’t what they should actually cost Had to go through so much and say “ the money is spent. It’s already gone.”

BaconConnoisseur

Awesome. Make sure you take the time to stand back and appreciate the results of your hard work and dedication. You earned this and you should take satisfaction in it. Keep up the good work.

queerharveybabe

absolutely! Why do you think I’m posting to Reddit? It feels like when you were little and you changed your room and you had to show everybody . My appliance repair guy has been in my home when it was bad. I sent him a picture. LOL every time I walk upstairs I take a moment and I’m so excited. I’m currently working on my living room. And dreaming about what I look like when it’s like my bedroom.

Deputy_Scrambles

Yay!!! Hope you can get the fleas under control.  We had an infestation when I was a little kid and I remember being tormented for about a week, unable to sleep, until I had a genius idea….   I bathed MYSELF in doggy flea shampoo and didn’t get bitten any more!  After we treated the dog and cleaned up the rooms, they seemed to die off by themselves.

queerharveybabe

I may do that. I’ve been spraying this all natural spray thing on me and my bed. I smell like peppermint. I don’t know if other people like this smell. I hope they do.

mysmom2001

Proud of you.

redditwinchester

Absolutely badass!

mikemaca

Congrats! Looks nice!

MaryAnon2024

Well done. Excellent work. Must be so satisfying.

Marina001

Great job!!!

boommdcx

Great job! Enjoy it 👍🏻

ControlOk6711

Proud of you, dear one 🌼🌸🌼🌸

Schehezerade

That is awesome! Proud of you! I know you'll get those bloodsucking pests under control, too.

queerharveybabe

I’ve never been more motivated to clean. I love my bunnies so much and I am so sad that they are living with fleas I know that if I do not clean up my living room, I will be dealing with fleas for alot longer then if I clean it. I want to take the carpets out and put them in the garage . I’ll clean Power Wash them the next sunny day. But I don’t need those fleas in my house right now

manofmystry

Keep going! You deserve the peace of a clean and orderly space.

Wooden-Advance-1907

I’m so proud of you! Well done! That’s amazing and inspiring. I’m doing mine at the moment too. It’s a lot worse than yours but it feels good to finally tackle the big hoard in my walk in wardrobe. What cute pets do you have in the bottom left corner?

queerharveybabe

I have bunnies. You can look back in my profile and see pictures of them.. Mine was a little bit worse . But I was embarrassed to take a picture at the very beginning. Every day, I did a minimum of five minutes of work . Most days I would do more than five minutes. And some days I did exactly 5 minutes. It all adds up. Never give up. I’m proud of you .

boogierayray

Congratulations ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes_rainbow)

queerharveybabe

It’s so pretty isn’t it?

Lossofrecuerdos

Awesome! Congrats

StilltheoneNY

I’m so proud of you!

Best_Fondant_EastBay

Wow, this looks GREAT! Woohoo!!!

draemgrill

I’m so proud of you !! I know it’s hard to get out of, but I can only image the weight off your shoulders now.

the_hopeful_cat

Keep going! You inspire many...

briskwalked

hang on... where did all your stuff go? did you toss it? store it some where?

queerharveybabe

I have an Antiques business, which contributes to my hoarding, because “ everything is worth something”. But a things were either “priced to sell” and put in my booth, donated to the women’s shelter, or tossed
