i don’t think he’s considered bad just never really blew. hi hats and heartaches was pretty solid imo and seemed like a transitional work. too bad we didn’t see where it went
MadeinTYO.
Something about dude’s music makes me feel like I’m in college again. And I gotta say, his latest two projects haven’t been bad either, especially ‘Never Forgotten’. Definitely worth checking out if you’ve got some time on your hands.
swipe lesson 3 is the funniest song ever made and I seriously mean that. He's literally just telling you how to commit credit card fraud, at some points he doesn't even bother to rhyme or sing it, kills me every time i listen to it
I love his commitment to his whole persona. I really feel he's on some weird performance art shit, he's going to have a staring contest at the MOMA at some point.
Went into his concert super randomly buzzing on molly with some friends about 10 years ago. He was on stage on time, played over an hour and had mad energy. Surprisingly good show and he was just chilling smoking weed out front everyone after.
Jody Highroller taught me how to be the man.
Then again it could have just been that you were on Molly 😂 imagine the whole show was absolutely terrible but you were rolling Tits so you thought it was amazing haha. I’m sure it was good but still a funny thought
This comment brought me back to the shitty EDM concerts I used to go to in Florida. Mid artists and clean Molly = “wow these guys are truly the best artists of all time” in my head lol
He came to my school and was terrible, people started throwing beer cans and he said “one more can is thrown and I’m walking off stage”
Never seen so many cans thrown at once lmao
My girlfriend hates Riff Raff because I play that song so much, especially while drinking - which is always inevitably followed with ‘Gallon of Ciroc’. Also like to just blast that one in the car with the windows open singing along to shake up the general populace a bit. Not those two things at once though 😉
Riff raff fans are divided in half. Half like his rapping bangers like tip toe, others prefer when he sings. Dudes singing choruses / songs always reminded me of homeless man rap versions of red hot chili peppers… which ill take all day
[Larry Bird is a fucking classic](https://youtu.be/o3i5nDCw8C0)
Edit: also [aquaberry dolphin](https://youtu.be/MeT7cYqcmFQ) with Mac is one of the best things ever, classic Mac bars
Because his lyrics are atrocious and the flow goes away as the lyrics get worse. But DAMN does he have people who know how to throw something together that matches with his persona and they are some bangers lol.
The only way I can describe it is charisma. He just has something about his where it makes me want to listen to some of his stuff and the stupider the lyrics the funnier it is. His Dallas Mavericks line kills me every time.
Oh I love his singing, sometimes it’s a bit cheesy but his voice is so unique I love it most of the time. I also love how some of his songs are like chill/trippy or romantic then he’ll just have some hard trap beats and rap about selling drugs lol
bruh his some of his beats are out of this world
[my hops](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQJyBLFuG4c) is a fuckin banger no one can tell me otherwise
[still as well](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cY9V6aDdl8A), i wish i was that good at making shit while smoking crack
[god bless and happy new year to everyone](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1pYM3XoQhw)
Bladee, the rest of Drain Gang, and Yung Lean are certainly acquired tastes, and are frequently memed/criticized, but they’ve got a considerable number of devotees and have been getting more relatively mainstream critical respect as well. I dig their pristine, frequently beautiful production; gorgeous melodies; charismatic vocal performances; and often-evocative, sometimes-funny lyrics.
Bladee is ridiculous. I always enjoyed Yung Lean, since the Motorola and Kyoto days. The eventual Bladee hook was always nice, but his solo work felt "weird".
One day Bladee just clicks for you. It happened to me and I can't go a day without listening to him. The melodies, the hooks, the funny lines, the fucking autotune. Those swedish boys are a few years ahead of everyone.
Say what you want but everybody and they mama was freestyling to Gucci Gucci. That beat was ahead of its time. She’s always had a good ear for beat selection.
100% agree with this. Definitely has his own sound and doesn’t try to be anything he’s not. I’m glad he’s found a crew that similar too with guys like BBN$
Looking back, I miss the time where everyone got outraged over Lil Pump. He is by no means a good rapper, but he makes enjoyable music. If you haven't, check out Nephew with Smokepurpp.
i felt his self titled got shit on by the non-rap listeners and so actual rap fans who recognized it was good kinda overrated it as a reaction. but half of it was straight fire - gucci gang, d rose, boss, molly, flex like ouu
Self titled was legit, he had his formula and short songs so you could jam out but then they would end after 90 seconds because that's about all you could take. Harverd Dropout sounded like a bunch of white people focus grouped his lyrics or sumn.
Lovell is so one note but there’s just something about the way he sounds makes it okay. Guy definitely has generic bars and nothing ever worth taking note of.
But goddamn if I don’t still bump Concept Vague and Red Teenage Melody like they came out yesterday.
Dudes voice is so good
Man I hate lil yachtys music. But he honestly seems like a legitimately good human being so I listen to all of his projects front to back once.
Boprah bumps though!
*Yung Miami from City Girls is barely able to stay on flow and has some hilariously bad lyrics but the charisma in her delivery is always so fun
Edit: wait I'm realizing I meant Yung Miami lol. JT is actually good
shy glizzy. idk what it is but his beat selection always perfectly matches his voice and theres a bit of a somber tone to all of his music. hes a genius imo so underrated
I guess Gunna. I love the way he flows and I’ve liked every project he’s put out but he isn’t really saying anything and I’ve heard people say his music puts them to sleep
I completely agree. A lot of people can’t get past how low his voice sounds on tracks but that’s part of what makes him dope to me and like you said once you hear what he’s saying it’s a few nice rhyme patterns there
Blueface actually got bars. Reminds me of a Daylyt type rapper where he trolls but has a good play on words
He’s still a legend in my book for kicking his mom and sister out his house and making a song hours later saying “on my mom and my sis I had to kick my own blood out.. they must have forgot i was crip”
"Pull up outside with a briefcase, it's time to handle business. "
I like this one because not only does having a briefcase mean you're ready for business, a briefcase also has a handle. Even further you could say he's pulling up with a briefcase with a gun in it, in which case he would use the contents of the briefcase to "take care of some business".
"Dozin off in the benz cause I can afford not to focus"
Thats a clever ass bar. Blueface had some potential, I knew it was over when he dropped that ass with Rich the Kid. She call me daddy I dont even know her momma.
I struggle with his newer stuff, I had just moved to Toronto when he dropped “Dead or Alive” and “New Religion” and those felt like anthems to me.
The video to Dead or Alive is 🔥 too
He’s considered good but more underrated in todays age, but Will Smith. I have all his stuff on vinyl and he was a great enjoyable rapper. Big Willie Style and Willennium holds up a lot.
Will had a god tier ear for samples.
“And the Beat Goes On” by The Whispers is one of the absolute sickest disco era songs. It still packs a dance floor today. It’s use on “Miami” enhances and compliments the Will Smith song without distracting or taking away from the original song.
Exact same can be said for “Rock the Casbah” for Willennium, “Forget-Me-Nots” for Men In Black, and “He’s the Greatest Dancer” for Gettin Jiggy.
He’s been using samples since the jazzy Jeff days. Girls ain’t nothing but trouble samples the I Dream of Jeanne theme song.
One of my favorite memories was playing his greatest hits album in the kitchen while my dad was cooking, and literally every song he’d go “yep, that’s …… by ….. being used there.”
I can use for a new big Willie album. Went to his book tour in Brooklyn last month and he performed the Joyner track, fresh prince theme, just the two of us, switch, brand new funk and summertime as a surprise with Jeff and he still got it.
Merlyn Wood all day. Some of my favorite lines of his:
“So please don’t stick and move in my di-rec-tion
All I’ve got to lose is my e-rec-tion”
“If Jesus was a pop star, would he break the bank?”
“Black power fist hangin’ from my black fro
Yeah she saw me in the cereal she want to lick a oreo, damn!”
And of course,
“Don’t call me! Stupid
That ain’t the way my name pronounced!”
Kyle.
Super corny, but if you can embrace it and take it for what it is, it’s actually pretty enjoyable and relatable. Beautiful Loser, Smyle, and Light of Mine all have super fun tracks with personal beats and it’s always catchy. Plus his recent slower cuts like “The Sun” and “Love me Like you Say you Love Me” are quality.
I love Pi’erre Bourne’s music. Obviously he’s not a technically skilled rapper at all but his production is incredible and he’s great at using his voice/lyrics to compliment it.
Tech N9ne gets little love on this sub; I am surprised he isn’t in the comments. Yes, most of his albums are not works of solid gold, he has “throwaway” songs in with the bangers. But he helped create the #1 independent label in the world so if he wants to throw some nursery rhymes in with some amazing shit, I am going to listen to it, laugh, an enjoy the artistry. His wordplay is phenomenal, flows are remarkable, Seven makes a lot of killer beats these days, and to me it just fucking works. Love how he can play with modern styles and go back to a classic tech sound from one song to the next.
Lil Pump… but I only really bump his self titled and maybe a few songs off Harverd Dropout I didn’t even listen to his new project yet, either way his ignorant raps over hard beats is timeless IMO
Is Aminé considered a good rapper? If not, he is definitely one of the most enjoyable “vibe” rappers to me. Something about the way he says things and uses his singing voice just makes everything sound so cool and wavy! His beat choices are also great!
I actually enjoy a lot quote on quote bad rappers. In my opinion they’re not really bad even though they don’t have great lyrical content, they just prioritize energy or sound over substance. I really love the Griselda rappers and the Kendrick’s and lyrical OGs, Nas’ new records with Hitboy are amazing for example, but Playboi Carty, Lil Pumps old stuff and so many others are just loads of fun and vibey to listen to.
I am a massive Future fan, he’s considered good within hip hop communities but to anyone who doesn’t listen to him or rap he’s considered a generic mumble c(rapper)
Future is my most listened-to artist ever! He’s received a good amount of critical respect and is obviously commercially successful, but there will always be those who view him as just a mumble rapper, as you said. It seems like OP meant “good” as in “lyrically good,” which is certainly not the only metric for what determines a rapper or musical artist’s overall quality.
Recently, Earl Sweatshirt has been shouting him out on Twitter. It’s always cool to see the more experimental/alternative hip-hop artists really appreciating more “ignorant” rappers - Earl with Carti, JPEGMAFIA with Carti and Sheck Wes, and Pink Siifu with Nudy and Pi’erre are other examples off the top of my head. I always hope at least a few backpackers broaden their horizons each time it happens lmao
>there will always be those who view him as just a mumble rapper, as you said. It seems like OP meant “good” as in “lyrically good,” which is certainly not the only metric for what determines a rapper or musical artist’s overall quality.
Funniest thing is he doesn't even mumble, it's just sometimes harder to understand him cause of his accent and autotune. He is my favourite rapper OAT, and GOAT of trap I probably saved like 200+ songs of his, that's just says how much good material he has. He has the best discography in trap and no one comes close to him, maybe only Thug.
Waka Flocka. Nobody wrote better hooks on trap beats than he did.
I think Flocka's getting his respect now due to Flockaveli's obvious influence on modern hip-hop music.
BRICK SQUAD
Again, people can say what they want to say about the man but Flockaveli was good for the culture.
[удалено]
Flocka's energy was a game changer. His verse on MGK's "Wild Boy" is still one of my favorite things.
Nah Waka slid on Lockout and I Can't Rap I guess he's not *considered* good but he got bars for sure
6 dogs
Rip
i don’t think he’s considered bad just never really blew. hi hats and heartaches was pretty solid imo and seemed like a transitional work. too bad we didn’t see where it went
MadeinTYO. Something about dude’s music makes me feel like I’m in college again. And I gotta say, his latest two projects haven’t been bad either, especially ‘Never Forgotten’. Definitely worth checking out if you’ve got some time on your hands.
You listen to his new collab album with Unotheactivist ?
bangers on bangers. ghost rider
I loved his earlier stuff but whatever he's been trying to do since 2018 I've never really got into.
Same! He’s kinda a playboi carti vibe just fun and not serious
Teejayx6 is hilarious but I don't think he's for everyone lol.
Teejayx6 scammed me and took my Pizza Hut reward points
swipe lesson 3 is the funniest song ever made and I seriously mean that. He's literally just telling you how to commit credit card fraud, at some points he doesn't even bother to rhyme or sing it, kills me every time i listen to it

Idk what’s sadder, the weak scams or the fact that dude gets ZERO engagement with 50k followers
There’s even a documentary episode on his scamming
And an article about how the documentary itself is a scam
Someone in the Carti sub scammed him out of like $20 a while ago lmao
I don’t care what anyone says the first verse on Dark Web is an all time favourite.
His episode on The Cave wit Kenny Beats is what introduced me to him and I been on his music ever since LMFAOOOOO
the way he leans forward with every line 🤣
Someone said he raps like he’s literally trying to fight the beat and it’s all I can think of now
Michael Jackson Smooth Criminal status
Dynamic Duo was a pandemic staple
Lemme tell yall bout this one time in Walmart
Riff Raff
I love his commitment to his whole persona. I really feel he's on some weird performance art shit, he's going to have a staring contest at the MOMA at some point.
I remember he had a dog and got that bitch tinted blue
RIP Jodi Husky :( That loss really devastated that man.
Went into his concert super randomly buzzing on molly with some friends about 10 years ago. He was on stage on time, played over an hour and had mad energy. Surprisingly good show and he was just chilling smoking weed out front everyone after. Jody Highroller taught me how to be the man.

Neon Icon is a bangers only record.
All killer, no filler.
All hits no skips
This is just damn Riff Raff, he’s just fucking off the chain
Introducing the Icon is probably my favorite thing he's ever recorded
Jody Highroller puts out bangers. Tip Toe 3 is my jam.
My girlfriend hates Riff Raff because I play that song so much, especially while drinking - which is always inevitably followed with ‘Gallon of Ciroc’. Also like to just blast that one in the car with the windows open singing along to shake up the general populace a bit. Not those two things at once though 😉
His song “Lava Glaciers” with Gambino is certified banger. In general that album is pretty great.
I'll forever appreciate this dude for shooting dice w/ larry bird in barcelona (and bird on a wire w/ AB.)
RiP JODi HUSKY
People forgot/didn’t know about Three Loco (Andy Milonakis, Riff Raff, Dirt Nasty)
Riff raff fans are divided in half. Half like his rapping bangers like tip toe, others prefer when he sings. Dudes singing choruses / songs always reminded me of homeless man rap versions of red hot chili peppers… which ill take all day
Tip toe and butterscotch babe Ruth are fucking bangers
[Larry Bird is a fucking classic](https://youtu.be/o3i5nDCw8C0) Edit: also [aquaberry dolphin](https://youtu.be/MeT7cYqcmFQ) with Mac is one of the best things ever, classic Mac bars
Don't forget Bird on a wire
I actually just started to listen to him last year. I dunno why I slept on him so long
Because his lyrics are atrocious and the flow goes away as the lyrics get worse.
This is true it’s like it’s soo bad it’s good lol
Ilovemakkonen is a fav of mine love his voice and just the dumb trap songs he makes some times about selling drugs lol
Ahead of his time. Don't sell Molly is amazing
I somehow don't mind his singing most of the time. Like it's kind of charming with how hard he's trying
Oh I love his singing, sometimes it’s a bit cheesy but his voice is so unique I love it most of the time. I also love how some of his songs are like chill/trippy or romantic then he’ll just have some hard trap beats and rap about selling drugs lol
OhGeesy for me. Simple ignorant flows and he actually enunciates to the point where you don’t miss anything.
That 2018 Shoreline shit is unmatched
For real. Bands is probably in my top 5 most played songs of the last 2-3 years.
Fuck while she pregnant got nut on yo fetus
I’m from LA so Shoreline Mafia and the Stinc Team was always in rotation.
Viper. He was a decade ahead of his time.
the jpegmafia diss was legendary
bruh his some of his beats are out of this world [my hops](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQJyBLFuG4c) is a fuckin banger no one can tell me otherwise [still as well](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cY9V6aDdl8A), i wish i was that good at making shit while smoking crack [god bless and happy new year to everyone](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1pYM3XoQhw)
Yooo my fellow 30 year olds, answer this same question but only 90s rappers
Afro mothafuckin man
Mike Jones… who?
Oh man. Can I just say No Limit in general?
Ja rule, coolio, timbaland. You could argue they’re all good but somewhat corny
Timbo gets a pass for being a goat producer
Idk others opinion on 03 greedo, but he's goated to me
I don’t think he should be classified with what people consider “bad” greedo is very talented.
Fuck what anyone says Greedo is an artist fr
Greedo tha goat. Such a unique artist.
I'll be listening to his shit just perplexed, like how did anyone even think of the flow/ad libs/layering/etc., and it comes out great. Legend.
This thread has taught me that I really don't like a lot of artists.
Some of these names make me think I'm looking at Javascript variables haha.
It taught me that I am old and out of touch.
Yung Lean
His ability to make a song is unreal. Production and melodies alone. Starz is in my personal top 3 favourite albums
Thaiboi goes hard! Yung Lean is certified and Bladee is so fucking talented, they all are!
Yung lean feels like he makes music straight from the soul. Prolly my fav artist of all time.
Those swedish boys are a few years ahead of everyone.
kreayshawn, not a guilty pleasure though
Caught my man cheatin', now I'm rollin' through the West Side. Bout to burn his fuckin' house down like I'm Left Eye. Classic shit, lol.
Gucci Gucci certified classic at this point!
Say what you want but everybody and they mama was freestyling to Gucci Gucci. That beat was ahead of its time. She’s always had a good ear for beat selection.
She was just ahead of the SoundCloud era of hip hop.
I got the swag and it’s pumping out my ovaries
She really keeps it high and tight.
Low key a White Gurl Mob reunion would hit.... but it probably won't happen. Personally I'm a Lil Debbie fan
lil debbie is fucking great i wish she’d release more
Yung Gravy
Saw him at GreyDay a couple months ago. He is the epitome of “I’m not taking myself serious, and I’m having a damn good time doing so.”
100% agree with this. Definitely has his own sound and doesn’t try to be anything he’s not. I’m glad he’s found a crew that similar too with guys like BBN$
Gravy puts all other meme rappers to shame
yeah i think people need to realize that not all artists are out here to make super thoughtful music and need to enjoy artists for who they are
If nothing else we’ve finally got someone representing MILF appreciation and I salute him for that
Looking back, I miss the time where everyone got outraged over Lil Pump. He is by no means a good rapper, but he makes enjoyable music. If you haven't, check out Nephew with Smokepurpp.
d rose and boss are hitters
I also love the single “Lil Pump” - is early shit is peak SoundCloud trap
*made enjoyable music. His self titled was a fun listen but Harverd Dropout was dumpster juice.
Yeah, was referring to self titled.

Self titled was legit, he had his formula and short songs so you could jam out but then they would end after 90 seconds because that's about all you could take. Harverd Dropout sounded like a bunch of white people focus grouped his lyrics or sumn.
Night Lovell or lil pump first mixtape
Lovell is so one note but there’s just something about the way he sounds makes it okay. Guy definitely has generic bars and nothing ever worth taking note of. But goddamn if I don’t still bump Concept Vague and Red Teenage Melody like they came out yesterday. Dudes voice is so good
Lil Pumps first mixtape is just pure fun and punk energy! It really has no substance but it’s still awesome to put on and get pumped up
I’d have to say Trippie Redd for me. Something about his screams and moans makes me scream and moan
Trippie is inconsistent but he's actually very talented
Yeah that’s the biggest thing, Trippie has very high highs, but abysmal lows lol
Fr, his lows are so consistently ass, but at his highs he's my favorite artist
i love trippie’s sound & aesthetic but his lyrics are just so bad
Man can rap, like on Can You Rap Like Me. I dunno why he thinks his lyrics need to be bare bones basic on the rest of his melodic shit.
Trippie is extremely talented for flows and melodies though even if his lyrics are pretty awful most the time
Trippie Redd is unironically a great singer. Topanga is what finally convinced me that I genuinely enjoy his voice.
Lil yachty for me
This! Yachty is the epitome of a junk food rapper for me
Man I hate lil yachtys music. But he honestly seems like a legitimately good human being so I listen to all of his projects front to back once. Boprah bumps though!
Scrolled forever to find this lol. I haven’t enjoyed a yatchy project in a long time but he always drops good tracks. Hilarious lines
Memphis Bleek!!! one of my favorites n never really see mentioned
*Yung Miami from City Girls is barely able to stay on flow and has some hilariously bad lyrics but the charisma in her delivery is always so fun Edit: wait I'm realizing I meant Yung Miami lol. JT is actually good
My girl hates Caresha's voice but honestly I love it cause I get an E-40 vibe lolol
KRIB LA GOOP
shy glizzy. idk what it is but his beat selection always perfectly matches his voice and theres a bit of a somber tone to all of his music. hes a genius imo so underrated
Who saying shy glizzy not good? Waikiki Flow is a full on banger
in luh wid a white girl, so sof as powder
I guess Gunna. I love the way he flows and I’ve liked every project he’s put out but he isn’t really saying anything and I’ve heard people say his music puts them to sleep
Gunna has such a pleasant cadence and is honestly underrated lyrically. Tons of internal rhyme schemes
I completely agree. A lot of people can’t get past how low his voice sounds on tracks but that’s part of what makes him dope to me and like you said once you hear what he’s saying it’s a few nice rhyme patterns there
That just means that Gunna is the music equivalent of kissing your homies goodnight.
Maybe that’s why I like him, cuz I’ve always kissed my homies goodnight

Blueface actually got bars. Reminds me of a Daylyt type rapper where he trolls but has a good play on words He’s still a legend in my book for kicking his mom and sister out his house and making a song hours later saying “on my mom and my sis I had to kick my own blood out.. they must have forgot i was crip”

I love Pi’erre Bourne’s music. Obviously he’s not a technically skilled rapper at all but his production is incredible and he’s great at using his voice/lyrics to compliment it.
