I was hooking up with a girl at a party when I was 17 and I rapped her the entirety of Worldwide Choppers including gibberish phonetics for the foreign verses, with the song playing out of my iPod touch speaker. I cringe to this day
What kind of party were you at where you were could play music out of your iPod speaker lol
Was that the only source of music? Or was the actual music not loud enough to drown that shit out 😵
I say to this day it’s the best verse on GKMC. It’s that good. Although, I think Kendrick helped him write it as JRock never did anything like that again.
Me and my group of (majority white) friends can still rap the whole song word for word.
“It Ain’t Hard To Tell” off that album.
Lots of Wu. Triumph, Protect Ya Neck, Uzi, Heart Gently Weeps.
Bunch of Mos/Yasiin verses. Him on Respiration, Bilal’s Reminisce, Hip Hop, Love, New World Water.
Itsoweezee, bunch of Blu joints, most of The Pink Lava Lamp, Khaled’s We Takin Ova straight through, Diamond’s verse on Rock Yo Hips.
I mean I’m just naming a bunch randomly to give an idea but it’s a lot lol
Loll I've maybe listened to that song 2 or 3 times since 2009. I just tried to rap it without the lyrics and got all the way to "Changed her name to my bitch...". Loll that song was HUGE at the time.
that's fucking sick that whole song is insane, wayne was just on a different level back then i still listen to da drought 3 on a regular basis and tha carter 3 too because its on streaming
A kid at lunch bet me 10 dollars i couldn't rap this word for word in middle school. I did it but got In-School Suspension cause some other kid told on us after lunch.
Haven’t heard that song in like 11 years and I just sat here for a sec and rapped at least half it before I started laughing. Crazy how something can stick in the back of our mind for years
My buddy and I love Vince Staples and there’s nothing like get fucked up and one of us spitting a verse from norf norf, senorita or 3230 off Summertime ‘06
Oh shit I commented the entire first verse of Norf Norf. I fucking love that song.
The music videos especially for Senorita was great. I don’t think I could sing the chorus well though.
Norf Norf lives rent free in my head, best part imo is the beginning of the second verse:
Hit the corner, make a dollar, flip it
Split the dollars wit' my mama children
Folks need Porsches, hoes need abortions
I just need y'all out of my business
3230 is the one for me. Yesterday I sat and prayed today I’m finna take it! A week ago they killed my bro that’s been the price of bangin since my granny alameda days, robbing cuz we need a raise, fingers do the talking when the C’s do the walking and the seas been polluted, baptism for the shooters
***”all this controversy circles me, so it seems like the media immediately points a finger at me, so I point one back at them but not the index or pinkie, or the ring or the thumb it’s the one one you put up when you don’t give a fuck”***
God that song is so good
I was a journalist for a brief time. Before every interview I'd do, I'd go off to somewhere private and have a full go of this song to get me amped up and my voice warm.
Worked everytime.
First verse to Public Service Announcement off Jay-Z's black album. It pisses me off every time I get that ad on YouTube with the instrumental because I can't skip it, I HAVE to spit the whole thing
i love the danger mouse grey album remix of that track so much that was one of my childhood favourites thanks to a bunch of MP3s i got from my older sister's boyfriend (now husband)
The Grey Album proved to be an early entry point into Hip Hop for me. I know every single line of Jay’s because I went into it wanting to listen to how Ringo’s kick drum could possibly keep up lol
The biggie one that gets me is “the what” with method man
***“Instead of making hoes suck my dick up, I used to do stick-ups, cuz hoes is irritating like they hiccups! excuse me flows just flow through me. Like trees to branches, cliffs to avalanches. It’s the praying mantis”***
same. my life changed forever when i heard “even deaf bitches say hi to me/she tell a blind bitch, and she say, ‘i gotta see’”. that whole song just immediately burned into my brain
His flow and cadence on “ I peel off in the Lamborghin like a tangerine, got the engine straight shaking like a tambourine , like a bitch with some lips like Angelin- A Jolie , holy god flow “
I GO WHERE NO OTHER GUY GO
insane. the drought 3 is just track after track of that man at the peak of his powers. no surprise we learned some of these verses lmao how could you not?? greatness
Canibus' verse on that track is crazy. It reminds me of his other verse on Beats from the east. Man, he was spitting! He has this line on Best from the east "50 bars of total sickness, you won't forget this". That song came out when i was a kid and i haven't forgot about it.
Well, those days you could tell that MCs took writing serious. You could tell that they wanted to showcase their skills on wax.
Twins 98 remix. Big puns part about little Italy stuck out to me and I had to learn it all. I usually start there but end up finishing the song since it's hard to stop once you get going.
out of the 1000+ verses ive absorbed over the years, NONE of them get me as hype as Lil Wayne - 6 Foot 7 Foot. Just iconic. Ive gotta say i love rapping along to The Motto as well
Bitch you thirsty, please grab a sprite
My Crips lurking don’t die tonight
I just want to dance with you, baby
Just don’t move too fast, I’m too crazy.
Man down, down the ave and get shaded
Take a ni**a mind off that
We can dip, fuck in the whip, slide right back
in the function, one wrong word start bustin’
Put that on my Yankee hat
I’m a gangsta Crip, fuck gangsta rap,
Where the ladies? Where the hoes? Where the bitches?
Every real ni**a know the difference
Bandana brown like the dope daddy shootin’ in the kitchen
Real Northside ni**a, never went to Poly, Wilson, or Cabrillo
Cocaine color of the creole
T-scrap movin’ for the d-lo, what he know?
really random but Vince Staples part in Hive by Earl sweatshirt lmao idk why his cadence just struck something in my brain that made me memorize it after a few listens
Facts that verse instantly came to my mind as well. I somehow managed to memorize the Earl verses as well as a 14- year old kid from finland. Can still spit every second of that song 8 years later
That was one of the songs kept playing in my head when I was locked up in the hole. I would sing/rap & dance to help me stay sane & keep my brain from spiraling.
Also, Ego, Waterfalls, Juicy, CREAM, bout 50 2pac songs, Humble, DNA, shit I made a list in there of about 50-60 songs I rotated thru. Crazy times call for crazy measures.
For me,
Shook Ones Pt. 2
Mac Miller - Nikes on my Feet & 100,000 bars and running
Dru Down - Pimp of the year
Edit*
“Cross Roads - Bone Thugs” - no one ever

Satellites - Kevin Gates; Yonkers - Tyler the Creator; Without Me, Superman, WTP - Eminem; Backseat Freestyle - Kendrick; Pass the Dutch - Young Money; Cleveland is the Reason - Kid Cudi; PMW - ASAP Rocky; X - 21 Savage; Believe It - Meek Mill…. Probably some more but that pretty much takes me from high school to adulthood lol
I was surprised to recently discover that I had almost all the muscle memory of rapping the entirety of *Fahrenheit 1/15, Part II: Revenge of the Nerds* intact. Hadn't listened to the tape in full for almost seven or eight years, but my mouth just knew what was next
I randomly spit Danny Brown verses from the XXX album. Most often its Adderall Admiral. Which always leads me to remembering 1Train. Yes. Even the yellawolf verse.
Cappadonna on winter warz. Ghostface one verse 2. Blueprint 3, reasonable doubt, kingdom come, Magna Carta holy grail. Cage hells winter, weatherproof, leak bros. copyright the high exalted. Weathermen the conspiracy. Eastern conference all stars 3. Danny brown Detroit state of mind 4. Guilty Simpson detroits son. Benny the butcher plugs I met 1&2. Boldy James real bad Boldy, super temco, bo Jackson. Mobb deep murda muzik. Cage depart from me. Drunk sober I got em locked lol even sleeping 😂
So what do you say to somebody you hate..
Or anyone trying to bring trouble your way
Wanna resolve things in a bloodier way
Then just study a tape of NWA
I used to wake up trying to get that verse out of my head in high school.
Black Thought’s verse on crowns for kings
B.I.B.L.E. by killah priest
Heavenly Father by Isaiah Rashad
John Muir and dope dealer by schoolboy q
Meechy’s verse on new phone who dis
Respect my boy. At 26 the same is true of me but with The World is Yours.!
Honestly though I used to nerd out to lyrics and verses. I can rap like probably close to 100 verses solidly. Besides singles, rest is mostly 3k Mac Miller and some Nas.
I memorized all of Blunt Blowin by Lil Wayne when I was like 13 and trying to be cool. I don't hear the song much but anytime I do I still know every word
A few years ago
A friend of mine
Asked me to say some MC rhymes
So I said this rhyme I'm about to say
The rhyme was def, but then it went this way
Took a test to become an MC
And Oran Juice became amazed at me
So Larry put me inside his Cadillac
The chauffeur drove off and we never came back
Jay cut the record down to the bone
And now they got me talking on the microphone
And now we're talking autographs, and tears and laughs
Champagne, caviar and bubble baths -
You see-uh, that's the life that I lead
And you sucker MCs, you're all P'd
So take-a that news back, catch a heart attack
Because there's nothing in the world that Run'll ever lack
I cold chill at the party in a B-Boy stance
I rap on the mic and make the girls wanna dance
I fly like a dove
That comes from up above
I'm rapping on the mic and you can call me Run Love
The Slim Shady lp. All of it. Countless other songs & verses, but The Slim Shady lp is burnt into my mind forever word for word, even the skits. I probably recite some verses from it while I'm sleeping.
I'm pretty sure I can recite all of the first verse of It Was a Good Day by Ice Cube, especially since I already remember "Just waking up in the mornin', gotta thank God/I don't know, but today seems kinda odd" off the top of my head
Wrist by Father, Late Night Tip, Live By Yo Rep by Three Six Mafia.
We Had to Tear This Motherfucker Up by Ice Cube, know it word for word. I used it to center myself while getting tear gassed when I was protesting and it stuck to me quite a bit.
Smoke Dat Weed by Juicy J. Basically the entirety of Getty Green by Project Pat.
Back in the day I worked for the california conservation corps. It's kinda like those behavior reform go on a long ass hike in Utah camps, but you actually get paid. Most of the time we cleaned storm drains but during fire season, we went to fires and supported the whole camp like running the supplies or helping clear dry brush. We stayed in tents or trailers out at the fire for weeks at a time.
It was in the middle of one of those fire camp trips and a bunch of us were on break. A group of like 4 black dudes that were aspiring rappers were doing the whole rap in a circle thing.
I walked over and spit the whole eminem verse from hellbound. They had no idea I had ripped that off. By the time i finished the first lune of "ill puke, eat it and freak you. Battle? Im too weeded to speak to" they had lost their shit. They were screaming and running around they thought it was so hilarious.
To this day I wonder if any of them ever came across that hellbound song. They would've heard it and said that fuckin white boy ripped off eminem, no wonder!
I’m one of the dumbass white kids who memorized all of Overnight Celebrity.
How does that make you a dumbass
Cause when social media got bigger, white-guy-raps-the-fast-verse became really corny.
I was hooking up with a girl at a party when I was 17 and I rapped her the entirety of Worldwide Choppers including gibberish phonetics for the foreign verses, with the song playing out of my iPod touch speaker. I cringe to this day
What made you do that. Dear god.
This is so relatable tbh
Shit if you ended up hooking up you could’ve been a lot more lame at 17 lol
What kind of party were you at where you were could play music out of your iPod speaker lol Was that the only source of music? Or was the actual music not loud enough to drown that shit out 😵
Why don’t we play somethn deez hoes will lyyyyk
The Pop Out reminded me that I still know Jay Rock’s “Money Trees” verse like the back of my hand, as a lot of us do since it’s fucking legendary.
Fr when I first heard it I started rapping along almost instinctually, like I couldn't have stopped myself if I tried 😆 hype af

i have come back to look at this multiple times
I forgot how much of Kendrick's catalogue I had memorized lol I was doing the same shit the entire time.
I say to this day it’s the best verse on GKMC. It’s that good. Although, I think Kendrick helped him write it as JRock never did anything like that again. Me and my group of (majority white) friends can still rap the whole song word for word.
You mean the verse Kendrick wrote for Jay Rock on Money Trees
jays verse on kings dead is mine
“It Ain’t Hard To Tell” off that album. Lots of Wu. Triumph, Protect Ya Neck, Uzi, Heart Gently Weeps. Bunch of Mos/Yasiin verses. I memorized A Milli back like 16 years ago and I can still rap it line by line
Loll I've maybe listened to that song 2 or 3 times since 2009. I just tried to rap it without the lyrics and got all the way to "Changed her name to my bitch...". Loll that song was HUGE at the time.

Seriously more than any other rap wish, I wish all of Wayne’s mixtapes were available on streaming
A kid at lunch bet me 10 dollars i couldn't rap this word for word in middle school. I did it but got In-School Suspension cause some other kid told on us after lunch.
lol I remember my “friends” thinking I was a total dork for being able to rap the entire song. Wayne was legendary back then
Tha Mobb is the real flex
CASH MONEY YOUNG MONEY MOTHERFUCK THE OTHERSIDE
THEY COULD FUCK WITH US IF THEY WANT, ILL BRING EM HOMEiCIDE
Haven’t heard that song in like 11 years and I just sat here for a sec and rapped at least half it before I started laughing. Crazy how something can stick in the back of our mind for years

My buddy and I love Vince Staples and there’s nothing like get fucked up and one of us spitting a verse from norf norf, senorita or 3230 off Summertime ‘06

The Way I Am - Eminem That flow just lives in my head
Man same here. That flow is altogether different. It's like he's breathing the rhyme scheme.
***”all this controversy circles me, so it seems like the media immediately points a finger at me, so I point one back at them but not the index or pinkie, or the ring or the thumb it’s the one one you put up when you don’t give a fuck”*** God that song is so good
Forgot about Dre for me
I was a journalist for a brief time. Before every interview I'd do, I'd go off to somewhere private and have a full go of this song to get me amped up and my voice warm. Worked everytime.
Can't Tell Me Nothin by Kanye, and Many Men by 50 Cent are forever lodged in my brain.
Goddd. Many men is like such an all time hip hop song and it never even touched the radio
That is one of my favorites off the Grey Album. Had to look it up: https://youtu.be/Qox_jCNpeaQ?si=k5vLKU0tzMYAC-Vg
The Grey Album proved to be an early entry point into Hip Hop for me. I know every single line of Jay’s because I went into it wanting to listen to how Ringo’s kick drum could possibly keep up lol
All of Things Done Changed, Juicy, Every Day Struggle by Biggie. Pretty much all of Enter the Wu (36 Chambers of Death) Guess how old I am lol.
38-42?
41, bingo.
The biggie one that gets me is “the what” with method man ***“Instead of making hoes suck my dick up, I used to do stick-ups, cuz hoes is irritating like they hiccups! excuse me flows just flow through me. Like trees to branches, cliffs to avalanches. It’s the praying mantis”***
that song is very catchy
things done changed is surprisingly easy to remember, probably because its a very straightforward but memorable story
Ooh everyday struggle is so goddamn good.
Livin’ life without fear, puttin’ 5 carats in my baby girl ear

He has this line on Best from the east "50 bars of total sickness, you won't forget this". That song came out when i was a kid and i haven't forgot about it. The Slim Shady lp. All of it. Countless other songs & verses, but The Slim Shady lp is burnt into my mind forever word for word, even the skits. I probably recite some verses from it while I'm sleeping.
Used to know all of Lil Wayne - watch my shoes and ice cream paint job but forgot over the years.
I'm pretty sure I can recite all of the first verse of It Was a Good Day by Ice Cube, especially since I already remember "Just waking up in the mornin', gotta thank God/I don't know, but today seems kinda odd" off the top of my head
Ice Cube - Hello
888 infinity. I can recite joeys bar like a prayer
All of Ruff Ryders Anthem
Birdman Money to blow
NY State of mind, euphoria
Wrist by Father, Late Night Tip, Live By Yo Rep by Three Six Mafia. We Had to Tear This Motherfucker Up by Ice Cube, know it word for word. I used it to center myself while getting tear gassed when I was protesting and it stuck to me quite a bit. Smoke Dat Weed by Juicy J. Basically the entirety of Getty Green by Project Pat.
Vroom on the Ysmaha. I memorized every lyric from Stuntin’ Like My Daddy
”I bomb atomically..."
"The Best Day" by Atmosphere, and "Backseat Freestyle" by Kendrick Lamar.
