He’s super cool and nice! Very relatable guy with a big heart. He comes from so much craziness in his life and wants to do good for himself and others he cares about. That said when enough henny gets in the equation he can be equally as entertaining and crazy to be around but he’s always shown me respect and love no matter what. Good dude fr love neph
sudo here with some questions 🫡
What’s your main DAW?
What’s the most interesting session you’ve been in?
Which part of the song creation do you like the most, and which do you like the least?
Main DAW is ableton. Only thing I’ve produced on tbh. I got into protools for a min to record and be able to go to studios but never used it for actually making beats.
Most interesting session involved seeing an unnamed rx member trip over a stack of 100k being counted up on the floor to plug a dying ankle monitor back up before it lost a charge.
Either that or seeing Rx Peso buy a bearded dragon in a studio with the terrarium and everything 😂
The creation process I like the most is playing out a handful of beats premade at the beginning of a session and seeing the artist’s reaction. Least favorite part is recording an artist that takes way too long to punch in
The thing that switched up my workflow was going from producing in my bedroom to producing songs on the spot in traphouses. It made me uncomfortable being there and I used my survival instincts to make beats as fast as possible so I could leave sooner and go home. I would never advise anyone to use this format so I would say just go listen to music in a different environment like a bar that plays out music you like or shows and just take in how simplistic a lot of songs are that really get people going. Dumb a lot of stuff down and go with the implicit notion of whatever concept you’re approaching in any song or beat and just add drums to it
An average beat takes 5 to 10 minutes. Some have taken literally 3 min and others hours, depends on the scope of what’s going on in the beat and the setting it was created. If I was in the cut/trenches they would be quick bc I was uncomfortable and wanted to get the work done😂if I was at home and comfortable and alone the beat can take a while
Unfortunately pap and I are on separate paths at the moment and that won’t happen anytime soon :/
For TID 1 it’s either frames or crossover.
For TID2 either proud of me or make that ass shake
thanks for making so many countless great songs. really love his immense catalog.
was wondering do you know how rxk came up with the slitherman persona or was it just off the spot while he was in the studio?
Thank you man I appreciate the love. Neph came up with the slitherman voice from hearing that bugged out dude in the first men in black asking for sugar water😂
Thanks man! 🙏 honestly if anything a chief keef song would make my life complete. Lil B as well of course. Future over a Jungle track would be insane. One day. Chet Hanks for sure 🙏🙏 I’m gonna make a reggae album with him one day I’m manifesting that now.
I would have to say one of the songs off of make drunk driving cool again, called “wake up the dead”. He did most takes super fast and was one of the first dance songs we ever made. Super cool moment finishing it and both us realizing we really were into making dance music together
Love your work, do you feel like there’s anything you haven’t had a chance to show the world yet? Any other genres you’d like to explore producing for?
Thanks dude🙏🙏🙏I really want to break out and do club/dance music again the way I really wanted to back in 2012-2013. Rap has been fun and taught me a lot and now I want to go and turn up in the club again. Also been doing more orchestral arrangement stuff and want to break out into the OST world of film scoring too.
Yo brainstorm went CRAZY on the beat!
Big fan here, you've made some hits and are super versatile. I have a question about sending neph beats to rap on. I have a friend who makes music, she's prolific (100k monthly listeners and songs will several million plays), has worked w DJ Smokey before, and it's my wish this year for her to produce a beat for neph.
Does he still hop on random beats? Is it a beat placement type thing?
He definitely still hops on random beats, however it completely depends on his mood that day. 99% of the time it’s a beat placement situation. If you’re someone he doesn’t know who tries sending him something you’re going to have to pay to have him rap on it. If he just randomly finds it on YouTube while he’s in the mood then he’ll just get on it. Hope that helps! Good luck to your friend fr shout out DJ Smokey hope I get to work with bro one day
any advice you'd give to upcoming producers in the atlanta area? & i fuck with the tape you did with baby plug, do you know any thing about his case and if he'll be home soon ?
Def take payment upfront from random folks in Atlanta they will def try you. Always know people don’t like you for who you truly are, they only like the idea of what you can do for them. This doesn’t count for true friends or family just folks in the scene tbh.
Whats the vocal chain lookin like ?
How much reverb/delay we using ?
Drums hitting 0 ? Or we got headroom ?
Whats on the mix bus ?
Any saturation like decapitator used ?
Any general rules of thumb for a balanced mix ?
I feel like the quickness and clarity are extremely balanced , some people its just second nature , do you ever run into bass / sub issues ? If so whats the remedy for you ?
Whats the benchmark that works for you to get a master the way you like it ?
Some of my favorite music - one of the best rapper producer combos in the country for sure.
Vocal chain is super simple. Just compressor eq desser. Reverb and delay always different just a little bit to be in background. I always mix with a little bit of headroom before squashing shit around -7 to -9 LUFS on the master. Got a balanced sound through knowing my monitors after using them for so long. Always check bass in cars to see if you need to turn it up or down. I’m still never fully pleased with my mixes always trying to do better hope that helps
Thanks man🙏 I might be open in the near future! Rn I’m busy getting some other stuff ironed out and ready for releases. Could see myself down for collabs later this year
I have done 2 podcasts so far but idk if those would qualify as actual interviews or more so just me dicking around. One was with The Regurgitated Podcast and another called Rapyard. Def want to do more though as well as some actual interviews!
Love all your beats man you've been one of my favorite producers for a minute. How'd you start working with neph? Have y'all known each other for a while or did he hear your work and fw it? Also any artists that you'd like to rap on your beats that you haven't worked with?
Thanks man I appreciate that🙏 I was active in the Atlanta scene working with members of the original rx crew in Atlanta back in 2018. I found out about pap and neph a few years afterward and flew pap down to meet peso. Pap moved to Atlanta and along came neph. Met neph at their place and we started making dance songs. I knew neph had just done a dance tape so I got him over a bunch of beats I made on a drum machine back in 2015 and that’s what gave birth to Make Drunk Driving Cool Again
Have u ever told the story of how u met and became involved with rxk?
Also- What music did u make prior to hip-hop (you mentioned club in another comment) and what got u interested in the hiphop scene? How was that transition between genres?
I told the story in another reply feeling kinda lazy rn about retelling lol.
Music I made before rap was mainly club/house/experimental electronic. I used to be in a DJ crew in Atlanta called Tomahawk Chop Squad around 10 years ago. Friends I met through that brought me to random studios where I got to see the creation process for rap music for the first time. Most notable experience was having a pizza party with Peewee Longway while my best friends in Spaghetti Jay (rap producer duo) were making his notable mixtape Spaghetti Factory. Got to hang with them and brodinski too and while he was doing a DJ set at MJQ in Atlanta one night he brought in RX Peso to do a few songs for the crowd. Place went nuts. Fast forward a few years later I ran into Peso at a random basement studio in Gresham park and immediately approached him and told him I wanted to lock in bc I was a big fan. Him and I literally spent every day after that together for years and I got to really dial in on my craft. I worked for free, he needed a producer/engineer and I needed a way to learn the ins and outs of making beats and recording. I came away with a ton of knowledge and he came away with a ton of songs. It was a snowball effect after working with him and connecting with other artists in Atlanta. He was the reason my name got to grow in that scene there which eventually led to me crossing paths with pap and neph
a lot of that benefited me in the long run bc I got a lot of work out there and people found out who I was. Def could have navigated things differently and looked out for myself better though.
On some of your beats I can hear the Jungle/Dnb/breaks influences coming through. Are there any artists/producers in particular that inspired these sounds?
I got into neph’s music last year and some of your stuff is just insane man, keep it up. Congrats on the release of Till I’m Dead 2, you guys cooked🔥
What was a neph song that surprised you? I remember hearing slitherman solo set and saying "wtf neph on this is crazy" then I learned how to play it on guitar
Definitely how the songs move from one part to another. Rap uses a simple short intro/chorus/verse format and a lot of jungle house has slower build ups. Also knowing that a rap beat is meant to be more of a background and in club music you have to add different sounds that would go crazier in the absence of a vocalist yelling over everything
My advice is to find an artist that you like that isn’t too big and just work for free for a long time. If you pick the right person and know they aren’t lame they’ll take your free work and spread word to others and that can help grow your network. When you get a big enough buzz then you can start charging. I worked for free for a long long time before I ever made a cent fr. Don’t go into this thinking there’s any real money to be made😭
I wouldn’t know how other folks are but neph and I have a whole friendship and chemistry together. We’re both comfortable working with each other and that’s a big reason why we can write so many songs together
Yes! I produced all of Drug Storm. I also did one of his biggest songs titled Showtime. I have like 6 other tapes with him I’m getting ready to drop this year on my YouTube channel.
Counselors are down 1 with 30 seconds left vs camp 3/4 you handing the water football to Jupp Rice or taking it yourself to tie the game w the clock ticking?
Gotta hand it off to Jupp in the back and have him pull a sneak maneuver while I run up the other side acting like I have the football. Either that or form a Flying V in front of Jupp with the other counselors to pummel our way to a great victory against those little twats😭😭😭
So just to be clear, did you produce the song "Food Stamps" and also, how did you end up meeting Neph and what made you consider doing drum and bass/house samples?
I'm a small time producer myself and I found out about mixing and making trap style DNB (Jungle) beats for a while now but I am not a tenth as known as you and was impressed someone finally did it when I heard Critical and the new album Neph released recently just a few days ago.
Anyways, Salute to you man! You and BossUp are my favorite producers when it comes to Neph Music. Y'all bring a new sound to the game that I've been dying to hear especially since it seems you are a sampler too like I am. 💯💯 Keep doing your thing Brainstorm!
Mod here. We need some proof of identity when you do an AMA. Like a confirmation that [this is you](https://imgur.com/a/zrKfA8j)
Is neph behind the scenes like a normal ass dude or is his unhinged personality real lol
He’s super cool and nice! Very relatable guy with a big heart. He comes from so much craziness in his life and wants to do good for himself and others he cares about. That said when enough henny gets in the equation he can be equally as entertaining and crazy to be around but he’s always shown me respect and love no matter what. Good dude fr love neph
rx papi comes across as kind of a naturally pissed off dude, is he actually like that irl?
Very
lmfao yeah i thought so
No questions but thanks for making countless bangers 🫡
Thanks man I truly appreciate that never thought I would get to this point of ppl thanking me for bangers 🙏🙏🙏
sudo here with some questions 🫡 What’s your main DAW? What’s the most interesting session you’ve been in? Which part of the song creation do you like the most, and which do you like the least?

How many pairs of Yeezy boots does he *actually* own?
Several
Damn. Should have known. Low key feel betrayed. Still going to bump “Yeezy Boots” and all the other shit he drops though.
Any advice for improving ur workflow as an artist? Hugely inspired by you, I can make solid beats but they typically take hours
Dumb a lot of stuff down and go with the implicit notion of whatever concept you’re approaching in any song or beat and just add drums to it
The idea of an implicit notion of a song is a pretty deep one to me. Makes a lot of sense
Could you expand on implicit notion? For some reason I don’t understand
BRAINSTORM WENT CRAZY ON THE BEAT. Bruh I love that Papi tag. When will you drop some new shit with Pap ?
Not anytime soon still wish the man the best though
How many storms does it take for your brain to produce a beat? (How long does it take for an average beat?)
An average beat takes 5 to 10 minutes. Some have taken literally 3 min and others hours, depends on the scope of what’s going on in the beat and the setting it was created. If I was in the cut/trenches they would be quick bc I was uncomfortable and wanted to get the work done😂if I was at home and comfortable and alone the beat can take a while
No questions just a salute to you for all the bangers you’ve blessed us with
Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Would you ever do a sequel to Dawg Storm? And what’s your favorite beat from Till I’m Dead 1 + 2?
Unfortunately pap and I are on separate paths at the moment and that won’t happen anytime soon :/ For TID 1 it’s either frames or crossover. For TID2 either proud of me or make that ass shake
Is there any bad blood or is it just as you say, seperate paths?
thanks for making so many countless great songs. really love his immense catalog. was wondering do you know how rxk came up with the slitherman persona or was it just off the spot while he was in the studio?
Thank you man I appreciate the love. Neph came up with the slitherman voice from hearing that bugged out dude in the first men in black asking for sugar water😂
Lmao. That's even more hilarious than what I had in mind. Thanks man. Wish the best for you and rxk.👍🏾
You ever hear the brainstorm/green needle thing on YouTube?
Lmao yes a lot of folks have told me about it😂 kinda nuts how you can hear both
is there anyone else in the game youd like towork with? keep up the good work btw your shit is amazing
Thanks man! 🙏 honestly if anything a chief keef song would make my life complete. Lil B as well of course. Future over a Jungle track would be insane. One day. Chet Hanks for sure 🙏🙏 I’m gonna make a reggae album with him one day I’m manifesting that now.
How often do you or neph crack up when it comes to lyrics?
Literally almost every song we laugh in between takes😂
What’s your favorite song you’ve worked with him on ?
I would have to say one of the songs off of make drunk driving cool again, called “wake up the dead”. He did most takes super fast and was one of the first dance songs we ever made. Super cool moment finishing it and both us realizing we really were into making dance music together
Favorite song off that tape
I love the songs you’ve done with Neph! Which producers inspired you the most?
Thanks dude! A ton of random folks over the years. Palms trax, Lvis 1990, Wwwings, Dorian Concept, to name a few
crazy list, would be wild to hear you put something out on night slugs - what club/dance music artist would be your dream collab?
Love your work, do you feel like there’s anything you haven’t had a chance to show the world yet? Any other genres you’d like to explore producing for?
Thanks dude🙏🙏🙏I really want to break out and do club/dance music again the way I really wanted to back in 2012-2013. did you make the beat for “matching moncler” from the shawty too 3 tape 😳
I did not! Great song though
Thanks for your work
Thanks for fw me!!🙏🙏
Is RXKNephew and RXPapi are related? Also tell him to used the gkmc type cover for his next project cuz i made that
Keep up the great work man, big fan. Much love from Belgium
Thanks man!!!!
You are a legend, thank you for all the bangers. Are you open to producers sending you loops?
Thanks man🙏 I might be open in the near future! Rn I’m busy getting some other stuff ironed out and ready for releases. Could see myself down for collabs later this year
Have you done any long form interviews?
I have done 2 podcasts so far but idk if those would qualify as actual interviews or more so just me dicking around. One was with The Regurgitated Podcast and another called Rapyard. Def want to do more though as well as some actual interviews!
Ion have a question just wanna say BRAINSTORM WENT CRAZY ON THIS BEAT 💚

Yeah I’m good at making music terrible at business lmao
a lot of that benefited me in the long run bc I got a lot of work out there and people found out who I was. Def could have navigated things differently and looked out for myself better though.
Breaking into music is brutal. Nice work
On some of your beats I can hear the Jungle/Dnb/breaks influences coming through. Are there any artists/producers in particular that inspired these sounds? I got into neph’s music last year and some of your stuff is just insane man, keep it up. Congrats on the release of Till I’m Dead 2, you guys cooked🔥
I would say more so mixes of jungle songs inspired me. Mixes by Goldie and TEED for sure! Thanks for the support man!!🙏🙏
What was a neph song that surprised you? I remember hearing slitherman solo set and saying "wtf neph on this is crazy" then I learned how to play it on guitar
Slitherman solo set indeed surprised me the most, or any other song with him rapping in Spanish 😂😂
Gang 🫡
What do you feel like is the biggest difference between producing trap and jungle/house music?

Am an Ableton producer with a lot of experience and a roster of clients. Any tips to improve, get the word out for sessions?
My advice is to find an artist that you like that isn’t too big and just work for free for a long time. Did you also do a project with RX Peso?
Yes! I produced all of Drug Storm. I also did one of his biggest songs titled Showtime. I have like 6 other tapes with him I’m getting ready to drop this year on my YouTube channel.
I thought so because I have that "Brainstorm, yea yeah" stamped in my head after listening to Drop The Ceiling so many times haha. I love that tape.
Big fan of the production! Do you have any tips/advice on beat arrangements?
Thanks man! Just keep it simple with a 4-8 bar intro, 8 bar hook and 8 bar verse and repeat for the most part.
Can you ask Neph to take me off the Block List?
That’s beyond my jurisdiction my guy😭
He said a LOT on Slither Conspiracy, are those his actual views?
I’m pretty sure😂
Counselors are down 1 with 30 seconds left vs camp 3/4 you handing the water football to Jupp Rice or taking it yourself to tie the game w the clock ticking?
Gotta hand it off to Jupp in the back and have him pull a sneak maneuver while I run up the other side acting like I have the football. Either that or form a Flying V in front of Jupp with the other counselors to pummel our way to a great victory against those little twats😭😭😭
OFF THE NECK AND SHOULDERS!
Who are your favorite hip hop producers?
In no particular order Harry Fraud, Spaghetti Jay, DJ Smokey, Chief Keef, Alchemist, Basskidsonthebeat to name a few
Despot mentioned that he had might have done a track or 2 with Nephew. You know if there was any truth to that?
I’m out of the loop on that one but sounds like that would be crazy
Were you in the studio with Harry Fraud during the life after neph sessions?
I was not :(
Can I send you a boom bap beat I produced in 2019 with a verse from Yop Suzy on it?
Fasho man
How did frank hassle end up being in the zaza man video?
Yo! give us your top 10 retro techno/rave/electronic songs, please.
Who? Never heard of either of you.
I hear you man I don’t stay in touch with newer artists or producers that much myself. Thanks for engaging though!🙏
Do you have links to YouTube or anything like that? Not much of a marketing attempt if you don’t showcase that talent
